Wizard: I Have Mythical Entries
Chapter 90 - 89: Black Wizard and Elemental Storm
Chapter 90: Chapter 89: Black Wizard and Elemental Storm
He first listed a few pieces of Enchanted Armor, raw materials, and Magic Gemstones for sale on the Celestial Net. Then, he opened the search page and entered his keywords:
"Element, perception, eye, talent."
The search yielded many results.
Some results pointed to specific races. Native creatures from certain planes were born with eyes capable of elemental perception. For example, the Flame Eye Race’s eyes could see fluctuations of the Fire Element, while the Deep Water Race could perceive their surroundings in the dark through the Water Element.
There were also research projects. The major laboratories had countless topics on elemental perception. However, after a careful browse, Chen Shang found few practical guides on how to artificially acquire the Eye of the Elements.
Of course, it was more likely that this information was premium, paid knowledge, which wouldn’t appear on the basic search page.
As a result, Chen Shang turned his attention to related organizations. His finger paused when he scrolled to a specific piece of information.
Elemental Storm.
It was the oldest and most traditional organization in the Wizard World, and one of the seven foundational infrastructures of the Pan-Wizard Alliance.
Its members were mostly Elemental Mages. Their research fields covered all Witchcraft, Runes, Alchemy, and biological modifications within the Elemental System.
The homepage of their official website featured a famous quote from an Elemental Great Wizard: "To control the elements is to control the truth."
Regardless of whether this statement was true, it proved one thing: an organization focusing on elemental projects would definitely not lack information on the Eye of the Elements that Chen Shang needed in its database.
He clicked in and read through it carefully several times. The entry requirements were not harsh. One only needed a recommendation from an Official Member, relevant elemental research, and to pass an assessment to join.
Member obligations after joining: submit at least one academic paper or research report related to elements every five years.
Member rights included access to the organization’s internal elemental research database, the use of dedicated experimental sites, participation in the annual academic exchange conference, and the ability to apply for internal research project funding.
Chen Shang leaned back in his chair, deep in thought.
His Mythical Characters series—such as Ben Bo’Erba, Huluwa, and Zhong Kui—should technically be classified under the Bloodline Wizard faction.
However, wizard classifications were not as strictly divided as other Cultivation Systems; cross-disciplinary practice was perfectly normal. If a Mechanical Wizard casually unleashed an Elemental Forbidden Curse, no one would find it strange.
The Water-Fire Model, Samadhi True Flame, and Elemental Enchantment he researched were all inextricably linked to elements. Joining Elemental Storm would definitely benefit his research.
Furthermore, organizations in the Wizard World were not exclusive like laboratories. One could join multiple organizations without them conflicting with their laboratory work.
For instance, Solem was an Apprentice of Star Fall, but he was also a member of the elemental research society known as Thunder Fury. Evelyn was also rumored to have joined Elemental Storm.
The next day, Chen Shang arrived at the Ecological Garden on time.
Data recording in the front area was completed quickly. The volunteers were very cooperative.
However, Chen Shang lingered in front of each enclosure for a few extra minutes. He used his upgraded Eye of True Sight to observe their energy circulation, comparing it with the data he had previously collected.
Under the analysis of the Eye of True Sight, the Tailless Snake Lizard’s Magic Spring, the source of its high-speed regeneration, was revealed with even greater clarity.
He recorded these observations on his Crystal Plate, preparing to include them in his next comprehensive report.
The data in the prison area was even simpler. The death row inmates were surprisingly quiet—after all, Saphiron’s bloody lesson was still fresh in their minds.
Chen Shang methodically recorded all the data. He felt a slight pang of regret; it would have been nice if a few more idiots had provoked him.
Of course, that was provided they had sufficient compensation to offer.
He stopped in front of Saphiron’s cell. The Sub-dragon was huddled in the corner. Upon seeing Chen Shang, it immediately stood up, its tail thumping nervously against the ground.
"My Lord, did you get the items?"
Chen Shang didn’t answer. Instead, he asked another question. "Did you ever see any wizards around your vault? Or perhaps a modified desert centipede?"
Saphiron froze. It tilted its head and thought for a long time before shaking it.
"No. When I occupied that area, there were no creatures nearby, nor did I hear of any wizards passing through."
Chen Shang nodded. This was to be expected. The Dragon Race wouldn’t leave their treasures under someone else’s nose. He didn’t press the matter and turned to leave the prison area.
That afternoon, after handing the data to Hathaway, he suddenly spoke up. "Master, I want to apply to join Elemental Storm. Could you recommend me?"
Average Wizard Apprentices would try to join several organizations—not for anything else, but solely for their internal databases. Official Wizards were even more inclined to do so.
Hathaway looked up. "Elemental Storm? Are you interested in elemental research now?"
Chen Shang didn’t hide his intentions. "Yes. Elemental Storm’s database contains research on elemental perception talents, which would be helpful to me."
Hathaway smiled and tapped a few times on her Crystal Plate. "Simple. I’ve sent the recommendation. Now we wait for a reply."
Less than fifteen minutes later, her Crystal Plate vibrated. Hathaway glanced at it and turned the screen toward Chen Shang. "It passed. In three days, go to the nearby Storm Association branch to take the assessment."
Chen Shang took the Crystal Plate and read the message: "Assessment time: 9:00 a.m. in three days. Assessment location: Seventh District of the Pan-Wizard Alliance, Seventy-Third Branch of the Elemental Storm Association.
"Assessment content: written exam and practical operation. Assessment requirements: provide your own Casting Materials and experimental tools."
"Thank you, Master."
"You’re welcome. I look forward to your growth." Hathaway lowered her head and returned her Concentration to her own work.
Three days later, Chen Shang stood in front of the Seventy-Third Branch of the Elemental Storm Association.
