Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 542 - 388: Martial God Body?
Chapter 542: Chapter 388: Martial God Body?
Upon receiving Shushu’s telepathic message, Isaac pondered for a moment before finally agreeing to let it handle the matter. If their group were like a large family, Isaac was undoubtedly the patriarch, while the Glazed Rat and the others were the younger generation.
There were some things that he, as the patriarch, was not well-suited to interfere with. But if one of them handled it, it should be much simpler.
With this in mind, Isaac had a rough plan for their trip to the Little World. His first priority was collecting the materials for Shushu’s Virtual Divinity. Second was arranging the Saint Master’s training regimen—tempering him through constant combat. This would allow him to acquire resources while deepening his understanding of Secret Techniques and the Furnace Skill.
Finally, there was the matter of Liu Li. If she truly didn’t care about her original form, he could just use [Stealing God] directly; he wouldn’t even need to search for materials. But if she *did* care...
Then he would have to do some careful research. The original form of a Demon God’s Favored was not so easily altered.
Having laid out his general plan for this world, Isaac first went to the Kingdom Alliance’s quest platform. He found several quests for the Saint Master that would both aid his Cultivation and help gather the materials for Shushu’s Virtual Divinity.
He assigned Shushu and Liu Li to prepare the ritual and gather materials together, which would also give Shushu the chance to have a talk with her.
The two of them were a bit smarter than the Saint Master, better suited for work that required using their heads.
As for Isaac himself...
He was hesitating. Should he wander the world, or should he hunker down and focus on his research?
Honestly, both options were tempting. The former might lead him to a brand-new research subject capable of becoming a Heroic feat. He already had two such projects, but with this kind of research, there was no telling if it would ultimately succeed, or how long it would take.
Besides, even if a project was completed, it wasn’t guaranteed to be considered a Heroic feat.
The definition was actually quite vague; until a project was complete, all anyone could do was speculate.
Currently, the only standard in this regard concerned Extraordinary Power. A path of Extraordinary Power that was endless, like that of the Witch Wizard Knight, was considered a Great Creation. If a path had a limit but could genuinely allow one to reach Tier Three—such as the Law-Breaking Swordsman and the Star Mage—then it could be called a Heroic feat.
But researching Extraordinary Power was not so easy. The two successful paths of Extraordinary Power Isaac knew of both involved a certain element of coincidence.
The Law-Breaking Swordsman benefited from a special power within the Endless Tower, a gift left behind by a Great Wizard. In a sense, it was a shortcut to creating that path. The same was true for Isaac’s own case. Although he hadn’t received a gift from a Great Wizard, the research into the power of the Star Mage in that other world had already been going on for thousands, or even tens of thousands of years!
They had taken the wrong approach, but had still managed to brute-force their way to the level of Tier Three. They were just one breakthrough away from success. Strictly speaking, Isaac had merely swooped in and plucked the fruit of their labor.
’Of course, being able to pluck the fruit is a skill in itself!’
Isaac was confident that this world also had "fruit" ripe for the picking; it was just a matter of whether one had the ability to do so.
However, Isaac had a slight reservation about this, and it was one of the main reasons he was considering hunkering down to do research in this world.
Back in the Main World, it seemed that Extraordinary Professions like the Law-Breaking Swordsman and the Star Mage—ones that surpassed Tier Three but had limited future potential—were being suppressed somehow...
The Star Mage was one thing. It had only recently been perfected, so it was normal that it hadn’t become widespread. Besides, the Star Mage itself wasn’t particularly powerful. Anyone with a talent for Magic Power would just go learn Arcane Arts. As for those without such talent...
The Legendary Mage path was far more promising, and as long as you didn’t touch the Path of the Mad Witch, it was also quite safe. Who in their right mind would choose to be a Star Mage?
But the Law-Breaking Swordsman was a completely different story. In the Main World, there were at least two lines of inheritance for it. One was from its creator, a Tier Four Grand Arcanist. The other was the Sword of Inheritance Isaac had sold to Caesar.
Isaac could understand why the creator hadn’t spread it on a large scale. The Law-Breaking Swordsman’s potential was plain to see, but its characteristics had already been more or less figured out by a joint effort of several Tier Four Wizards in the Endless Tower. It didn’t hold much intrinsic value for them.
For Caesar, however, it was a different matter entirely. He could have used it to form an entire legion of Law-Breaking Swordsmen!
Initially, the Solomon Kingdom had been doing just that. Isaac had even received some requests for technical consultation in the past.
However, as time went on, the whole affair just fizzled out...
Not only was there no more news about the formally established legion of Law-Breaking Swordsmen, but the Extraordinary Power itself also failed to spread throughout the territory. This was quite strange. Caesar and his people wouldn’t specify the reason, only telling Isaac that they would still pay for the Sword of Inheritance as promised.
However, Isaac had his own suspicions. He guessed that someone was deliberately suppressing these kinds of Extraordinary Professions—ones with some, but not immense, potential. This was because Tier Three was a very special Level.
Starting from Tier Three, a life form undergoes a sublimation, and the characteristics of this sublimation differ depending on the path of Extraordinary Power. Most importantly, before Tier Three, some paths of Extraordinary Power are interchangeable!
Take the most common and classic path, for instance: a Goblin Slayer can become a Knight, or even a Wizard!
This is the path most Adventurers take. There are also Warriors or Swordsman Assassins who become Knights, and even Magic Net Mages who become Wizards, and so on.
