Chapter 633: Chapter 52: Dao Transformation Level 120%

"Brother... Brother."

A gentle voice sounded beside his ear, pulling Murphy from his distant thoughts and back to reality.

He blinked, finding himself sitting on the platform in front of the stone house.

The afterglow of the setting sun dyed the entire sky a warm orange-red. The silhouettes of the three main peaks stood out, exceptionally majestic against the skyline.

Aurora sat beside him in a simple white gown. The evening wind lifted a few strands of her long, golden hair, which brushed gently against his arm.

She turned her head, her eyes, as blue as the Jade Sea, gazing at him with a gentle smile.

"How was Mo Ling’s graduation ceremony?"

Murphy fell silent for a moment, his gaze drifting toward the distant Tower of Revelation, which glinted gold in the setting sun.

"It was good," he began slowly, his voice tinged with an indescribable feeling. "Watching those kids go up on stage one by one, telling their stories, talking about the changes over the years... I was thinking, ’So I really have been here and done so much.’ "

He paused, then continued, "Marcus, the boy from the fishing village. He said his greatest wish as a child was just to have a full meal. He never imagined he’d be able to stand before me and receive a degree. And that one girl... she had to walk for miles every day to attend class, her feet cracking from the winter cold..."

Aurora listened quietly without interrupting.

Murphy turned to look at her. "I was wondering, when did all of this begin? That winter in the Duval Territory? The banquet at Taymer Palace? Or was it the decision on the altar in the Holy City?"

"None of that matters," Aurora said softly. "What’s important is that you did it, and you succeeded."

She reached out, gently placing her hand over the back of his. It was warm and soft. "You gave those children a chance to change their fates. You fed countless people. You brought knowledge into thousands of homes. Brother, this is your Path. You’ve been walking it all along."

Murphy looked at her hand, then into her eyes, and shook his head.

"It’s only because you supported me that I’ve come this far."

His voice was quiet but earnest. "Without you, I never would have thought of becoming a part of this world. Back then, all I wanted was to find my way back, to finish my own business. It was you... who made me feel that this place could also be home."

Aurora’s eyes quivered slightly.

"Brother," she said softly, leaning a little closer, "it’s you who supported me."

"I was just a little girl back then. Those people in the territory were watching my mother and me like predators. If it weren’t for you, I might have..."

She didn’t finish, merely tightening her grip on his hand.

Murphy looked at her, at the reflection of the setting sun in her eyes, and an indescribable warmth washed over him.

He turned his hand to clasp hers, their fingers intertwining.

The two of them sat there in silence, letting the evening wind blow over them as dusk deepened.

After an unknown amount of time, Murphy suddenly spoke:

"Have I been spacing out a lot lately?"

Aurora tilted her head to look at him, a hint of confusion in her eyes.

Murphy continued, "Mo Ling said I was spacing out. At the graduation ceremony, I zoned out. When it was her turn, I zoned out again, thinking about other things. And just now, before you called me, I was spacing out then, too."

He paused, a rare confusion in his tone. "I was never like this before."

Aurora looked at him, her expression calm, even holding a hint of a smile.

"Isn’t this just a side effect of your 120% Dao Transformation Level?"

Murphy was taken aback.

Aurora continued, "After you defeated the Ironspine Duke, your Dao Transformation Level has been steadily increasing. You’re the one who said that once it reached 120%, you would start to lose yourself from time to time."

"After the Dao Transformation Level exceeds 100%, for every point it increases, the boundary between the self and the world blurs a little more."

"Those moments you space out are actually proof of you wavering between yourself and the world."

Murphy was silent for a moment. "Did I say that?"

"You also said back then that as long as you can break through to the Golden Core realm, you’ll solve this problem," Aurora said softly, her gaze gentle. "So, Brother, don’t worry too much. Since you know the cause, you must know the solution."

Murphy gazed at her.

"’Golden Core...’"

...

Murphy’s figure rose from the Holy City, transforming into a streak of crimson light. In an instant, he crossed a distance of fifteen hundred kilometers and landed on the platform in front of the main building of Taymer Palace.

After his Dao Transformation Level reached 120%, he could control the laws of the world on a deeper level.

He had reached a state of unity with the Dao, where his body would arrive as soon as his will moved.

It was as if the world itself was an extension of his body.

He shot past clouds, over mountains, across plains and rivers.

A distance of fifteen hundred kilometers, crossed in less than twenty seconds.

Below, the white palace complex of Taymer Palace grew clearer in the twilight. Pinpricks of light had already begun to shine, like stars scattered across the mountainside.

Murphy retracted his sword light, his figure landing silently on the balcony in front of the palace’s main building.

The very instant he landed—

"Father!"

A figure rushed out of the room and threw herself straight into his arms, wrapping her hands tightly around his waist.

Murphy looked down at the person in his arms, feeling somewhat helpless.

The thirty-six-year-old Eleanor still had the appearance of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl.

Her long, black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, a few mischievous strands scattered along the side of her fair neck.

Her jet-black eyes were sparkling as she looked up at him, the corners of her mouth curved into a sweet arc.

She was wearing a light pink silk nightgown, its collar and cuffs adorned with delicate lace. The hemline fell just past her knees, revealing her smooth, slender calves.
