Chapter 1545: Chapter 1545: Why Are You Also Acting Immature?

The one speaking was Matthew Saxon, who seemed indifferent, unlike Scarlett Yates, who was a bit bashful. His long, slender eyes held a smile as he raised his eyebrows slightly and said, "Grandpa, that’s a strange question. Didn’t you see it all? Why are you asking when you already know."

Then he went ahead and added, "It’s not like you’re an inexperienced young man who doesn’t know what we’re doing?"

Scarlett Yates raised an eyebrow and turned her head to look at him.

His explanation just made things worse. It wasn’t much of a deal initially, but with the way he said it, it seemed like there’s really something going on between them.

"You impudent boy."

Ian Douglas seemed quite upset, but his eyes showed more concern for him: "I just came from Hayes Simmons’ place. He told me about your situation and said you shouldn’t..."

Seeing Scarlett standing by the bed, her face flushed, he couldn’t be too direct. After a pause, he said, "I know you two are newlyweds and can’t help it, but no matter how passionate you are, you have to consider the time and place. No matter how uncontrollable your feelings are now, you must hold back."

After speaking, he also specifically criticized Scarlett Yates: "Scarlett, Matthew is used to being reckless. He doesn’t know better, but why are you also acting clueless? Not only do you not try to persuade him, but you also let him have his way. You..."

"This has nothing to do with Scarlett."

Matthew Saxon was protective enough of her that even his own family couldn’t criticize Scarlett Yates.

His woman, he could pamper her, spoil her, or tease her, but no one else was allowed to say anything.

Even if that person was his grandfather, it wouldn’t be allowed.

"Can’t I even flirt with my own wife? Grandpa, you come in with such a serious face, it’ll scare people."

If it was just flirting, that would be fine. Ian Douglas recalled the scene he saw just as he opened the door and realized that they were indeed just playfully messing around.

His expression softened slightly, and he changed his tone: "Scarlett, could you step outside for a bit? I have something to discuss privately with Matthew."

"What secret could it be that even my own granddaughter-in-law can’t hear?" Hearing Ian ask Scarlett to leave, Matthew Saxon was a bit displeased.

But Ian Douglas was adamant: "If you really value your wife, the less she knows about certain things, the better."

Matthew Saxon’s expression shifted slightly. After a few seconds of silence, he lifted his head: "Scarlett, you should go ahead. It’s getting late. Go have dinner first."

Even though Scarlett was married to Matthew, she knew that truly integrating into the Saxon Family and becoming one of them couldn’t happen overnight.

Even though Ian Douglas had accepted her, it didn’t mean he would tell her everything.

She didn’t want to make it difficult for Matthew Saxon, so she nodded with a smile: "Sure. Do you want me to bring you something to eat?"

Matthew Saxon smiled faintly: "I’ll have whatever you’re having."

Suddenly she remembered: Scarlett was supposed to have dinner with Stella Nelson. But when she went to the nursing department to find her, she was told that Stella had already left early.

When she made a call, Stella stammered over the phone saying she had something to do and couldn’t accompany her tonight. As the call ended, Scarlett heard a man’s voice.

The voice sounded close, right beside Stella, and somewhat familiar.

After hanging up, Scarlett thought about it and realized.

No wonder that voice was familiar; wasn’t it Hayes Simmons?
