Chapter 503: Chapter 328: Grey’s Evolution

The current flowed faster than anyone could have imagined.

Being inside the current was like riding a high-speed train. The scenery on both sides flashed past, leaving only blurry afterimages.

Four Tri-Color Sea Serpents led the way, swimming in a spiraling formation. They were flanked by numerous Water Type Soul Beasts, all exuding a powerful Spiritual Pressure as they served as escorts.

Before long, a vast underwater valley came into view.

Ahead, a giant city built on the seabed appeared.

The immense city was built within a deep-sea canyon, surrounded by mountains. Overhead lay the deep, boundless, pitch-black ocean, where massive Soul Beasts could occasionally be seen parting the water as they swam into the distance.

The city was not dim. It was adorned with countless massive Clam Pearls, corals, and sea grasses that all emitted a gentle light.

A giant, bowl-shaped Shield was inverted over the building complex, its surface rippling like water.

Beast Masters in twos and threes, riding Aquatic Soul Beasts, patrolled near the Shield, as if inspecting the surroundings.

This orderly scene was broken by the arrival of the four Tri-Color Sea Serpents.

The Shield, large enough to envelop the entire metropolis, split open. Then, several hundred peculiar-looking Deep Sea People emerged from the opening and floated on either side, clearly there to welcome Bobo Man and his entourage.

Han Ning was already used to such grand displays. Amid the fervent welcome, Grey slowly followed the current into the city.

The moment they entered the city, everyone felt a refreshing aura, like morning dew filling their lungs. They all felt much more invigorated.

The city’s interior wasn’t what Han Ning had imagined. It wasn’t filled with seawater. Instead, the space was filled with an indescribable fluid. This substance was colorless and supplied oxygen, yet it possessed the properties of water, allowing creatures to float within it.

The pressure was also different; it was about 1.5 times stronger here than on land.

The crew removed the Shield from Grey’s body, and Han Ning instantly felt a slight pressure wash over him. It wasn’t a problem for physically fit Beast Masters like them, however.

"GURGLE... We’re going to see our Mother. We’ll be back later. You all can explore Caiyu City for a while. I’ll have Wave Scale show you around," Bobo Man said, waving a tentacle at Han Ning and gesturing toward the Sea Goddess beside him.

"Alright, go on. You’re busy," Han Ning said with a smile, patting his tentacle.

"Make yourselves at home here. No need to stand on ceremony," Bobo Man said, his tentacle waving before wrapping around his friend’s arm for a gentle shake.

The sight greatly surprised Wave Scale, the Sea Goddess standing nearby.

"Our guests, please follow me into the city for now."

After Bobo Man, the Sixth Princess, and Ruiyue had departed, Wave Scale offered a genuine smile to those who remained.

...

「About five hours later.」

Bobo Man, having returned from his mother’s place, led Han Ning and the enormous Grey to a special area about 500 nautical miles away from Caiyu City.

Before them lay a vast, enormous valley that resembled a giant cauldron. The valley floor was overgrown with twisted, dark-brown rock pillars, and pools of water as black as ink dotted the landscape.

It was a miraculous sight. Though they were surrounded on all sides by seawater, the bottom of the valley below was layered with a completely different kind of liquid.

The rim of the valley was lined with patrolling Beast Masters and Sea Soul Beasts, their patrol lines stretching from one side of the circular valley to the other.

Any nearby Beast Master who saw Bobo Man bowed to him respectfully.

Bobo Man extended a long, thick tentacle and drew in the empty space before him.

A Rune shimmering with an aqua-blue light rapidly formed at the tip of his tentacle.

The Rune flew into the valley.

A moment later, Han Ning once again saw the scenery ahead ripple like the surface of water, sending concentric circles expanding outward.

"Let’s go!" Bobo Man said, retracting his tentacle with a mysterious expression. He then steered Bobo Ka and floated down first.

His figure vanished in an instant, as if he had passed through a rippling surface of water.

Having experienced entering the Jade Forest, Han Ning knew this was a place similar to a Barrier. At Bobo Man’s signal, he called to the enormous Grey, and they floated in together.

When he came to his senses, they were already at the bottom of the valley.

A heavy pressure inexplicably descended upon his shoulders. Even the surrounding medium seemed to have become extremely viscous, as if they were moving through invisible glue that hindered their every move.

"The concentration of Water and Earth Elements here is over fifty times that of the outside world. They’ve almost solidified. Anyone who isn’t a Beast Master would be completely unable to enter," Bobo Man explained in a low voice, floating nearby.

Han Ning grunted in acknowledgment and surveyed the scene.

Ahead was an endless expanse of black mire. Countless Soul Beasts that resembled Hippocampi, but with dark cyan carapaces, were constantly digging into the muck below.

As a Hippocampus burrowed, it would pull out a Crystal Stone that emitted a faint, dim yellow and azure halo. A patrolling Sea Goddess Beastmaster would then take the stone from its mouth and toss it into a large crate nearby.

And in the outer regions, Beast Masters stood at regular intervals, directing their Soul Beasts and warily surveying the area.

The most astonishing sight of all was in the center of the vast expanse above. A colossal turtle shell, like a small continent, floated there, constantly emitting a deep yellow halo.

Its base was circular, tapering into a cone. At its apex, a ball of brilliant yellow light gathered before forming a thick pillar that shot down toward the seafloor.
