Chapter 1473: Chapter 1473: It’s Me, Rose
Only Olly firmly believed that the relationship between Scarlett Yates and Matthew Saxon wouldn’t be affected, and she even thought that every argument followed by reconciliation could enhance their bond.
This time, the fight was quite intense, but after just one night, the two were back to normal again.
Olly leaned close to Scarlett Yates and whispered in her ear, "After you left last night, the Young Master was so restless, he didn’t even sleep. Early this morning, he went out looking for you. Young Madam, please don’t be angry with the Young Master anymore, he really cares about you."
After whispering, Olly stepped back with a giggle, "Young Master, do you need any help moving some things?"
Matthew Saxon shot her a sideways glance.
Olly covered her mouth as she laughed, "Okay, Young Master, we’re going downstairs now, won’t interrupt you and the Young Madam."
After speaking, she tugged the sleeve of the girl next to her, "Let’s go quickly, Oceanic Department Store has so many discounts today, if we don’t go now it’ll be too late."
--
Matthew Saxon fell asleep.
He drifted off quickly, falling asleep almost as soon as he lay down.
Scarlett quietly left the room, gently closing the door behind her.
She stood in the hallway hesitating for a moment, then slowly took her phone out of her bag.
There was a number she hadn’t saved in her contacts but always remembered.
She had been hesitating about whether to make the call or not.
Since leaving A Country, she had resolved not to have even the slightest connection with anyone in the Yates Family.
Making this call meant reestablishing contact with someone from the Yates Family.
Scarlett really didn’t want to make the call.
But wanting or not, once a thought had formed in her mind, she felt an urgent need to find out.
If she didn’t get clarity, she would feel unsettled.
She bit her lip, looked down, and her fingers swiped across the phone screen, swiping for a while before pressing a string of numbers.
The call connected quickly and rang for a long time, long enough for Scarlett Yates to almost hang up when it suddenly got answered.
A sweet, crisp voice rang on the other end, very pleasing yet slightly childlike, indicating the person answering was quite young, "This is Rose Yates."
Honestly, during the past couple of days since returning, Scarlett Yates had thought about Rose Yates.
No matter how Noah Yates was, this younger sister was actually quite nice.
When Rose Yates introduced herself, her tone carried a sense of pride, Scarlett could envision her speaking with her chin raised high, eyes upturned, full of arrogance.
"Hey, who are you? If you don’t speak, I’m hanging up. I hate people trying to act mysterious. I’m giving you three seconds, one, two..."
Scarlett Yates paused and only spoke slowly after Rose Yates impatiently urged again, "It’s me, Rose."
"If you don’t say your name, how would I know who you are, speaking so familiarly, who are you?"
Rose Yates seemed very dissatisfied with her way of introducing herself, muttered a few words, and in the silence of Scarlett Yates, suddenly exclaimed.
"Oh..." an expression of surprise and doubt, drawn out, followed by the next sentence after a long while, "You aren’t Scarlett Yates, are you?"
Hearing her called by her full name didn’t bother Scarlett Yates at all since when she lived at the Yates Family, Rose Yates would only call her sister when needing something, otherwise never called her sister.
