Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 610 - 236: Mechanical Undead No. 1 (2)
After recording the entire experimental process, Wei’en placed the parchment on a nearby workbench and pressed another Rune Array on the Binding Platform.
As the Rune Power of the Array flared, a beam of light on the Binding Platform slowly swept across the zombie’s body. A stiff, mechanical voice sounded out.
"Undead Species: Zombie."
"Toughness Level: 243 (100-400)"
"Spirit Level: 122 (100-400)"
"Origin: 11+11 (10-50)"
"..."
This was an attribute-detecting instrument Wei’en had specially created based on the panel. The values were calibrated using his own base attributes as a reference. It could be considered his greatest invention in some time.
But when he heard the zombie’s attribute values from the instrument, he couldn’t help but frown.
Compared to the one hundred of a normal Undead Creature promoting to Director Level, this zombie’s physical strength had nearly doubled. Its Spiritual Power had also increased slightly, but its Origin value had dropped significantly.
After a few seconds of thought, he understood. His gaze fell on the Mechanical Heart in the zombie’s chest. ’It seems that after the Origin Power was split, the total amount remained the same, but the Origin of a single core was reduced.’
’In that case, the Origin Power it needs to advance will be doubled...’
Thinking of this, Wei’en stepped forward, deactivated all the Rune Arrays, and released the zombie from its restraints.
"Hrr, hrr-hrr..."
The zombie sensed the restraints on its body disappear. Its mouth opened slightly, letting out a few low growls as it slowly hopped off the Binding Platform.
THUD, PLOP!
’It knelt and fell?’
Seeing this, Wei’en gestured for the parchment and added a final note: *Post-promotion, physical coordination is greatly reduced.*
"How do you feel?"
"Hrr, hrr-hrr... G-good. Very!"
The zombie habitually knelt on its Undying Body leg and tried to lift the mechanical one, moving it a few times.
"Leg... leg... I... I think I can feel its weight..."
"Weight?"
Wei’en extended his Spiritual Power to perceive it. He saw that the power flowing through the Rune Patterns on the mechanical leg came only from the Mechanical Heart. The Origin Core in its head wasn’t controlling it.
’So that’s it. A single core’s Origin can’t support the operation of the mechanical body. It needs to be raised to the Origin Power level of a normal zombie post-promotion...’
"Are you also feeling hungry? A desire to devour?"
"Yes... yes..." The zombie suddenly raised its head. On its face—a combination of white and black, one half undying and one half mechanical—its matching red eyes flickered erratically, and drool trickled from the corner of its mouth.
"Wait a moment."
Wei’en paid no mind to its desire to devour him. He took out several Director Level Undead Origin Cores from his Space Ring, tossed them on the ground, and said, "Eat."
That was pure Origin extracted from Undead Creatures. A single one sold for twice the price of a normal Director Level Undead Creature. ’Who knows how much technical skill is involved in that...’
The zombie lunged forward, grabbed the Undead Origin Cores, and shoved them into its mouth. A deep, dark mist rose up, enveloping its body. The two cores within it devoured and absorbed a massive amount of Origin Power, with barely a wisp wasted.
’Oh, its consumption efficiency has also improved...’
Wei’en jotted down another note on the parchment, then shone the light from the Binding Platform on the zombie again to observe the changes in its body.
"Toughness Level: 255"
"Spirit Level: 140"
"Origin: 22+22"
"..."
Hearing the voice from the mechanical device, Wei’en wanted to curse: ’Damn it!’
’Eight hundred gold pounds’ worth of Origin Cores only raised a single core’s Origin by 11 points?’
’To get this zombie to the Director Level, which means getting a single core to 50 Origin, it would cost at least another two thousand gold pounds...’
’By that calculation, upgrading a Captain-level zombie to a Director Level Mechanical Zombie would cost as much as sixty-five hundred gold pounds?’
’A top-tier Director Level Undead Creature only costs five thousand gold pounds...’
’If I were to upgrade a Director Level Undead Creature with mechanical modifications, it should only cost three thousand gold pounds. That’s still too expensive...’
Wei’en shook his head. ’Looking at the numbers, my previous ideas were a bit naive.’
’Unless there are ready-made modification materials over in the Undead World, plus assembly-line style mechanical modification factories, combined with an endless supply of Origin Cores...’
Thinking this, Wei’en looked thoughtfully at the zombie, which had finished devouring the Origin Cores. ’A trip to the Undead World will be necessary in the future.’
’I not only need to retrieve those Undead Creatures with the "Deadpool" status, but also conduct a field survey to see if the idea of building mechanical modification factories in the Undead World is feasible.’
"And now? How does it feel?"
"Great!"
The Mechanical Zombie opened and clenched its hands. The Rune Arrays on its mechanical half flashed, illuminating the other, withered half of its Undying Body. It leaped about nimbly a few times.
"No, this feeling is incredible!"
"ROAR-HRR-HRR... Power... power..."
Wei’en frowned slightly and waved his hand, having a phantom cast a Bone Prison Spell.
"Aumu, Erbie, Reyham." (Bone Prison!)
A faint, dark black light flashed, and several latticed walls made of crystalline white bone materialized, trapping the zombie inside.
[Your Magic, Bone Prison (Death God), has successfully controlled the Undead Creature - Zombie. Evaluation: Did you really need to spend ten points of Spiritual Power on a single Director Level Undead Creature? Reward: Survival Points +5.]
’Of course I did!’
Wei’en pursed his lips. ’It’s not just some ordinary Director Level zombie. It’s five thousand walking gold pounds...’
"ROAR—detestable Wizard, what are you doing, trapping me?"
"While I admit you’re much better than those Evil Mages, that doesn’t mean you have the right to imprison me!"
