Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 540 - 387: The Difference Between a Mage and a Brute
Chapter 540: Chapter 387: The Difference Between a Mage and a Brute
Meanwhile, Isaac, having returned to his temporary Mage Tower after the battle, was not nearly as excited as the others. From his perspective, what had happened was not the rare and incredible feat that group of barbarians imagined it to be.
The results looked spectacular, but there was no real technical skill involved. Isaac had merely made full use of the fundamental nature of power.
Yes, the fundamental nature of power.
First, there was the Divine Power. Although the Incarnation Isaac had summoned was only Tier Four, its true form was a genuine Tier Six True God. Even the Flesh Angel of the Master of Billions of Flesh was Tier Six, and the Divine Power of a Tier Six True God already contained a high concentration of the Concepts of [Immortal] and [Eternal].
The [Boundless] Authority was indeed powerful. From it, Isaac sensed a nearly infinite [Concept]. It was somewhat similar to the concept of infinite size from his Dimension World and his [Positive Infinitesimal] Authority, except that its quality was relatively higher.
But even so, it wouldn’t have been possible for Morgan to directly devour the Divine Power of a Tier Six being. Devouring was an ability that came from the Furnace Skill, not a characteristic of the [Boundless] Authority. From start to finish, the sole purpose of [Boundless] was to Enhance.
Therefore, Morgan couldn’t completely digest the Tier Six Divine Power; there would be hidden dangers. He would only have a chance of truly refining it if he advanced to Tier Six himself!
Besides Divine Power, there was also the Dimensional Magic Power. Its caliber was also remarkably high, comparable to the Divine Power of a True God. It had already displayed the [Infinite] Concept back when Isaac was Tier One. Now, with the further growth of his Dimension World, its caliber alone was in no way inferior to that of a True God’s Divine Power.
Of course, that was only in terms of caliber. In terms of actual might, it was still a far cry. This had nothing to do with the Dimension World and was entirely dependent on the user.
’If he can’t fully refine it, wouldn’t that just create a hidden danger?’
So, in reality, Isaac hadn’t used any profound or inscrutable techniques.
’Well, at least these few landmines weren’t.’
The only advanced technique he used in this battle was the condensation of [Concepts]. He guided Morgan to devour and refine the Divine Incarnation, thereby solidifying three High Level Concepts: [Godslayer], [Devouring God], and [Becoming a God].
In that, Morgan and the others weren’t wrong. Isaac intended to use these three Concepts to trade with an Outer God. This was all for a treasure he had unearthed at a trade meet of the Mad Witch Association—a ritual for trading with an Ancient Evil God!
That being was at least Tier Seven!
According to the Wizards’ current understanding of the Path of Divinity, Tier Seven was essentially the end of the road. The Tier Eight beings above them were Concept Gods and Law Gods. They lacked [personality] in the conventional sense and were usually just symbols of a rule. Therefore, although Wizards had observed the existence of Tier Eight Deities, they didn’t consider them to be alive.
’At least, not alive in the way they understood it.’
This was also one of the main reasons why Wizards had abandoned the Path of Divinity.
To get back on topic, when trading with such an Existence, ordinary materials were naturally insufficient. The ritual components were almost all fully extracted [Concepts], even the catalyst!
The difficulty was extremely high, a once-in-a-lifetime endeavor. Therefore, Isaac had no intention of actually performing the trade. Instead, he planned to study the ritual Knowledge it contained, combine it with his own, and then improve upon or create new rituals.
For example, using these three Deity-related Concepts as materials, he could set up the Ritual of Worshipping the Gods. Once completed, the ritual could be used to randomly sacrifice any being of Tier Five or below to any Outer God!
A one-sided sacrifice, seeking nothing in return!
Or rather, *requiring* nothing in return!
It could barely be considered a purely offensive ritual.
Unfortunately, it was still in the theoretical stage. Whether it could truly sacrifice a Tier Five powerhouse... remained to be seen.
After all, many Tier Five powerhouses were existences capable of fighting a True God head-on to seize the title of Demigod.
But at the very least, it would be no problem to stop Morgan, who had just "advanced" to "Tier Five."
Unfortunately, just as he had predicted, Morgan held back in the end and didn’t try to kill him. Otherwise, he might have had a chance to verify his theory...
As for using it on a Tier Four...
Isaac hadn’t even considered it. Concepts of this level were too difficult to collect and extract. Not only was it exhausting, but it was also highly dependent on luck. If the time, place, or people involved were even slightly off, the Concepts couldn’t be gathered.
So if he were to use it, Isaac would only use it on a Tier Five powerhouse!
Unfortunately, that seemed unlikely for now. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t go out of his way to provoke a Tier Five powerhouse unless he himself reached Tier Five.
Isaac’s fingers tapped lightly on the tabletop. ’Since there’s no opportunity to use the Ritual of Worshipping the Gods, should I just use the materials for a trade with an Outer God?’
After a moment’s thought, Isaac shook his head slightly. ’That’s not right. For me, the gains from trading with an Outer God aren’t as significant as they were at the beginning. It isn’t that the Outer Gods have run out of good things.’
On the contrary, they had plenty of good things, and now that Isaac was Tier Four, he could bring back even more. But!
Just like the previous trades, at this level, the Outer Gods could tamper with the power they offered in more ways, leading to even greater hidden dangers!
If Isaac didn’t want to end up like Morgan, he had to be extremely careful in this regard.
Unless he advanced to Tier Five, passed the Mad Witch Tribulation, and obtained the combat power of a Demigod, there would always be too many restrictions. But then again, if he really reached that stage, getting what he wanted wouldn’t be so troublesome anyway...
