Chapter 1520: Chapter 1520: What Should I Do

Could it be... she really guessed correctly?

But... but... that’s just too far-fetched.

How could Matthew Saxon be paralyzed, and completely paralyzed at that? A perfectly healthy person, how can one suddenly become paralyzed like that?

"Scarlett, quickly tell me, who is this person that’s going to be paralyzed? You’re driving me crazy with worry." Stella Nelson tightly grasped her hand, curious and anxious, her brows furrowed as if there were cat paws scratching at her heart, making her feel an unbearable itch.

Ever since receiving Maxwell Saxon’s phone call, Scarlett Yates had been teetering on the brink of breakdown for so long, and now, in front of her best friend, she couldn’t hold back any longer.

She collapsed into Stella Nelson’s embrace and started crying even before she could speak.

Tears flowed in large drops from her eyes, splashing onto her pale cheeks.

"Stella, Stella, I can’t let him be paralyzed."

"How can he be paralyzed, how can he be paralyzed? That would be more painful than killing him."

"Stella, what should I do? Tell me, what should I do? I am truly suffering."

To save Matthew Saxon, she has to give him up too.

It feels as though a thousand needles are piercing deep into the tenderest part of her heart.

Her entire body trembles with pain.

What does it feel like to have to give up someone you deeply love?

Now, she finally understands.

Stella Nelson was terrified for her and quickly wrapped her arms around her, gently patting her back with one hand and continuously wiping her tears with the other, so anxious she almost cried with her: "Scarlett, is that person really Matthew Saxon? Oh my, what’s going on? Isn’t he fine? How did he suddenly just..."

Those words, she couldn’t even bring herself to say.

She feared that if she said them, Scarlett Yates would completely break down.

"Scarlett, don’t cry yet, things won’t be as bad as you think. Matthew Saxon is still in the emergency room, fighting for his life, and the final result hasn’t come out yet, right? The doctors at Saint Mercy are very skilled, they will certainly find a way, please stop crying." Her attempts to comfort seemed to have no effect at all; Scarlett Yates’ tears, like a string of pearls, once wiped dry would immediately flow down from the corners of her eyes again.

"It’s impossible, Stella, it’s impossible." Scarlett Yates’ hoarse voice carried despair and sorrow, shaking her head in a daze, a bitter smile tugging at her lips, "Do you know, Uncle Saxon is still in a coma, he will be just like Uncle Saxon."

"Chairman Saxon?" Stella Nelson was puzzled, "Scarlett, I don’t understand, what does this have to do with Chairman Saxon? Did they both have the same illness? And... wasn’t Chairman Saxon’s condition under control? He should be recuperating abroad, how could he be in a coma?"

"Stella, there are things I haven’t told you, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hide them from you, but because it’s so critical, I couldn’t speak on it."

But some things, when kept inside for too long without a person to confide in, can become very tiring.

Stella Nelson is someone she trusts, and if she needs someone to confide in, it could only be Stella Nelson.

Stella Nelson was taken aback, then turned her head to look around, and suddenly lowered her voice: "Scarlett, do you mean... there’s more to Chairman Saxon’s illness?"
