Chapter 96: Chapter 94: Bear Claw City, Roy’s Guidance

Miria had thought the person knocking on her door was one of the castle’s soldiers or servants.

It turned out she was wrong.

Because he was wearing a mask, Miria didn’t recognize Roy. Her brow furrowed, and a wary expression instantly appeared on her delicate, fair face as she decisively circulated her Fighting Qi.

Just as she was preparing to say something, Roy spoke first. "It’s me, Roy Wesley."

After speaking, Roy removed the pure white mask he was wearing.

Upon seeing it was Roy, the wariness on Miria’s face vanished instantly. It was replaced by a touch of surprise and a fleeting trace of fear as she sized him up, puzzled.

Roy paid no mind to Miria’s scrutiny. He closed the door, walked over to her, and sat down. "Allen sent me," he said, his expression calm.

"He said you wanted to kill some people but couldn’t handle it alone, so he sent me to give you a hand."

’So that’s why!’

Miria let out an imperceptible sigh of relief. "Why didn’t he come himself?" she asked slowly. "Is he too busy?"

"And why would you agree to his arrangement? You should be busy yourself right now."

Hearing her questions, Roy replied unhurriedly, "He’s been busy lately and couldn’t get away."

"As for why I’m here, it’s because he and I made a little trade."

"He’s letting me copy the Inheritance Map for the Giant Monster Breathing Technique. In exchange, I’m running this errand for him in the Snow Fox Domain."

Roy felt he had to make things clear to Miria, since he was here to help on Allen’s behalf.

Otherwise, Miria would owe the favor to him, not to Allen.

’Copy the Inheritance Map for the Giant Monster Breathing Technique?’

Miria gave Roy an odd look.

In the past, she would have certainly pressed him for details, trying to figure out exactly why he wanted to copy an Inheritance Map for a Breathing Technique.

Now, however, she kept her curiosity firmly in check.

She had no desire to repeat last time’s experience, where her excessive curiosity led to a terror she had never known before.

After a few seconds of silence, Miria continued, "I want to kill a total of five people. Two of them are Peak Knights, and the other three are High Tier Knights."

"On my own, I can handle one Peak Knight and one High Tier Knight at most."

"Are you confident you can take down the other three?"

Miria knew Roy’s strength far surpassed her own.

After all, when they’d clashed at the Royal Capital Inn, she hadn’t been able to block even a single one of his moves.

But to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings, she felt she had to be clear about the strength of the enemies they would be facing.

"As long as they’re not Great Knights, I’m absolutely confident."

"So, who are these five people you want to kill?"

Roy watched Miria, his expression calm.

Without any hesitation, Miria immediately revealed the names and identities of the five individuals.

Roy’s brow furrowed slightly as he listened to her explanation.

He had assumed Miria wanted to target the nobles neighboring the Snow Fox Domain.

He never expected her targets to be Count Frost Bear’s own Clan Knights.

What’s more, one of the Peak Knights was the Captain of Count Frost Bear’s Personal Guard.

’Could it be that the Snow Fox Tragedy was really orchestrated by Count Frost Bear, all to get his hands on the Three-headed Dog pup?’

The thought had barely formed in Roy’s mind when Miria, guessing what he was thinking, said quickly, "That’s right. The Wandering Knights who murdered my parents and the rest of my clan were Count Frost Bear’s subordinates."

"Most of the valuables they plundered from the castle were turned over to him."

Though Miria did her best to control her emotions, an irrepressible, intense killing intent still surfaced on her face as she spoke.

"When do you want to strike?"

Roy didn’t ask how Miria had discovered this; he cut straight to the timing of the attack.

He didn’t care whether Miria was telling the truth.

He had only one purpose for coming to the Snow Fox Domain: to help Miria eliminate her enemies and fulfill his pact with Allen.

He didn’t care about anything else.

"The sooner, the better!"

"If you don’t mind, I’d like to head for Bear Claw City right now," Miria said quickly.

Bear Claw City, the place she mentioned, is the capital city of Gel County.

Just as Count Rock Lion is the City Lord of Redwood City, the capital of Yorkshire, Count Frost Bear is the City Lord of Bear Claw City.

Additionally, Frost Bear Castle, much like Rock Lion Castle, was located outside the city, strategically positioned to support the capital.

"No problem. I’m ready whenever."

Roy replied without hesitation.

’The sooner this was done, the sooner he could fulfill his pact with Allen.’

"Good!"

"Then let’s set out shortly. Wait here for a moment, I need to go speak with Elena," Miria said quickly.

Roy said no more and simply nodded.

Seeing his acknowledgment, Miria rose, left the study, and disappeared from his view.

Time trickled by.

Less than ten minutes later, Miria returned.

Unlike before, she was now clad in silver-white armor, a Fine Steel Cross Sword hanging at her waist.

"Let’s go," Miria said to Roy.

"Alright."

Roy rose and walked to the study window.

Then, as Miria watched, he leaped out without a second glance.

Miria froze for a moment at the sight.

A few seconds later, she also went to the window, vaulting out to leave the study.

Effortlessly, they left Snow Fox Castle behind and made their way toward Bear Claw City.

Roy deliberately slowed his pace to match Miria’s.

Even so, he was no slower than a galloping warhorse.

Miria, who had wrapped her legs in Fighting Qi, saw Roy easily reach a speed faster than a warhorse without even using his own. Her expression grew complicated as she looked at him.

That detail alone was enough to prove his strength was far superior to hers.

"Um... have you also reached the rank of Peak Knight?" Miria asked suddenly.

"Yes, I advanced a short while ago," Roy replied.

Hearing his answer, Miria’s expression fell.

When she had set out for the Royal Capital, she had been on the verge of advancing to Peak Knight herself.

Yet even now, she still hadn’t managed to take that final step, remaining stuck at the High Tier Knight rank.

Miria said nothing, falling silent.

Seeing the disappointed look on her face, Roy decided to offer some advice. "Advancing, whether to Peak Knight or Great Knight, is a natural process."

"The more you fixate on it, the harder it becomes."

"The total volume, intensity, and control of your Fighting Qi have already met the standards for a Peak Knight."

"The only reason you haven’t advanced is that you’re overthinking it."

"Relax your mind. Stop thinking about the difference between a Peak Knight and a High Tier Knight. Just calmly circulate your Fighting Qi and let it gradually cover your entire body."

Miria looked at Roy, surprised.

Then, following Roy’s words, she relaxed her mind. She cast aside the so-called common knowledge that only a Peak Knight could make Fighting Qi cover their entire body and began to circulate her energy with a calm heart.

Once she stopped obsessing over the difference between a Peak Knight and a High Tier Knight and calmly let her Fighting Qi envelop her body, the Snow Fox Fighting Qi, which had previously only wrapped around her legs, began to spread.

Her legs, her abdomen, her chest, her arms, her head!

Before she knew it, the white Snow Fox Fighting Qi had enveloped her completely, like a raging Flame, leaving no part of her uncovered.

’I’ve advanced?’

’I’m a Peak Knight now?’

An expression of utter disbelief appeared on Miria’s face.
