Chapter 169: Chapter 115: Double Casting and 3 Elemental Multiplication

Immediately after, gaps opened up on the trunks, and branches morphed into arms wielding thick fists, smashing into the other Ice Dragons. The two sides tangled together, sending ice shards flying. At the same time, Ice Crystals spread across the ancient trees’ trunks. With every passing second, the Giant Wood Guards’ movements grew increasingly sluggish.

Chen Shang directly activated Three Heads and Six Arms, his consciousness splitting once more. His foremost pair of hands tightly gripped Natural Fury, controlling the Giant Wood Guards to fight against the Ice Dragons. His second pair of hands condensed the Shield of Monatomic Heavy Water, guarding against another sneak attack from Alicia. His final pair of hands began experimenting with something new. The Samadhi True Flame, the One-Element Heavy Water, and six of the Fei Lian Eight Winds started to converge.

Fire generated wind, and wind fueled the Fire. Water stood between the Fire and wind to prevent resonant overload, while he used the Phase Angle to regulate them. A tri-colored stream of light swirled and compressed above his palm, ultimately condensing into a sphere the size of a fist. The interior of the sphere was orderly. Crimson Fire, pale cyan wind, and deep blue Water—three bands of colored light slowly rotated along the sphere’s inner wall. It hovered quietly, yet it emanated an immense sense of oppression.

Chen Shang suddenly thrust it toward Alicia. The air was whipped up into a white wake as the sphere viciously slammed into the Ice Wall blocking Alicia. The instant it made contact, the order within the sphere collapsed. A crimson pillar of light erupted from the core, while pale cyan Wind Blades exploded from its edges. Deep blue watery light, carrying the debris of Ice Crystals, surged out in all directions.

Fragments of the Ice Wall collided and shattered in the air, caught up in the watery light and continuing to splash outward. In that split second, the protective barrier was battered by the flying ice, forming dozens of fine cracks. Before that pillar of light, the Ice Dragons were as flimsy as paper. They were instantly blasted into a sky full of Ice Crystals, raining down a Blizzard over the arena.

The Giant Wood Guards were also damaged in the shockwave. Their trunks were sheared in half by the shattered ice, leaving only their roots standing.

Alicia pulled out a Magic Staff. She had just released some sort of Defensive Witchcraft when, in the next moment, she was shoved against the protective barrier by the howling shockwave as tri-colored light swept over everything. Chen Shang also shrank the range of his One-Element Heavy Water, defending against the frantic bombardment outside.

Several breaths later, the dust settled. The arena was a complete mess; Ice Crystal fragments were scattered all over the ground, and the broken branches of the ancient trees lay in utter ruin. Alicia climbed up from the ground, looking disheveled and covered in dirt. Her Magic Staff was still glowing with a faint Blue light—that was Witchcraft stored within the Magic Staff, not her own Magic Power.

"This Witchcraft... there is no record of it in your files."

"I just had a sudden inspiration and decided to try it. I didn’t expect it to succeed."

Chen Shang looked at Alicia, whose own Magic Power had been completely exhausted. "Are you ready to surrender?"

Alicia shook her head and raised her Magic Staff, pointing the tip at Chen Shang. Ice Crystals condensed at the tip of the staff, swiftly forming an ice thread as thin as a hair. The temperature of this ice thread was lower than any of her previous attacks. If this thread so much as touched Chen Shang’s skin, it could freeze him into an ice sculpture in mere fractions of a second. Yet Chen Shang didn’t dodge. He simply watched her calmly.

Alicia didn’t activate the Witchcraft either, because she sensed something was wrong with her body. It wasn’t Magic Power depletion, but something else entirely... It felt like something was burning in her veins—a heat searing outward from her bones.

Her body temperature was rising, and fine red patterns surfaced on her skin—heat seeping out from within. That heat was interfering with her Magic Power circuits, causing her hands to tremble and making it impossible to focus her mind enough to cast Witchcraft.

"When did you...?" She looked up at Chen Shang.

Chen Shang extended his right hand. A trace of extremely faint cyan-red light lingered in his palm. This was the Wind-Fire Compound Curse! After obtaining the Fei Lian Eight Winds, he had tried mixing it with the Samadhi True Flame to create this Curse. He had hidden the Curse within the steam left behind by every explosion of the Water-Fire Heaven Extremes. Using wind as the medium and Fire as the trigger, the remnants of the Samadhi True Flame from the explosions had slipped into Alicia’s body through her Magic Power circuits.

"Give up," Chen Shang said.

Alicia didn’t answer. Instead, she resolutely tapped the Magic Staff against herself. The Ice Crystals at the tip turned into an ice-Blue light that surged into her body. The icy light traveled along her meridians, chasing the source of that heat to freeze and seal it. Her body temperature dropped. The red patterns on her skin turned from a bright crimson to a dark red before vanishing beneath her skin. The Curse hadn’t disappeared, but it had been suppressed.

She looked up, raised the Magic Staff, and used her meager remaining Magic Power to activate its Witchcraft. Behind her, Ice Crystals condensed into a massive icy hand with all five fingers spread wide, reaching out to grab Chen Shang.

Chen Shang sighed and raised Natural Fury. The Gemstone at the top of the Magic Staff lit up with emerald-green light. This was another Witchcraft inherent to Natural Fury—Forest Fury. Countless vines erupted across the arena, rapidly drawing Elemental Energy from the ground to madly multiply. Ultimately, they formed a massive green zone that, at a passing glance, looked like countless giant snakes writhing about. Forest Fury blocked the icy hand from reaching him.

Alicia’s Magic Power was entirely spent, and the glow of her Magic Staff faded from pale Blue to an ashen white. She stood there, looking incredibly unwilling to accept defeat, her light blonde hair draped messily over her shoulders. Chen Shang stood before her, his Magic Power still intact. Although his Second Magic Spring and Third Magic Spring were nearly depleted, his main Magic Spring still had reserves left.

Alicia fell silent for a moment before speaking. "I surrender. Can that Curse be undone?"

Chen Shang nodded and waved Natural Fury, extracting the Wind-Fire Mixed Curse from Alicia’s body. She instantly felt much better.

"To think I lost to an Apprentice practicing Repulsive and Attractive Dual Force... Want to chat sometime? There are a few things I’d like to ask you about."

"Of course. No problem."

After the two left the stage, applause erupted from the audience stands.
