Chapter 408: Chapter 279: Ten-Complete Great Replenishing Pill (Part 2)

The growing concentration of the Power of Void seemed to attract the attention of certain creatures in the void.

Suddenly, in the void to the left of Han Ning’s spiritual web, a streak of deep blue Flowing Light flared to life.

A deep blue, serpentine creature with an ugly bulge on its head furtively materialized from the empty void.

"HISS~"

The serpent flicked a blue, forked tongue made entirely of Energy. It turned its head toward the web, let out an excited hiss, and flew toward the unsuspecting Fei Lin.

Just as it closed to within a kilometer of Fei Lin, a shadow like a starlit sky abruptly emerged from behind her. It morphed into the form of a jet-black Unicorn, its wary eyes fixed on the silently approaching serpent.

"NEIGH!!"

Alerted by the Star Dream Unicorn’s warning, Han Ning and Fei Lin snapped to attention, their focus shifting to the serpent.

’What is this thing? A creature from Subspace?’

Han Ning scanned the approaching serpent with his Spiritual Power and used his panel’s Authentication function.

[

Race: Starlight Wandering Snake

Gender: N/A

Talent: C

Level: Lord I

Talent: Spirit Devourer

Mastered Elements: Star

Introduction: An Energy Body born between dying stars. It gained sentience by attaching to the emotions of creatures from a Dead Star. It possesses the ability to briefly enter the Main World and enjoys devouring creatures with abundant Spiritual Energy.

]

’A pure Energy Body. It really is a Subspace creature.’

The moment he "saw" the Energy serpent, information about Subspace automatically surfaced in Han Ning’s mind.

According to the records left by the Alataku People, any space outside the Main World could be called Subspace, or outer space.

Even a people as powerful as the Alatak had only explored Subspace to a very limited extent. This was largely because Subspace was exceptionally dangerous, filled with sudden spatial storms, terrifying radiation, hidden and powerful creatures, and a harsh environment where it was difficult for life to survive.

Only a Beast Master whose Spiritual Power had reached Tier Four could use their power to explore its superficial layers. Furthermore, a Soul Beast had to reach the Monarch Level, or possess a Talent for navigating Subspace, just to be able to conduct a simple exploration of that vast, boundless outer space.

Without needing any reminder from him, the startled Fei Lin immediately entered a combat state.

"Eeee!" she cried out.

In Han Ning’s perception, a crisscrossing web of sharp, golden light erupted from her body.

In an instant, a wave of fierce, violent energy burst out from Fei Lin, spreading wildly in all directions!

WHOOSH—

The complex lines on the back of Fei Lin’s hand lit up as a jet-black war sword materialized, instantly swelling to more than three times its original size.

The ten-meter-long wandering snake in front of her suddenly didn’t seem so huge anymore.

SWISH!

She swung her sword in a flurry of slashes. The dark blade flashed with rings of golden light, and in the blink of an eye, the sword strikes reached the wandering snake.

A slender figure performed an Instant Teleportation, appearing beside the Starlight Wandering Snake in sync with the sword light.

The sword light cut through its defenses like a hot knife through butter, shattering the Starlight Wandering Snake’s protective Energy Shield.

Then, a pair of smooth, fair hands covered in purple patterns clamped down on the Starlight Wandering Snake’s Energy Body, gripping it as easily as if it were a baby chick.

BZZZT—

A dazzling metallic brilliance swept out, bathing the surroundings in a blinding light.

WHOOSH~

As flashes of sword light burst forth, Han Ning felt a jolt through his spirit as a faint, agonizing wail echoed from the void.

By the time he quickly recovered his senses,

Fei Lin, who had returned to her dignified, mature female form, was wrapping the Starlight Wandering Snake—now a small serpent made entirely of Energy—around her arm, coiling it like a bracelet.

"Eeee~"

Fei Lin shook her arm, now shimmering with blue light, and showed it off to Han Ning as if presenting a trophy.

"Amazing, truly amazing! Your attacks are incredibly fierce. When it comes to the Penetration Power of your Soul Techniques, Fei Lin, you’re probably the strongest among us. Just incredible!" Han Ning didn’t hold back his praise, showering his little girl with compliments.

