Chapter 145 -107: Pack Everything Up and Take It Away!

The remaining Lords retreated even further.

Chen Shang didn’t look back. He kept walking forward, only breathing a sigh of relief when the High Tower was right in front of them. It was finally safe here.

Twilight pulled him along and activated the return coordinates. The four of them quickly stepped into the Teleportation Gate.

Many Lords watched from afar. The one Chen Shang had tricked, in particular, had eyes filled with rage and indignation.

As the Teleportation Gate’s white light faded, Chen Shang found himself standing in the Teleportation Hall of Elemental Storm’s Third Branch.

His body was still trembling slightly. Inside him, the Second Magic Spring felt like a furnace stuffed with too much firewood. Flames churned within it, and occasionally, stray wisps of uncontrollable heat surged through his meridians to his fingertips, distorting the air in small, rippling circles.

Several perceptive Wizards and Apprentices had already noticed his unusual state.

Evelyn supported him by one arm while Ella took the other. Twilight walked ahead to clear a path.

Arriving at the front desk, he took out his Elemental Storm visiting member badge. His voice was slightly hoarse. “I need to rent an Elemental Chamber. One specialized for the Fire Element.”

The receptionist quickly processed his request. A room suitable for the Heart of Fire wasn’t cheap—two hundred Wizard Coins a day—but Chen Shang didn’t hesitate. He quickly swiped his card, paid, and pushed the door open to enter.

The room wasn’t large; it was a standard-issue chamber. In the center sat a circular control console. Floating above it was a fist-sized Fire Element Crystal, slowly rotating and releasing a steady, intense heat. The concentration of Fire Element in this room was several times higher than outside. The air was so dry it felt as if it could evaporate the moisture right out of a person’s lungs.

The moment Chen Shang stepped inside, the churning in his Second Magic Spring genuinely calmed down a bit. He released the Heart of Fire.

The pale gold sphere of light floated up, slowly expanding in the air. It grew from the size of a walnut to a fist, and then from a fist to the size of a human head. Hovering in the center of the Elemental Chamber, the light on the sphere’s surface greedily absorbed the surrounding Fire Element. It pulsed rhythmically, much like a newly awakened heart.

“The Fire Element here is quite rich,” the Heart of Fire’s Spirit fluctuations transmitted, carrying a hint of pickiness, “but it’s not as good as my birthplace.”

Chen Shang ignored it. He walked over to the control console and turned the Fire Element concentration up a notch. The Elemental Chamber’s Rune Array flared brightly, and the heat in the air spiked even further.

The Heart of Fire absorbed the energy even faster, and the pulsing frequency of the light sphere stabilized.

Leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, Chen Shang watched the sphere. “This is just a temporary place to keep you. Without the threat of those Lords here, I can solve the issue of your Wind Element erosion.”

The Heart of Fire’s light brightened. “Really? That’s great! When do we start?”

Chen Shang paused for a moment. “Uh, after I finish handling a few things.” He walked to the wall and tapped a few times on a Crystal Plate, bringing up the index of papers regarding the birth and evolution of Innate Divine Spirits from Elemental Storm’s internal database. “You can first read up on how your predecessors evolved.”

Densely packed thesis titles spanned several pages on the Crystal Plate. Beneath each title lay anywhere from dozens to hundreds of pages of content.

The Heart of Fire’s light leaned closer. The sphere bobbed in front of the Crystal Plate a few times before slowly dimming in embarrassment. “I can’t read.”

Another illiterate one. Chen Shang sighed and released Surtr and the Golden Crow from his Space Book.

Surtr’s massive body nearly filled the remaining space in the Elemental Chamber. Its dark red skin resonated with the Fire Element in the room, making it narrow its eyes in comfort.

The Golden Crow flew up from Surtr’s shoulder and landed on the Crystal Plate rack, tilting its head as it examined the sphere of light.

“Surtr, Golden Crow,” Chen Shang said, pointing at the Heart of Fire. “Teach it how to read. Wizard Common Language. Teach it some common sense while you’re at it.”

The Golden Crow’s feathers puffed up. “Boss, I—”

“Cut the crap. Your level is more than enough to teach a newborn.” Chen Shang turned and walked toward the door. “Surtr, keep an eye on them. Don’t cause trouble.”

Surtr nodded its massive head good-naturedly, letting out a low, muffled rumble.

Chen Shang stepped out of the Elemental Chamber and closed the door. He leaned against the wall outside and closed his eyes for a moment. The churning in his Second Magic Spring had calmed a bit more, but it still skipped occasionally, like a heart recovering from a scare.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door at the end of the corridor and entered the Teleportation Hall. Ella, Evelyn, and Twilight were waiting for him by the Teleportation Gate.

“All set?” Evelyn asked.

“It’s settled for now,” he replied.

The group entered a small meeting room. Chen Shang took a cloth bag from his Space Book and dumped the scattered spoils of war onto the table.

There were several Fire Elemental Spirit Crystal Cores, all from Tier Three Individuals, which were worth quite a bit of money. There were also four Flame Heart Talismans. Two hadn’t expired yet, while the other two were drained of energy but still had their Rune structures intact, making them suitable for dismantling and research.

Of course, aside from these miscellaneous items, the most significant loot was the sword. A Divine Artifact. It could fetch no less than a million Wizard Coins on the market. This was their biggest harvest.

Chen Shang took the Divine Sword from his Space Book and placed it on the table. The blazing white light on the blade was a bit dimmer than it had been in the Red Flame Realm, but its sharp aura—capable of severing the Fire Element—still made the surrounding air distort slightly.

Evelyn stared at the sword for a few seconds, her eyes full of desire. “How do we split this?”

“Let’s look at the contribution levels first!” Chen Shang raised his hand and drew a Rune in the air. The avatar of the Wizard’s Will coalesced from the Void, its translucent body floating above the table, holding that silvery-white balance scale in its hand.

The four of them held the ritual according to their previous agreement. The scale of the Wizard’s Will slowly rotated above the table, its silvery-white patterns reflecting on their faces, flickering uncertainly.
