Chapter 1466: Chapter 1466: I Still Owe You a Wedding Gift
Matthew Saxon was so angry that his face turned dark, and he snapped, "Are you really my grandfather? Watching my marriage fall apart makes you happy?"
Ian Douglas looked up and gave him a glare, "Would these things happen if you didn’t cause trouble outside?"
On this matter, Matthew was at fault, and after being rebuked by Ian, he couldn’t find a way to refute it.
He pressed his lips tightly together, wore a cold expression in silence, and after a few seconds, coldly said, "Anyway, I’ve already taken care of it, so stop bringing it up."
Ian chuckled, his fingers tracing a circle along the edge of the teacup, bowing his head to blow away the few floating green tea leaves on the surface, "Are you afraid Scarlett will remember what a scoundrel you were and all your previous efforts would be in vain?"
Matthew was anxious, "Grandpa!"
Ian couldn’t help but laugh aloud, finding it amusing that he could make his grandson, who loved to challenge him since childhood, anxious.
At last, he found something that could restrain him.
He squinted his eyes slightly, his gaze traveling past Matthew to Scarlett Yates standing behind him, reached out his hand, gestured to Scarlett, and smilingly said, "Scarlett, come over, I have something to tell you."
Matthew took a step forward, pressed his lips together tightly, his expression was unpleasant, "Grandpa, what exactly are you trying to do?"
Ian often did unexpected things, even his grandson couldn’t guess what he would do next.
Now hearing him call Scarlett over, Matthew felt uneasy, sensing Ian might stir up something.
Scarlett was startled for a moment, and pointed to herself, "Me?"
Ian nodded, "Who else would it be if not you? Is there a second Scarlett here?"
Scarlett was startled again, puzzled, finding Ian a little strange.
Hmm, very different from the Ian she knew before, and no longer showing that kind of displeased look when he looked at her.
She slowly walked over, standing in a straight line with Matthew.
Matthew turned his head to glance at her, then frowned at Ian, his eyes held a silent threat, as if warning Ian not to say something inappropriate.
Ian, squinting his eyes and smiling, looked just like a cunning old fox.
Especially when he was just smiling without speaking, it made people’s hearts itch and feel uneasy.
"Grandpa..." Matthew frowned, a bit unable to endure it, "You called Scarlett over, what exactly do you want to say to her?"
Ian waited until Matthew was sufficiently anxious, then smiled and put down the teacup, slowly saying, "You two may not have had the wedding, but you have got a marriage certificate, so you’re officially married. But I still owe you a wedding gift."
Scarlett’s eyes showed a hint of surprise.
Ian meant... he wanted to give them a wedding gift?
Matthew had asked for the wedding gift at that time, but they had gone ahead and registered their marriage first, which made Ian furious, so the gift just didn’t happen.
She remembered Ian left on the day they got their marriage certificate, claiming he would never come back to Z City again.
"Grandpa called Scarlett and me over to the study to give us a gift?" Matthew was also a bit surprised, but he felt a sense of relief.
As long as Ian wasn’t here to cause trouble, anything else didn’t matter to him.