"Eee!" Fei Lin proudly lifted her head, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly, revealing her joyful mood.

...

With Fei Lin’s help, Han Ning finished gathering the remaining Power of Void in just half a day.

[Current Extraction Progress: 1.12]

’This is enough! With Fei Lin’s help, I should be able to produce one in about two days.’

A look of delight appeared on Han Ning’s face as he gazed at the deep-purple, diamond-shaped crystal that had condensed on the panel.

He took out dozens of shimmering Lord Level Soul Beast Crystal Stones from the pouch at his waist and absorbed their Energy one by one, only stopping when he had accumulated 1,000,000 Energy.

These Crystal Stones were resources collected jointly by humans, the Dragon Blood, the two Ancestor Families, and spies within the lower-level Insect Master Families; they were not his personal property.

As for their purpose, they were, of course, to feed the glutton, Grey.

If it were just a matter of eating the Crystal Stones raw, Dark Type ones were the most effective, while Wood Attribute ones were the worst.

But he had his panel, so the Attributes of the Crystal Stones didn’t matter.

With all the materials for "crafting" a Lord Level Energy Core gathered, Han Ning eagerly called up the internal synthesis interface.

This time, the icons for the required materials on the interface were no longer dotted outlines but solid, tangible images.

Without any hesitation, he mentally commanded, ’Synthesize!’

As his thought was issued, the interface began to emit a faint, purple glow.

Lines of pearlescent white and deep purple Energy intertwined, merged, and finally erupted in a brilliant flash of light.

A perfectly round and flawless sphere, shimmering with a faint purple luster, floated silently within the panel.

’This should be what the Energy Core looks like in reality.’

Since it was an internal synthesis, Han Ning knew that the Energy Core displayed on the panel was merely a visual effect for his viewing. In reality, it was still just a highly concentrated mass of Energy.

Currently, everything the panel provided him was centered around Energy; no actual physical matter was involved.

He focused his thoughts on the Energy Core, and in an instant, a block of text appeared.

Currently usable Soul Beasts: Gray Demon Whale, Jade Hook Spirit Wood

Below them were several grayed-out names: Egg Pancake, All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm, Fei Lin, and others.

As for why it couldn’t be used on them, the panel also provided an explanation.

The reason was simple: the Energy Core contained too much Energy. The upper limits of the other three’s bodily Energy reserves were insufficient to accommodate such a massive infusion.

With his task complete, Han Ning didn’t linger underground. He led his Soul Beasts back to the surface.

Several days had passed by the time he returned. Upon arriving back at his residence, he was surprised to find that the small community, which had grown to a dozen or so buildings, now had over ten new Beast Masters who had recently joined.

"Lord Han Ning, you’ve finally returned."

A hoarse voice sounded out. Amidst swirling black smoke, a woman with deathly pale skin appeared at Han Ning’s side, bowing in salute.

"Ah Yu, where is Grey right now?"

Han Ning looked up at the sky but saw no sign of Grey.

"My Lord, Mengting took Grey to the north two days ago to search for Elemental Crystal Stones. They should be back sometime today."

"Mm, I see. Has anything particularly significant happened in Night Nether City these past few days while I was gone?" Han Ning nodded and walked over to a bench in the rest area with Ah Yu, taking a seat.

"Nothing major has happened within the city itself. However, I heard that... in more than a dozen areas near the Grudge Abyss to the south and west, terrifyingly powerful spatial storms have appeared again, causing the deaths of a large number of the Abyssal Race." Ah Yu didn’t sit, instead half-kneeling before Han Ning as she softly recounted the events of the past few days.

’It’s happening more and more frequently... At this rate, this continent will be completely destroyed in less than half a year...’

Han Ning gazed at the purple-flamed sky, already calculating in his mind that it was time to bring everyone from the Jade Forest into Night Nether City.

Night Nether City had been specially fortified by the Alataku People, so the surrounding space was more stable and less prone to spatial storms.

After a pause, he asked,

"By the way, that evacuation list I asked you about before I left—have you thought it over?"
