Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 285 - 287: Slaying the Child of the Era
Chapter 285: Chapter 287: Slaying the Child of the Era
If this method could be understood and Andre’s experience replicated on a mass scale, it would grant him an incredibly lofty status in the Wizard World. He might even be summoned for an audience with the great figures who guarded the very source of the Wizard Civilization.
But now, Andre was using Klein as a shield and refused to reveal the method.
This left the Dean deeply puzzled, wondering what kind of path could possibly make Klein order Andre to keep his mouth shut.
"I really can’t say!"
Andre said helplessly, looking at the Dean.
"Fine. It’s perfectly normal for people to hide their path before they’ve fully matured."
A flicker of disappointment crossed the Dean’s eyes.
"Dean, you just spoke about the Child of the World and the Child of the Age, but you didn’t explain how Andre has control over the world’s resource allocation, did you?"
Sokra, noticing the Dean’s souring expression, quickly changed the subject to draw the Dean’s attention away from Andre’s path, shifting the focus to the matter of resource allocation.
It was precisely this power of resource allocation that had made the Dean consider offering Andre the position of honorary vice dean.
"Resource allocation? Didn’t I just mention that?"
the Dean retorted upon hearing Sokra’s question.
"Did you?"
Sokra and the captain blinked, looking at the Dean with puzzled expressions.
"I just told you, didn’t I?"
the Dean repeated, looking at the two of them.
"Were you referring to how the world’s consciousness would grant me vast resources through fortuitous encounters, or what you called ’serendipitous opportunities’?"
Andre asked earnestly, looking at the Dean.
"Yes, but that’s how the world’s consciousness treats a Child of the Age."
"For you, the true Child of the World, you can communicate with the world’s consciousness through the Crown. This allows you to see everything happening within the Cosmic Sea World.
"Through this, you can know the distribution of all resources in the Cosmic Sea World.
"You can even use the world’s consciousness to directly obtain these resources or hide them away."
"However, to do that, you would need to reach the position of Master of Worlds."
"Furthermore, you also possess everything that the Child of the Age has."
"As long as you hold this position, you will continue to have your own fortuitous encounters within the Cosmic Sea World."
The Dean nodded at Andre as he spoke.
After the Dean finished speaking, the captain and Sokra turned to look at Andre.
At that moment, both of their eyes glowed with a greedy green light.
The two of them looked as if they wanted nothing more than to drag Andre off to the Cosmic Sea World for a treasure hunt right then and there.
After all, the Cosmic Sea World had just been promoted to a Level 5 World.
It was currently in its most rapid phase of evolution.
A Level 5 World was capable of producing a Red Sun Great Wizard, and Red Sun Great Wizards typically wielded a portion of the Power of Truth.
In other words, treasures containing the Power of Truth were currently being formed within the Cosmic Sea World.
This was also the period when the greatest number of such treasures would emerge.
"Dean, now that Andre has become the Cosmic Sea World’s Child of the World..."
"...there’s no need to keep the former Child of the Age around, is there?"
Sokra slowly reined in his greed and looked at the Dean.
The Dean nodded, then grabbed Andre’s shoulder. With a wave of his free left hand, a white portal slowly opened.
On the other side of the portal was the Cosmic Sea World.
The Dean then led Andre off the mothership and into the Cosmic Sea World.
Upon returning to the Cosmic Sea World, Andre could clearly feel the surrounding Magic Power and various Elements scrambling to surge into his body.
"This is one of the perks of being the Child of the World."
The Dean, of course, could sense what was happening around Andre.
Then, with a wave of one hand, the Dean cast a Witchcraft spell upon himself.
After the Witchcraft took effect, the Dean nodded in satisfaction.
"Just as I thought. The world’s consciousness is no longer suppressing us. This alone will increase the speed at which the institute conquers the Cosmic Sea World by seventy percent."
"With this contribution, let’s see who dares to say a single word against you taking the position of honorary vice dean."
With that said, the Dean once again swiped a hand through the air and led Andre through.
When the two of them emerged, they saw a young man sitting on the ground, watching a stone pot.
Inside the stone pot, a Magical Beast’s Bloodline was being refined.
"A Level 3 Wizard!"
Andre’s expression changed the moment he saw the man.
He could sense that the man’s Realm was already equivalent to a Level 3 Wizard. In fact, he was far along that path, almost on the verge of becoming a Morning Star.
When the Dean and Andre arrived, the man looked up and saw them.
The man’s face fell, and he immediately tried to get up and flee.
Just as he was about to shatter a bone tablet in his hand, the Dean flicked a finger and tapped the spot between Andre’s eyebrows.
Instantly, a spectral image of the Crown appeared. A wave of the Power of the World descended on the area, and the man’s movements froze.
"Go kill him."
Feeling the Power of the World descend, the Dean’s smile widened. He pointed at the man and said to Andre,
"Me?"
Andre blinked, not quite understanding the Dean’s intentions.
"When two tigers fight, one is bound to be injured, or they might even destroy each other."
"This fellow has received help from the world’s consciousness quite a few times."
"Under these circumstances, only you, as the Child of the World, can kill him without provoking the world’s consciousness into hostility."
"If I were to act personally, all the goodwill you’ve built up would be destroyed."
"The world’s consciousness would grow to despise us even more. It would then spare no expense to mass-produce more Children of the Age just like him."
"And that would, once again, greatly slow the institute’s progress in conquering the Cosmic Sea World."
The Dean explained to Andre why he couldn’t be the one to act.
Andre listened to the Dean, nodded, and then drew the Splitting Heavy Sword from his Storage Ring. He walked up to the man.
With the descent of the Power of the World, everything in the area had frozen in time.
But the Power of the World had no effect on Andre.
With just a light swing of the Splitting Heavy Sword, Andre killed the man.
The man’s head then fell to the ground.
Just as the man’s head hit the ground, it suddenly flew back into the air. His eyes, sealed shut in death, snapped open once more.
At that moment, a spectral image of a sword quietly emerged from between the man’s eyebrows. The sword then detached from the man’s head, flew directly to the spot between Andre’s eyebrows, and merged with the spectral image of the Crown.
