He deactivated Shadow Step.

In an instant, Wei’en exited the Realm of Death, his figure appearing right where the Pyramid was—or more precisely, landing on its very apex.

[You have touched a repository of an unknown being’s murderous intent... Reward: Survival Points +20.]

Wei’en studied the Pyramid beneath his feet, a flicker of doubt in his eyes. ’It’s different?’

This Pyramid, mostly submerged beneath the sea, was entirely blood-red, unlike the silver-white one he had seen on Dakman Island. It was also much smaller, no more than five meters long.

Furthermore, its surface lacked the bizarre, twisted, and asymmetrical runes, meaning it clearly didn’t function as that Alchemy Array had.

’Or maybe... this is one of those containers for murderous intent, the ones scattered across the sea?’

Wei’en scanned the area. After a sweep with his spiritual senses revealed no other anomalies, he stored the Pyramid in his Space Ring.

"ROAR—"

As the Pyramid vanished, the surrounding seawater instantly filled the empty space. The strange disturbance drew the Deep Sea abominations, which came surging toward the location.

Before they could reach him, Wei’en’s figure vanished. He used Shadow Step again to return to the *Leonard*.

Clelia was leaning against the ship’s rail, watching the nearby *Golden Orchid*. When she sensed the movement behind her, the Twilight Secret Cultivators at her side all turned to look at Wei’en.

"Find anything interesting, my dear Captain~?"

"Mm," Wei’en replied calmly. "It’s likely something belonging to the Dusk Sect."

"Oh?"

Clelia turned around, leaning her back against the rail as she faced him. She chuckled. "Is it like the one we saw on the island?"

"It’s different. It doesn’t have those Alchemy Runes."

Wei’en shook his head, then glanced at the Twilight Secret Cultivators. "However, it’s very likely related to them."

"Probably," Clelia said. She twitched a finger, making one of the Twilight Secret Cultivators step forward. In a lazy drawl, she asked, "Was this your handiwork?"

’Hm?’

Wei’en’s expression flickered. ’Could it be...?’

"Yes. It is a mark left by the great Lord of Truth!" The cloth strips binding the Twilight Secret Cultivator’s face stirred around his mouth, and a voice that sounded like countless people speaking at once emerged.

"What’s it for?"

"It... it is used to collect the intent of slaughter... to coalesce the Origin of slaughter... for, for sacrifice..."

Before he could finish, the dingy yellow cloth strips on the Twilight Secret Cultivator’s body tore apart, revealing a gap. A gaunt, illusory head squeezed out from the opening and glared venomously at Clelia. "ROAR! Blasphemy! Insolence! You heretics from the Illusion World, how dare you control me!?"

"Oh?" Clelia watched him, surprised. "So there’s one that got away?"

Wei’en frowned as well, his eyes fixed on the gaunt, tall figure. "Need any help?"

"Of course... I don’t!" Clelia shot him a flirtatious glance. "It’s the perfect chance to show you my newly acquired ability."

"HISS!"

The Twilight Secret Cultivator struggled and leaped up. The cloth strips around its body unraveled and fell away as all the illusory heads instantly burst forth from its withered form.

However, it was clear the heads were still under Clelia’s control. Instead of attacking Wei’en and Clelia, they pounced on the gaunt head one after another, tearing at it viciously.

"I’ll kill you!"

"You shameless bastard!"

"Disgusting butcher..."

The gaunt head shrieked, struggling to drive the other heads away, but in the cramped confines of the body, its resistance was futile.

"Damn it, you all—"

"Puppetry - Control!"

Just then, Clelia twitched her fingers. Countless black threads shot out, their ends burrowing into the illusory heads while other strands wrapped around the Secret Cultivator’s body.

’Puppetry?’

Wei’en observed her actions closely. To his spiritual senses, the feedback from the black threads felt nothing like the shadow teleportation Clelia had used before. Instead, it felt much more like the illusory heads on the Twilight Secret Cultivator.

’Soul Power?’

"Be still, now~" Clelia licked her lips and crooked a single finger in a teasing gesture, causing the Twilight Secret Cultivator to let out an inhuman scream.

"You... what did you do?!"

"’You’? It seems you’re from this world after all. How come you’ve dropped the formal pronouns?"

The gaunt head’s eyes gleamed with malice. It glared at Clelia and Wei’en and shouted, its voice dripping with venom, "Don’t you get complacent! This false world will perish sooner or later!"

"And how long will that take?" Clelia pursed her lips. "Ah, never mind. I doubt you’d know anyway..."

With that, she raised her hand. The black threads manipulated the countless illusory heads, which swarmed forward and devoured the gaunt head.

"The Lord of Truth... will not spare you!!"

A bloodcurdling scream echoed across the deck of the *Leonard*. The surrounding pirates, who had been on high alert, collectively breathed a sigh of relief when the head vanished before going back to scrubbing the deck.

Watching this, Wei’en gained a new appreciation for Clelia’s power. ’She can easily defeat a Director Level Twilight Secret Cultivator... Her strength must be at least Regent Level!’

Clelia waved her hand, dismissing the black threads. The heads retreated back into the body, which was once again bound by the tattered cloth strips. Her bright eyes landed on Wei’en as she gave him a bewitching smile. "So, was I impressive?"
