Chapter 1539: Chapter 1539: If I Say It’s Okay, It’s Okay

"Stop, stop!" Scarlett Yates exclaimed in shock, hurriedly putting her hands protectively over her chest, "Matthew Saxon, this is a hospital."

"So what if it’s a hospital?" he laughed nonchalantly, continuing to reach out like a predator for her, "It’s more interesting in a hospital, I like it."

Like... like hell you do!

"Scarlett, move your hands, why are you blocking me?"

"What are you trying to do?"

"What do you think I’m trying to do? Who was it just now looking at me with teary eyes, telling me I don’t have to hide anything from you, and to bravely face reality?"

Scarlett secured her hold over her chest more firmly: "What does that have to do with what you’re trying to do now?"

He raised an eyebrow.

She blocked her chest, so he moved toward other places: "Isn’t this me trying to prove to you? Only by proving it with actions will you stop worrying about me. Scarlett, I’m doing this to put your mind at ease."

He didn’t need to prove anything to her anymore.

Because... because Scarlett already felt the changes in his body, very obvious changes.

She wouldn’t foolishly believe it was some sort of toy.

"I believe you, Matthew Saxon, stop now, I believe you." She dodged repeatedly, pushed him away, and jumped off the bed.

This time, she easily pushed him aside.

Matthew Saxon was weak, so when she pushed him, he just fell to one side, and then... didn’t move.

He lay face down on the bed, leaving only his back exposed.

After Scarlett jumped off the bed and saw Matthew Saxon lying motionless, she was immediately frightened, went closer, and gently pushed him: "Matthew Saxon, are you okay? Don’t scare me."

In the next moment, her hand was grasped by him.

With a surprised gasp, she was pulled back onto the bed by him.

As he held her, he pulled the blanket over the both of them.

Scarlett struggled a bit: "Let me go, I really believe you now, you don’t need to prove anything more to me. I’m telling you, don’t do anything reckless, the doctor said that right now you..."

"I’m just holding you, don’t move. If you keep twisting around, I might not be able to hold back." His deep, muffled voice resonated, tinged with a hint of fatigue, as if he were sleepy.

Scarlett was momentarily stunned, then slowly lifted her head.

Her gaze first landed on his smooth, handsome chin, then moved up to his captivating, striking face.

His face was still pale; he kept his eyes closed, a trace of exhaustion between his brows.

Although he acted no different from usual, there was indeed a difference.

After playing around just now, he was feeling extremely tired, as if he had run several laps around a track, with his body aching all over.

Scarlett immediately stopped moving.

Lying obediently in his embrace, she said, "Matthew Saxon, are you tired?"

He lightly responded, "Hmm, a bit tired. Keep me company and sleep with me for a while."

"But... Hayes Simmons said I can only stay here for an hour, and time is almost up, I should go." Reluctantly, she didn’t want to leave at all; she just wanted to stay by his side.

So, even as she said this, she didn’t move from his arms.

"Don’t mind him, you stay here, you’re not allowed to go anywhere." As if afraid she might sneak away, he tightened his grip around her waist.

"Are you sure this is okay?" Scarlett nuzzled her head into his chest, found a comfortable position, and then closed her eyes.

"If I say it’s okay, then it’s okay." His tone was domineering and imperious.
