Chapter 1554: Chapter 1554: Sending You Straight to the Western Paradise

Despite his dissatisfaction, he dared not go against Maxwell Saxon’s wishes and turned back to a distance.

Soon, a servant brought over a basin of water and a cup of mouthwash.

Maxwell Saxon merely washed his hands, rinsed his mouth, and then ignored the wound in his mouth.

Earlier, Scarlett Yates had evidently bitten him painfully, his face still somewhat pale, and cold sweat occasionally appeared on his forehead.

But he didn’t care. When bloodstains reappeared at the corner of his mouth, he casually licked them and then turned to look at Scarlett, who was still lying on the ground.

She lifted her chin, looked up, her dark, shiny eyes burning with anger, and she glared at him with a fierce, gritted expression.

Like him, there were also bloodstains on her lips.

It was unclear if the blood came from her lips or from his body.

Maxwell Saxon walked towards her.

Scarlett instinctively backed away: "Don’t come over."

Her eyes were full of defensiveness, anger, and fear.

She was afraid of him.

Realizing this, something pricked Maxwell Saxon’s heart, causing a faint pain.

Once, she trusted him the most.

Once, if she encountered something frightening, she would run to him at the first opportunity.

But now, everything has changed.

When she looked at him, there was only fear in her eyes, as if he were a flood beast.

This was not the outcome he wanted, he liked her dependence, her trust, but didn’t want her to hate him, to fear him.

He didn’t understand how things between them had reached this point.

From beginning to end, he only wanted to treat her well, to make her happy and joyful to the best of his ability, but she always refused to accept his goodwill, constantly provoking him.

"Scarlett." He called her name softly, as if in resignation, letting out a gentle sigh.

"I won’t hurt you, I will never hurt you, don’t be afraid." When he heard her say she loved Matthew Saxon, he was filled with rage, but seeing her in this state now, his heart ached.

The anger gradually subsided, and he tried to speak to her in a gentle tone: "I apologize for my actions earlier, I shouldn’t have done that. Did I scare you?"

The face above was deep and captivating, with a high, sculpted nose, and thin, sensuous lips, handsome like someone from a painting.

The deep, captivating eyes shimmered with a gentle glow, and his voice was low and gentle, every move like a noble gentleman.

But all this was an illusion.

Just earlier, he had forced her.

He claimed he wouldn’t hurt her, but every action he took brought her immense harm.

A liar, he was just a shameless liar.

She could no longer believe a single word he said.

"Maxwell Saxon, if you dare do something like that to me again, I promise, next time I will bite off your tongue and send you straight to hell."

Her eyes held undisguised disgust, as if being kissed by him was something that made her particularly nauseous.

This made Maxwell Saxon feel very hurt.

The anger that had just subsided seemed to ignite again, with a faint spark flaring up and turning into a raging fire.

"Scarlett, what nonsense are you spouting again? Have you forgotten you’re supposed to marry me? Once you become my wife, of course, I won’t just kiss you, I’ll do other things too, exercising all the privileges I should as a husband."
