Looking at this door that appeared in the ground, none of them really knew what they were supposed to do.
After all, it wasn’t as if this door was open for them or was it a door that they would take normally.

None of them trusted what they couldn’t see since it was completely dark down there. Even when they used their lights, they weren’t able to see a single thing down there.

When they saw that it was like this, it made them even less willing to jump down.
However, it wasn’t as if they would gain anything from standing here.
This was the only clue that had appeared to them, so it was the only way forward for them right now. If they ignored this, then there was no telling where they would go in this pavilion.
Xiao Mu was the one that took the first step in the end.
Looking back at Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan, the look in its eyes made it very clear to them what Xiao Mu was thinking.

When Xiao Mu’s voice came from the hole, the two of them also jumped down. Though just in case, Lin Fan made sure to keep the Azure Wind barrier around them.
However, he could easily tell that there wasn’t anything there.
Once they made it past that layer of darkness, they were able to see what was here.
It turned out that there was a large space that was hidden under the pavilion.
This large space seemed to be the main space of the pavilion with the things that filled this place.
If that was the case, that meant that whatever was above was some kind of testing ground for the poisons that were developed here. It meant that this entire pavilion was nothing more than a space used for testing these things.
There was a figure that seemed to be in front of Xiao Mu when the two of them landed.
From the aura, it was clear that this was an elder of the Dao Sect. But the surprising thing was her appearance.
For someone that worked with poison, she certainly didn’t have the appearance that one might think she would have. Instead of having an appearance that was corrupted by all of the poison that she worked with, she was as beautiful as a porcelain doll.
Even when they tried to see if this was a fake appearance, they couldn’t find a single trace that might suggest this.
In the first place, she was a fragment of the elder’s soul. A fragment of the soul should have the original appearance of the one that this soul belonged to.
"Perhaps it’s because she’s only a fragment of the soul that she’s like this. There’s no telling what working with poison would have done to her appearance when she was still alive."
That was the conclusion that both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan came to.
It didn’t seem like the elder was interested in Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan with the way that she was looking at Xiao Mu.
It even seemed like the only one that the elder was interested in was Xiao Mu with how she kept staring at it.
This wasn’t as if the elder was trying to figure out what Xiao Mu was, the way that the elder looked at Xiao Mu was as if she already knew what Xiao Mu was. The only thing that the elder seemed surprised by was how Xiao Mu was moving around on its own.
However, this was something that surprised Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan.
After all, the other elders had already seen Xiao Mu and weren’t as surprised as this elder. If the other elders could see through Xiao Mu, why wouldn’t this elder be able to see through Xiao Mu as well?
The only possibility was that there was some kind of connection between the two.
Both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were about to move forward to draw attention away from Xiao Mu. Both of them looked like they wanted to be the one that took the credit for passing this test.
It wasn’t that they were trying to take credit from Xiao Mu, it was that they were trying to keep the elder away from Xiao Mu.
After all, they just couldn’t tell what the elder wanted from Xiao Mu.
The only thing that they were certain of was that what the elder wasn’t from Xiao Mu wasn’t normal. If the elder were to try anything against Xiao Mu, then they certainly wouldn’t let the elder have its way.
However, it seemed like they had been overthinking this.
"Since you’re the one that analyzed all of my poison and made your way here, you’re the one that has passed the test. I’ll leave my inheritance to you." The elder said all of a sudden, catching all three of them off guard.
Xiao Mu had the strangest look since there was something that it remembered about all of the other pavilions that they had passed.
After a while, both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan also remembered why this was strange.
After all, none of the others had even considered Xiao Mu for the test since it was AI that drew on the data of the Dao Sect. So it could be said that it was cheating in these tests because of what it possessed.
But now this female elder said that it actually passed the test, which went against what the elders had said.
The only explanation for this was that the female elder had something that it wanted from Xiao Mu.
As Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were about to come forward to protect Xiao Mu, the female elder suddenly said, "This test is different, it doesn’t matter if it has access to information from the Dao Sect."
Both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were caught off guard before revealing awkward expressions. The female elder had hit the nail on the head and addressed the issue that they had been worried about.
When the female elder laid it out this clearly, it really was hard for them to say anything to refute this.
But it wasn’t as if they were going to let the female elder do anything to Xiao Mu.
"This poison isn’t like normal poison. This poison is one that directly affects the soul." The female elder said with a sigh, as if it had no choice but to say this.
However, it didn’t seem like the female elder was saying this because of Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan. Rather, it seemed like the female elder was only saying this because of the wariness that Xiao Mu had when it looked at her.
It seemed that as long as Xiao Mu was wary, she had no choice but to explain.
Hearing this explanation, both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan looked even more confused for a bit.
A poison that affects the soul...that was certainly something that they were hearing for the first time. However, it also seemed to clear up the doubts that they had about how the poison had been affecting Xiao Mu.
With Xiao Mu developing spirituality, it could be said that it had gained a soul.
So if there was a poison that could affect the soul, then it should be something that could affect Xiao Mu. Even if Xiao Mu’s body didn’t work like a normal body and didn’t die from the effects of these poisons.

When the female elder said master, it was referring to the elder that had created it.
Since Xiao Mu was here, that meant that the master that had created it was gone now.
This female elder understood this since she was the same as that master, they were both fragmented souls that couldn’t exist if they passed on what they were supposed to pass on.
Though when the female elder said this, everyone revealed strange looks.
The way that the female elder had asked this, there was something strange about the tone of voice that she used.
Anyone with a brain could figure it out just by hearing this tone.
