Chapter 224: Chapter 224: War of Extermination

While the Three Wonders Wheel was being reforged in the flames, Andre continued to prepare Potions. He still had three more of its wheels to reforge.

Once the Three Wonders Wheel was reforged, Andre ignited the Magic Fire again and began merging the Wheel of Light and Darkness with the molten materials.

After the Wheel of Light and Darkness finished merging, next came the Four Symbols Wheel.

Once the Four Symbols Wheel was merged, it was time for the Chaos Wheel.

Of all the parts being reforged for the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel, the Chaos Wheel was the most difficult.

The Chaos Wheel was different from the other wheels.

Previously, the Chaos Wheel had only served as a relay point within the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel.

But now, he intended to inscribe the Origin Demon Pattern onto the Chaos Wheel.

This Origin Demon Pattern would serve to complete the overall architecture of the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel.

Once inscribed with the Origin Demon Pattern, the Chaos Wheel could use the new pattern to automatically absorb Magic Power and convert it into Chaos Magic Power.

If he succeeded, the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel would undergo a significant upgrade.

For one, the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel could unleash its full Power directly, without needing Andre to infuse it with Chaos Magic Power.

This would vastly increase the efficiency with which the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel could cast Witchcraft.

It would also reduce the drain on Andre’s own energy.

That would allow Andre to devote more of his time to the path of pursuing Truth.

But this was also the hardest part. First, he had to successfully inscribe the Origin Demon Pattern, and then he had to connect it to the existing Demon Patterns.

Normally, this step wouldn’t be particularly difficult for Andre.

Since the wheel had a disc-shaped structure, inscribing the Origin Demon Pattern at the very center was the simplest and easiest method.

However, for convenience in wearing it and using it at a moment’s notice, Andre had designed the original Chaos Wheel with a rather large central hole.

This had turned the wheel from a solid disc into a ring.

To inscribe the Origin Demon Pattern, he would either have to modify the Demon Patterns on the Chaos Wheel or forge an entirely new one.

After carefully calculating and assessing the materials he had on hand, Andre immediately chose to forge a new Chaos Wheel.

He would then fuse the old Chaos Wheel into the new one, allowing it to connect with the other three reforged wheels.

Otherwise, the newly reforged Three Wonders Wheel, Four Symbols Wheel, and Wheel of Light and Darkness would have to be completely remade and re-fused.

If he didn’t, the connection between the wheels would be lost.

And that was not an outcome he desired.

Andre took out a large quantity of materials and began forging the new Chaos Wheel.

This time, Andre again opted for a ring shape.

But this ring was different from the last one.

While it still had a hole in the center, it was far, far smaller than the one in the previous Chaos Wheel.

Its overall shape resembled a Jade Pendant, an ancient artifact from his previous life.

To forge this new Chaos Wheel, Andre still relied on his old method: using Elemental Crystals to construct the Power of Chaos.

But he also had a new idea.

Andre took out the four Elemental Crystals he had purchased from the Main Institute before the expedition.

He took them out and checked to ensure the Elements within the four Elemental Crystals were stable and balanced.

Once he confirmed they were balanced, Andre took out his Splitting Heavy Sword and began to cut the four Elemental Crystals into the shapes he needed.

This time, because he needed to leave blank space for the inscriptions, the Elemental Crystals he used were all relatively large.

These were the very same Elemental Crystals that had cost him a considerable amount of Magic Stones.

When he left the Main Institute, he had spent twenty to thirty million Medium Magic Stones on a large quantity of supplies.

Among those supplies, these four Elemental Crystals alone had cost him eight million Medium Magic Stones.

And that was with the Main Institute’s abundant resources making Elemental Crystals significantly cheaper than at the branch institutes.

Soon, Andre had carved out four semicircles. After checking their thickness, he sliced each one in half, creating two identical sets.

This would allow him to form two Chaos Wheels.

He was making two so he could sandwich the original Chaos Wheel between them, making it easier to transfer the Demon Patterns from the old wheel to the new one.

After checking the thickness one more time, Andre began to inscribe a Witchcraft Array on the pieces.

Once again, he inscribed the Array of Origin Retrospection. This Witchcraft Array would fuse the Four Great Elements together, creating a Chaotic State.

Then, he would use the Origin Demon Pattern to stabilize the center of the Array of Origin Retrospection, preventing it from exploding due to the elemental reactions under the influence of the Chaos Demon Pattern.

Without the Origin Demon Pattern to control it, any accident would cause the four Elemental Crystals to blow the entire Tomb of the Giant Elephant sky-high.

Just as Andre was about to use his Splitting Heavy Sword to begin inscribing the Array of Origin Retrospection, he suddenly froze, his ears twitching nonstop.

Karina, who had been observing him, put down her copy of the *Complete Witchcraft*.

"Did you hear that?" Andre asked, his ears still twitching.

"Hear what? No." Karina fell silent and listened intently, but she truly heard nothing.

"Did I just imagine it?"

A trace of doubt crossed Andre’s face, but he quickly sat back down.

’Right now, forging this new Chaos Wheel is the most important thing. Everything else can wait.’

At the same moment Andre’s ears had twitched, far above on the surface, more and more Giant Elephants had begun to gather.

They communicated with one another through constant, low trumpeting calls.

As the Giant Elephants arrived, other Magical Beast Races began to gather as well. They too had suffered attacks from the Giant Snake Race.

Originally, due to the vast difference in power, these other Magical Beast Races would have fled at the sight of the Giant Snake Race. But now, the Giant Elephant Race—the rulers of this continent—was declaring war on them. There was nothing left to discuss. It was time to settle old and new scores alike. They would follow the Giant Elephant Race and wage war against the Giant Snake Race.

Soon, the last of the Giant Elephant clans arrived.

A soaring trumpet call echoed out. Twelve hundred Giant Elephants raised their left forefeet and then stomped down upon the ground in unison.

With a tremendous BOOM, the ground began to fracture and split apart.

The cracks spread for several hundred meters before stopping at a layer of bedrock.

The Giant Elephants merely glanced at it before raising their forefeet once more and bringing them crashing down. Empowered by Witchcraft, even the incredibly hard bedrock could not withstand such an impact.

Instantly, the bedrock shattered, sending dust and debris flying into the sky.

The Giant Elephants paid it no mind, continuing to slam the ground with their Witchcraft-infused stomps.

And so it went. After an unknown number of stomps, the deep pit that had always been hidden underground, devoid of light, was suddenly flooded with sunlight from the surface.

With that, the all-out war between the Giant Elephant Race and the Giant Snake Race had officially begun.
