Chapter 1432: Chapter 1432: Don’t Fight!
His face was ashen, his eyes cold like shards of ice, and his gaze was piercingly cold. His long, slanted eyes were half-squinted, with a dangerous glint flashing beneath them.
His eyes, devoid of warmth, glared fiercely at Knox Simmons, while his hands hung by his sides, clenched into fists with bulging veins.
Knox Simmons and Matthew Saxon had fought many times.
Knox had a sharp tongue; though he always ended up bruised and battered, he constantly sought out trouble.
This time was no different; right before getting hit, he provocatively taunted, "What, you want to fight? Bring it on, do you really think I’m scared of you? Matthew Saxon, let me tell you, I wanted to punch you last night. You acted like less than a human being by leaving your wife out in the cold and hungry in the middle of the night. We need to settle this score properly. Don’t bully Scarlett thinking there’s no one to stand up for her. I’ll beat the hell out of you, you bastard!"
He straightened his body, jumped off the sofa, rolled up his sleeves, and clenched his fists. Even before starting the fight, he was red in the face, shouting angrily, "You cheat and yet think you’re justified, huh? How did Scarlett end up picking someone like you?"
Matthew Saxon, extremely angry, laughed instead, gritting his teeth as he chuckled twice. Then he pushed Hayes Simmons, who came over to pull him away, to the side and swung a fist at Knox Simmons: "Old Master Simmons wouldn’t want to hit this punk, but I’m not him. You want a beating? Fine, I’ll oblige!"
"Ah!"
As the fist was about to land on Knox Simmons’s face, the maid, who had witnessed the entire cause and process of the incident, screamed in fear as if the fist was aimed at her, and her small face turned pale with fright.
"Matthew, Knox, talk things through, don’t fight!" Hayes Simmons was at wit’s end. He could handle company affairs, however trivial, but faced with this situation, he was stumped.
His hands didn’t even know whom to pull away.
But neither of the two furious men could hear his plea; both were so enraged they seemed to burn with rage, ready to swallow each other whole, needing to drink each other’s blood to quench their anger.
Matthew Saxon swung his fist as Knox Simmons dodged.
A mocking smile curved at his lips as Knox flexed his muscles and raised his tightly clenched fists: "With just that, you think you can teach me a lesson? Even the elderly ladies who dance in the square are more agile than you. Perhaps you’ve indulged yourself to the point of ruining your health and turned yourself useless."
His gloating lasted less than five seconds before he got heavily hit in the chest.
Matthew Saxon’s fist landed squarely on his chest, and before Knox could react, another punch hit him: "Even if I’m no match for those dancing grannies, dealing with you is more than enough. You can’t even handle a fraction of my skill and yet you have the guts to boast here. If I were you, I’d dig a hole and hide myself from shame."
Each punch landed solidly on Knox’s body, and the dull sound of fists hitting flesh was deeply unsettling.
The maid was scared stiff, and while she initially managed a couple of screams, she soon found herself unable even to scream, shrinking into a safe corner, covering her mouth with one hand and her eyes with the other, occasionally peeking through her fingers to check the latest battle status.
