Chapter 481: Chapter 317: Eastern Continent Group

"At a time like this, a Beast Master’s role becomes absolutely critical. A Beast Master with an advanced lineage can work wonders, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Even a common Soul Beast with only a C-rank Talent at the start can be raised to the Emperor Level through their Beast Master’s meticulous training."

The two young men beside Sage nodded repeatedly as they listened.

The humans were all practicing the Four Symbols Meditation Technique, which Han Ning had obtained from his panel. The further they progressed on the path of a Beast Master, the more they came to appreciate the profound depth of this technique.

Sage glanced at the group of Soul Beasts playing nearby, his gaze landing on Egg Pancake. "This little fella has a trace of an Ancient Dragon Bloodline. If you raise it well, given time, our Witch Spirit Race might even need your help."

"Er... Sage, has the fighting on the front lines really gotten that severe?"

Han Ning felt a hint of pessimism in Sage’s words.

The fiery light in Sage’s eyes flickered silently.

"According to the latest intelligence from Shui Rui, the Elemental Capital has fallen. To use a phrase from you Xia Country folk, we must prepare for a rainy day."

"I suspect... the Alataku People have successfully figured out how to summon Abyssal Demons. The Witch Spirit Race has likely been forced into a defensive position."

"Abyssal Demons... But aren’t Demons supposed to be suppressed by the laws of the Main World when they enter?" Han Ning asked in confusion.

Sage shook his head. "I don’t know either."

"If the Elemental Capital has fallen, where are we supposed to go now?" Lin Tianhe asked, his face a mask of confusion.

"First, we’ll leave the Celestial Sea and head to the Continent Group to gather more frontline intelligence. We’ll decide what to do from there. At least the route from the Subspace storm zone to the Eastern Continent Group is fixed."

On the other side of the Celestial Sea lay a vast expanse of land. Each continent was ruled by a different sentient race, and there was no unity among them. For this reason, the numerous continents of the Purple Crystal World, each belonging to a different race, were collectively known as the Continent Group.

The Eastern Continent Group was located in the eastern region of the Purple Crystal World.

「A month and a half passed in the blink of an eye.」

Under the tutelage of Sage and Hom, Han Ning and the other human and Dragon Blood Race Beast Masters fell into a monotonous routine of work and training, their lives revolving around three points: their workstations, the Soul Beast training grounds, and their dormitories.

Nourished by the Lord Level Energy Cores, reaching the Lord Level energy cap was no issue for Han Ning’s Soul Beasts. Yin Yi and the All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm comprehended an increasing number of Divine Will Models; they now only needed the right catalyst to break through to the Monarch Level.

Fei Lin, though a step behind, had also entered the stage of comprehending Divine Will Models.

Furthermore, while studying Egg Pancake’s Monarch Level abilities, Han Ning was surprised to find that after its recent evolution and breakthrough, it hadn’t comprehended any Monarch Level Soul Techniques.

He only found out why after asking Sage. The inherited Soul Techniques from a Soul Beast’s bloodline typically only went up to the Lord Level. At the Monarch Level, a Soul Beast had to rely on itself, or work with its Beast Master, to research and develop highly destructive Soul Techniques.

Until they created a unique Monarch-level Soul Technique, most Beast Masters opted to have their Soul Beasts use Lord-level Soul Techniques engraved with Divine Will Models as their means of combat.

...

A small black dot flashed across the sky, high above the boundless, deep blue sea.

「On the bridge of the Gray Demon Whale.」

Han Ning, Sage, Dean Wu, Cang Tong, Academician Zhou, Leon, Qing Fan, and dozens of other Beast Masters from the human, Dragon Blood, and Hexagon races were gathered together.

Outside the window, dark clouds swirled and lightning flashed. A torrential downpour hammered against Grey’s outer defensive Shield, creating faint ripples across its surface.

Leon held a pointer, tracing over several landmasses on the navigational chart. "The Gray Demon Whale is about to leave the Subspace storm zone and enter the Sunset Islands region of the Celestial Sea. This area is under the jurisdiction of the Red Manta Clan, one of the Deep Sea Races. Our scouting team just reported back that a contingent of the Wind Spirit Race, having migrated from the Eastern Continent Group, has suddenly occupied the Southern Four Islands. The Red Manta Clan is now dispatching Beast Master units to fight them."

"The Wind Spirit Race?" Sage frowned. "That name sounds very familiar. I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere before."

But then Hom, who was beside him, shot to his feet. "It’s the Storm Division! The Wind Spirit Race is a branch of the Witch Spirit Race’s Storm Division. They are composed of mixed-blood Witch Spirit People, led by an Elemental Prince."

"The Storm Division? That must have happened after my death," Sage said in a moment of realization, but his expression quickly turned to one of confusion. "Why would a group of mixed-blood Witch Spirit People travel across distant Continent Groups all the way to the Celestial Sea, on the fringe of the continents? Could it be..."

As he spoke, he and Hom exchanged a look, the same possibility dawning on them simultaneously.

Sage then looked at the others and said in a cold tone, "Everyone, we must infiltrate the Southern Four Islands and exchange intelligence with the Wind Spirit Race Beast Masters there. When the Gray Demon Whale passes over the Sunset Islands, find a suitable place to drop us off."

"Absolutely not!" Han Ning was the first to reject the suggestion. "Sirs, the Southern Four Islands are a warzone! You don’t have any Soul Beasts to protect you. It’s far too dangerous!"

"This concerns the internal affairs of the Witch Spirit Race. We have to go," Sage sighed. "Han Ning, have you forgotten the purpose of our cooperation, why we left the Insect Continent with you? It was to return to our homeland, to see the place where we once lived."

"How about this," the eldest of the group, Dean Wu, spoke up. "I remember the Sunset Islands have neutral islands where travelers can rest. Coincidentally, Grey is also exhausted after flying for a month and a half. We can land in the Sunset Islands region to rest for a bit, make adjustments, and replenish our supplies."
