Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 624 Shadi Cayetano (2)
However, research had shown that as an Undead Creature’s level increased, not only did its mechanical equipment need to be replaced, but the modified parts were often inferior to a natural Undying Body of the same level.
That was why so few Wizards within the school researched this topic.
But now, after seeing this research report, complete with experimental case studies and finalized data parameters, Josue felt a thrill of excitement.
Even though his body had long since been transformed into a skeleton, making emotional fluctuations difficult, he was still shaken by the report’s contents.
He could only imagine how terrifyingly powerful the Ghost Soul School would become if this research were perfected and completed. It would mean an increase in strength of at least fifty percent...
"The function of the Mechanical Heart Rune Device: To serve as a second Origin Core for a Mechanical Undead, the power hub of the mechanical body, and the control area for the Rune Array Board Card..."
CLANG!
As he read to the very end—to the introduction of the research branch on Rune Array Board Cards and the results of the advancement experiments—Josue froze on the spot.
The intense turmoil in his Spirit caused his Origin Core’s power to surge, and he began to radiate a Spiritual Power that was already approaching the Legendary level, instantly whipping up a storm within the relatively spacious office.
The terrifying pressure made the other directors, all Great Mages themselves, frown. They couldn’t understand what Dean Josue had seen to make him lose his composure so completely.
"D-Dean..."
Teresa, the weakest person in the room, was nearly sent flying by the force. Her face paled as she struggled to speak.
BAM!
Just then, the door shattered. A shadowy figure flashed past, knocking all the Great Mages aside and positioning itself in front of Teresa.
"What do you think you’re doing to the heir of the Silvira Clan?!"
An even more terrifying Origin Power weighed down on them like a mountain. The Great Mages, who had been caught off guard and sent flying, were instantly pinned to the floor.
BOOM, BOOM...
The next second, the brilliance of Magic Runes flared to life on the Great Mages’ bodies, their eyes filling with cold, murderous intent.
"An attack?"
"Summon Undead!"
"Bone Wall!"
A few quick-reacting Great Mages already had several Undead Creatures standing before them, staring warily at the newcomer. "Who are you?!"
...
"Stop!" Josue snapped back to his senses. Recognizing the person standing before Teresa, his jaw clacked as he shouted, "Cancel the Magic! She’s not an enemy!"
"Stand down!"
Teresa, reacting at the same time, quickly looked at the newcomer. "Don’t attack, Camilla! There are no enemies here, and the Dean didn’t mean to..."
"Y-yes, Lady Camilla, I was just preoccupied with something..." Josue clutched the parchment in his hand, bowing to the woman standing before Teresa. "My sincerest apologies."
Then, he turned to the directors on the other side, gesturing with his staff. "This is Lady Camilla of the Silvira Clan. Dispel your Magic at once."
’Dammit, have these Great Mages studied so much their brains have rotted?’
’Can’t they see she’s a Legendary-rank Extraordinary?’
’Even if she were an enemy—which she isn’t—we can’t fight a Legendary-rank Extraordinary in such a confined space!’
’Such fools!’
"Our apologies, Lady Camilla."
"Apologies..."
Camilla’s expression was frosty. "Josue, don’t do anything foolish. Even if you have grievances with Miss Teresa, you must abide by the agreement between the Silvira Clan and the Ghost Soul School."
"I don’t. This was just an accident."
"It had better be."
After confirming Teresa was in no danger, Camilla shot Josue a cold glare and turned to leave.
At this, everyone let out a collective sigh of relief.
For Wizards, having a Legendary-rank Extraordinary get that close was immensely stressful.
Teresa looked at the shattered door and at her clan’s Legendary Guard, who stood at the entrance with her arms crossed, still vigilant. Feeling a little more at ease, she asked, "Dean, what happened just now? For a second, I thought you were going to kill me."
"Yes, Josue, what did you see? What could make you lose your composure like that? Especially after you’ve already been transformed into an Undead Creature..."
"Dean, was the report’s content so fraudulent that it made you angry?"
"Or perhaps the report’s value was too low..."
"It’s neither of those!"
Josue leaned back in his high-backed chair and carefully placed the research report on his desk, smoothing it open. After a few moments of thought, he looked at Teresa.
"Is Wei’en really willing to use this report to compete against the Shadow School?"
"Yes, Dean. That’s what the Director said. Originally, he only planned to submit the section on the advancement experiment, but after he learned about the situation with the Shadow School, he specifically instructed us to add the part about the Rune Array Board Card."
Hearing this, a smile returned to Teresa’s face. Now she understood why Dean Josue had lost his composure earlier.
’I told them the report was comparable to the research on "Origin Trait Fusion," but they wouldn’t believe me.’
"I see..." Josue said, a hint of emotion in his voice. "I didn’t realize Wei’en cared so much about the school. It seems we’ll have to increase the support for your Research Center. I’ll discuss the specifics with you after I’ve reported to Boras Legend."
"Really? The Director has been saying our research funding is insufficient. He even instructed us to only run two experiments at a time..."
"Wait a minute!"
The Great Mages, who had been waiting to see the report proven a joke, saw the two of them start chatting as if no one else was there—discussing support for the Research Center, research funding...
