Chapter 51: Gains and Plans
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Gains and Plans
"This is an Ability of the Eye of Truth?"
Radak looked puzzled after hearing Andre’s words.
When he had first taken Andre on as his disciple, he had read every book in the Wizard Inheritance Hall related to the Eye of Truth, but none of them contained any description of this.
’Perhaps this is just a difference in Talent Witchcraft!’
Radak didn’t dwell on it. Everyone has their own secrets, especially when it comes to Talent Witchcraft.
"So, after four months away, are you prepared to touch upon Truth?"
Radak continued his inquiry. Andre had been a High Level Wizard Apprentice for five months. By now, he should have formed a concept of Truth in his mind.
But having a concept didn’t mean Andre would follow it. Many a Wizard’s Ladder of Truth had been shattered and reforged multiple times.
"I have a rough idea, but it still needs a lot of substance to fill it in. Only when I truly reached this level did I realize how little knowledge I actually possess."
Andre nodded. He indeed had a few budding ideas, but they wouldn’t connect with each other; they lacked a linking point.
Once Andre realized this, he immediately understood the root of the problem.
"All the books in the Hall are open to you. I look forward to seeing the Truth in your eyes!"
Radak extended his hand, drew a Witchcraft Curse Seal, and placed it on Andre.
"This is the authority to control the Witch Array that guards the Wizard Inheritance Hall. I am now granting a portion of it to you. You can now go and read any book you wish."
Radak explained, seeing Andre’s confusion.
"Teacher, you’re just giving me authority over the Witch Array like this? Won’t this cause any trouble for you?"
Andre never imagined Radak would value him so highly, enough to hand over a portion of the Witch Array’s authority before he had even become an Official Wizard.
"No one, not even the Main Institute, can question my decision."
Radak’s response to Andre’s question was domineering and direct.
"Thank you, Teacher!" Andre said immediately upon hearing this.
"Mm, your time is short. You have nine years. Within those nine years, you must become an Official Wizard. Only then can you cross the Star Realm Gate and join the expedition."
After giving Andre this reminder, Radak vanished from sight.
’Nine years? That’s really not enough time!’
Andre’s expression darkened. He already had a concept for the Ladder of Truth he would use to become an Official Wizard.
Based on his diligent study of Demon Pattern Study, he wanted to use the four fundamental elements—earth, wind, water, and fire—as his Ladder of Truth to become an Official Wizard.
At the same time, his Talent was suited for learning Thunder Element Witchcraft, so it was only natural to add the Thunder Element into the mix.
But just combining the Four Great Elements to construct a Ladder of Truth was as difficult as a newborn defeating a Giant Dragon.
Adding the Thunder Element on top of that would cause the difficulty to skyrocket.
There had been people in the history of the Wizard World who had fused the four elements of earth, wind, water, and fire to form their Ladder of Truth, so there was a precedent for Andre to follow.
However, no one had ever fused the Thunder Element into it.
No one. To this day, not a single person.
Although there were many kinds of Thunder Element Witchcraft—like Destructive Thunder, Bright Lightning, Roar of Fire, and Wind Fury—no one had ever integrated the Thunder Element with the Four Great Elements.
’Thunder Element Witchcraft is one of the strongest offensive forms of Witchcraft, while Witchcraft of the Four Great Elements is the most common.’
’If I can fuse them together, opening the first spatial node shouldn’t be a problem.’
A flicker of lightning flashed in Andre’s eyes.
His four months in the Black and White Forest were not spent in vain.
Using his skills in Potion alchemy, he had already mastered the Meditation Technique Krell had given him. At the same time, he had used Potions to collect a large number of maps and books.
This was also why Andre felt that the Wizards living in the Black and White Forest were all black-hearted.
It was incredibly difficult to trade for anything from those people, but there were some benefits.
Four months of collecting books and maps had allowed him to decipher the information released by the Chain of Hatred when he constructed his Magic Heart.
After deciphering it, Andre discovered that this information pointed to one of the spatial nodes left behind by his ancestors.
It was precisely for this reason that Andre had started collecting maps.
After comparing them, he discovered that the location of this spatial node was not far from the Black and White Forest.
To verify it and avoid going to the wrong place, Andre spent a week traveling to the location. Once there, he could indeed feel something in that place pulling at him.
But unfortunately, his strength was insufficient to break the seal on the spatial node, so he could only return to the Black and White Forest to complete the task Farrete had given him.
’If I can construct my first Ladder of Truth with five great elements, and then combine them, the power of the resulting composite Witchcraft would be enough to break the seal on that spatial node.’
’After more than 3,000 years, and having gone through a world degradation, the seal on this spatial node is already extremely weak. When the time comes, I’ll have an entire Secret Realm to myself. The resources within will be enough for me to survive the expedition.’
At this thought, Andre took two deep breaths and suppressed the idea in his heart. His current knowledge base was far too small. Even with a concept, he couldn’t construct his own Ladder of Truth.
"Knowledge... knowledge!" Andre turned his head to look at the Hall of Truth.
Whether or not he could have that Secret Realm all to himself would depend on whether the books in the Wizard Inheritance Hall were sufficient.
But for now, he had to deal with the gains from this trip and exchange them for resources.
Especially the things he had brought out of Secret Realm No. 1. He had to find a way to plant them now.
If he didn’t plant these Magic Plants soon, they would wither and die from lack of nutrients inside his Storage Ring.
He still remembered the contract he had made with the Mixed-blood Dragon Beast Tribe.
’Six Storage Rings and a Spatial Bag should be enough to trade for a Magic Plant Space. But whether I can actually get one depends on whether anyone in the academy is willing to make the exchange!’
Andre took a deep breath and walked toward Potato.
Potato began to get excited as he approached.
Ever since he had fused with the Magic Heart, Potato had become unusually close to him.
He wondered if it was because of the Earth Elemental Bear heart he had fused with.
"Here you go!" Andre took a Honeycomb from his Storage Ring and stuffed it into Potato’s mouth. As Potato tasted the sweetness, the fluffy ears on its head twitched nonstop.
