Chapter 186: Chapter 121: Sacrifice, Desperate Struggle, and Secret Treasure

Alicia leaned against a pile of rubble. Her left shoulder slumped, and her right leg was covered in blood from the knee down. The Black Wizard walked toward her, his footsteps echoing rhythmically in the crevice.

Seeing her target approaching, she focused her mind and decisively detonated the Cyan Jade Gourd that had fallen to the ground!

Alicia blew up the gourd—which contained the complete Eternal Night Cold Tide witchcraft—along with its inherent Void Silk structure.

Fearing the explosion’s power wouldn’t be enough, she took another one from Chen Shang’s Space Book and threw it in to detonate together.

The Ice Element surged from both gourds simultaneously like a tidal wave. Freezing energy erupted within the narrow crevice, slamming into the Black Wizard head-on like a transparent wall.

The moisture on the rock walls instantly condensed into ice crystals, which then shattered into fine powder. The powder spun at high speeds in the shockwave, whipping up a violent blizzard inside the crevice.

Visibility dropped to zero. The temperature plummeted to a freezing low that even the Black Wizard found piercing. His Earth Element Armor grew brittle in the extreme cold, its surface beginning to crack. His skin turned purple from the chill, and frost formed on his eyelashes.

Worse still, half of his Spiritual Power had already been drained. Now, further disrupted by spatial fluctuations, his head ached as if it were splitting open, and his perception range shrank to a mere three meters.

He crouched down, protecting his head and face with his hands while deploying a witchcraft shield, preparing to wait out the icy tide. Slowly, layers of ice accumulated on the ground.

Of course, the blast’s power was indiscriminate. At such close range, Alicia couldn’t escape it either. Thus, she had prepared a self-preservation secret technique in advance—the Eternal Ice Seal.

The Ice Element seeped from her body, first enveloping her chest, then her limbs, and finally her head.

One layer, two layers, three layers... Each layer was two fingers thick. The ice formed an oval cocoon around her, isolating her from the extreme cold outside.

The cocoon’s outer shell thickened further under the icy tide’s assault; the low temperature in the crevice had actually helped her.

After using this secret technique, she had no ability to fight back. However, she could largely maintain her condition while waiting to recover. Moreover, anyone who wanted to harm her would have to break through the ice first.

A quarter of an hour later, the icy tide had subsided significantly. The Black Wizard slowly stood up, his hair, eyebrows, and beard completely covered in white frost.

His robes had frozen into a hard shell, emitting CRACK CRACK sounds with every couple of steps he took.

Seeing the ice cocoon Alicia had formed, he burned with rage. "Do you think you can escape death like this?"

He raised his hand, and the Earth Element condensed into a stone spike in his palm. He was on the verge of shattering the ice!

Once the ice was broken, Alicia would have no chance of survival.

But the next moment, a three-colored stream of light shot out from the depths of the crevice.

The beam of light—interwoven with crimson, cyan-white, and deep blue—was as thick as an arm. It blasted the Black Wizard’s side with pinpoint accuracy. His body was instantly sent flying, slamming violently into the rock wall. The ice layer shattered, and debris tumbled down with a CLATTER.

He looked down. His robe had been burned through, a large chunk of his Earth Element Armor was shattered, and a bowl-sized scorch mark marred his skin.

TAP, TAP, TAP... The sound of approaching footsteps echoed, and the icy mist parted to form a rift.

Chen Shang emerged from the depths of the crevice. With the Divine Sword in his left hand and Natural Fury in his right, the four major Magic Springs circulated simultaneously within his body.

The scorching heat of the Fire Spring spread from his left hand to the scabbard, while the chilling cold of the Water Spring seeped from his right hand into the magic staff. The Earth Spring pressed heavily at the very bottom of his Sea of Consciousness, and the Wind Spring spun at high speeds beside his Crystal Core.

That Three Elements Attack just now had been triggered through Natural Fury.

Indeed, not only had he condensed the Earth Element Magic Spring, but he had also constructed the Wind Element Magic Spring in one fell swoop. It was the only way he stood a chance at defeating the opponent.

As for any flaws that likely existed in a hastily constructed Magic Spring, he would just have to wait until he returned to the Wizard World to adjust them.

The four forces converged at the edge of his body, condensing into an incredibly faint, four-colored halo. Crimson, cyan, white, and yellow layered over each other, resembling solar prominences on the edge of the sun during an eclipse.

As the icy mist encountered the heat radiating from him, it evaporated into vapor before it could even get close.

He walked over to the ice cocoon. First, he picked up the Space Book from the ground, then stored both the cocoon and Natural Fury inside it before hanging the book around his neck.

The mist cleared. Chen Shang turned sideways and looked at the Black Wizard; only the two of them remained in the crevice now.

"You aren’t running? Do you really think you can beat me? You’re just a Second Level Apprentice, but I am a wizard! An Official Wizard!"

While the Black Wizard was still roaring in anger, Chen Shang struck without a word. Gripping the Divine Sword, streams of crimson, cyan-white, and deep blue light surged from his palm, pressing onto the blade and spreading along the spine of the sword.

Through Wind, Fire, and Earth Elemental Multiplication, the twenty-seven-fold leverage multiplier—combined with the Divine Sword’s amplification—could achieve a power exceeding thirty times its normal strength!

With a wave of the Black Wizard’s right hand, four stone spikes shot out from the ground. Chen Shang dodged sideways. Two grazed past his waist, one slashed his right arm, and the last struck the Divine Sword, deflecting the blade for a split second.

But he didn’t stop. Stepping out with Shrinking Earth, he instantly blinked behind the Black Wizard and swept his blade horizontally.

The Black Wizard reacted swiftly, thickening his Earth Element Armor by another layer. The blade slashed into the armor, detonating a burst of three-colored radiant flames.

The armor shattered. The blade sliced an inch deep, wedging firmly into the Black Wizard’s shoulder blade.

Roaring in pain, the Black Wizard slammed his left palm into Chen Shang’s chest, sending him flying. Chen Shang crashed into the rock wall, a mouthful of blood welling up in his throat. His ribs were broken, a wheezing sound audible with every breath.

"Close combat is still too prone to counterattacks," he thought. "If only I could bombard him with long-range witchcraft!"
