Chapter 1502: How is it working?
Chapter 1502: How is it working?
"How is this possible?"
That was the only thing that Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan could think when they saw the change that came over Xiao Mu.
After all, this wasn’t something that should have been possible since Xiao Mu was a puppet.
The liquid that came out of Xiao Mu’s mouth wasn’t blood, it was some kind of oil instead. Though if one didn’t look closely, they might think that it was blood since it had a similar shade to blood.
However, why would Xiao Mu suddenly spit out blood like this?
It seemed like the substance that was in the air in this next room was actually poison this time, but it still didn’t make sense since this wasn’t something that would be able to affect Xiao Mu as a puppet.
Though the fact that the illusion poisons were able to affect Xiao Mu already proved that there was something special about the poisons in this pavilion.
No matter how one looked at it, Xiao Mu’s body shouldn’t have anything for the poison to act on...
Still, it seemed like Xiao Mu was slowly adapting to the poison that it had been affected with.
Xiao Mu slowly stopped letting out that liquid and returned to normal.
Though the way that it stopped doing this seemed very strange since it looked like Xiao Mu was just leaking this liquid after a certain point.
Not to mention that this liquid wasn’t blood, it was oil.
"So it does have some mechanical parts inside of it." Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking to himself.
He had never seen how Xiao Mu’s body worked, but he didn’t think that it would be the same as the machines from his past life. Only seeing the oil come out like this, it seemed like he had been wrong.
Xiao Mu was made with AI from a much more technologically advanced continent, so it would make sense that its body would also have these parts that one might expect from a robot.
Perhaps it was also because of all of this that a miracle happened with Xiao Mu in the first place.
If it wasn’t for this, perhaps Xiao Mu might have never come to life like this.
There really was no understanding what the cross between technology and cultivation was.
After Xiao Mu finished analyzing the poison, it just spat out a mouthful of oil and turned back around.
With a shake of its head, it said, "There was nothing else in that room."
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan shook their heads with bitter smiles on their faces.
After all, if Xiao Mu could see this with its eyes, then it wasn’t as if this room was big enough for it to linger. The only reason that Xiao Mu had lingered in the room was because it had wanted to keep testing how the poison felt.
The two of them really didn’t know what to do with Xiao Mu acting like this.
After figuring this out, Xiao Mu went to another one of the doors and opened it.
This time, it didn’t seem like there was anything that happened with Xiao Mu’s body. Though when they looked closely, they could see that there was this strange sight that happened around Xiao Mu.
It was as if there was something that was trying to harm the surface of Xiao Mu’s body, but it also seemed like it was being repelled by something.
"This is most likely some kind of corroding poison, but its body’s material is naturally resistant to this." That was the conclusion that Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan reached in the end.
However, what they didn’t expect was that Xiao Mu had a disappointed look on its face before saying, "This one was the wrong choice."
When the two of them heard this, they once again shook their heads with bitter smiles on their faces. They could clearly see that Xiao Mu wasn’t talking about its choice of room, they knew that Xiao Mu was talking about the poison in the room.
After all, even from where they were standing, they could see the different doors that were here.
The reason that Xiao Mu said that this was the wrong choice was because this poison didn’t actually do anything to Xiao Mu. Which was why it wasn’t able to give the same sensation that Xiao Mu that the other poison had.
Once Xiao Mu got over its disappointment, it moved further into the room and started looking at the other doors. This time, it looked like Xiao Mu was trying to choose carefully so that it wouldn’t suffer the same failure a second time.
Lin Fan shook his head with the same bitter smile before moving forward with Ye Qing Huan into this new room.
Though when they moved into that room, Lin Fan’s expression changed.
He looked around the room as if he was trying to figure something out, which attracted the attention of Ye Qing Huan.
"It’s nothing..." Lin Fan said at first before slowly saying, "It’s just that this poison seems a bit weaker than the one in the last room."
The poison that he was referring to was the corroding poison.
This poison didn’t put the same kind of pressure on his Azure Wind barrier that the illusion poison had.
After looking around the room for a bit, he figured out what it was.
Even if this poison had a more aggressive nature to it, it didn’t mean that the materials that had been used to create it were stronger than the previous illusion poison. So in terms of energy needed to scatter it, it was actually less than the illusion poison.
"The illusion poison was an upgraded version of the one in the first corridor, so it makes sense that it would be stronger. However, why would the subsequent rooms become weaker?" Lin Fan thought to himself in a confused manner.
There was even a part of him that wanted to go into the room with poison that made one cough up blood to rest something. He really wanted to see if that poison had the same pressure as this corroding poison.
But in the end, he held back as he saw that Xiao Mu was about to head into another room.
When Xiao Mu entered the next room, it seemed like there was a reaction that came from it. Though it didn’t seem like Xiao Mu was that impressed at first with how it was reacting.
Eventually, it seemed like Xiao Mu found something interesting with how it raised its hand towards its mouth.
With its hand at its mouth, it suddenly spat out something into its hand before tossing it to the ground.
When Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan looked at this thing carefully, they found that it was actually a piece of hardened oil. Or in Xiao Mu’s case, this would be considered a piece of hardened blood.
So whatever poison was in the air should have caused this to happen.
"Such a terrifying poison..."
This was the kind of poison that would be able to kill silently without raising a single alarm. It was the kind of poison that would be completely missed by someone that wasn’t looking for it.
Even if they knew that there was a poison in the air, it wasn’t as if they would immediately think of something that could cause this kind of effect.
But it seemed like this didn’t matter at all for Xiao Mu.
After Xiao Mu spat out that piece of hardened oil, it started moving towards the next doors that were in this room.
Since Xiao Mu moved like this, it meant that it had already taken care of the poison that it had been hit with.
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan also followed Xiao Mu into the next room and when they did, Lin Fan confirmed something.
"So the poison used here isn’t as strong as the one from the first room."
The sensation that came from his Azure Wind barrier wouldn’t lie to him, so he was certain that this poison was weaker than the enhanced illusion poison.
Adding in the poison that made one spit out blood and the poison that corroded the skin, it really seemed like there were all kinds of different poison that were scattered inside of these different rooms.
So what they were testing wasn’t one’s ability to recognize that there was poison in the air.
It was testing whether one was able to figure out what kind of poison it was and how to negate those effects.
"Does that mean that this is a test for those that can create medicine or poison?"
Though in Xiao Mu’s case, the sensors that Xiao Mu possessed were able to detect what kind of poison it was and Xiao Mu’s body was able to resist the effects of the poison since it wasn’t alive.
However, that did leave one question unsolved.
"How is the poison even affecting Xiao Mu?"
In the first place, poison had an effect by reacting with the body of the one that inhaled them. That caused the parts of the body affected by the poison to react in the way that the poison was designed.
Xiao Mu didn’t have any of those parts that a normal living being should have had.
So there shouldn’t have been anything that would have actually reacted to the poison like that.
It really didn’t make any sense how Xiao Mu was being affected by the poison that filled the air in this place.
