Chapter 544: Chapter 389: The Bold Mad Witch!

A Spiritual Host typically has only one Spirit Body, as their method for gaining strength is far too unnatural. It’s not that Deities haven’t considered giving a Spiritual Host multiple Spirit Bodies, but for all their power, Deities lack the formidable research capabilities of Wizards.

Having multiple Spirit Bodies in one vessel would only cause the Spiritual Host’s power to swell uncontrollably until they burst like a balloon!

Even Wizards spent a great deal of time solving this issue. But now, though a solution exists, they face an even greater problem: you can’t make bricks without straw...

According to the insane experiments conducted by Mad Witches in the past, a single body hosting multiple spirits only occurs under two conditions. The first is a matter of pure luck—it just happens, with no discernible pattern or control.

The second method is controllable, but that’s not necessarily a good thing.

This is because such cases are usually the result of heavy interference from the power of an Outer God. To put it simply, these are Spiritual Hosts created purely as a contingency by an Outer God...

The Spiritual Host before Isaac, for instance, was the latter. Amidst the Evil God’s numerous contingencies, he had discovered a small amount of pure Power of the Evil God...

This explained why the other Wizard hadn’t come to collect this multi-spirit Spiritual Host.

’So he’s a failure.’

Generally, Mad Witches of the Beloved Faction handle Outer God Power using a method of equal division, splitting the power into hundreds of the smallest possible units. This way, no matter how many contingencies are deployed, even a Tier One Official Wizard can identify the taint.

After all, a grain of sand tossed into a lake might go unnoticed, but what about a grain of sand in a glass of water? Or even a single drop?

Anyone with eyes could see that grain of sand.

Of course, an Outer God’s methods are usually more sophisticated. Simple division alone is not enough to identify the tainted Divine Power, as even viruses have an incubation period.

Therefore, the Mad Witches of the Beloved Faction use these minimal units of the Power of Outer God to create Followers. In time, any problems will naturally surface. The Mad Witch then only needs to collect the untainted Followers. Whether they keep them all to build a legion or have them fight to the death in a battle for supremacy is a matter of personal preference.

And this "Martial God Body" before Isaac was one of the "grains of sand" that had been sifted out.

No matter how outstanding such an individual might be, a Mad Witch would never want them. They have no value.

However, "valueless" was only in the eyes of other Mad Witches. To Isaac, he still had some use.

While he couldn’t deal with the Evil God’s contingency within the boy’s body either, he could glean some of the creator Mad Witch’s Knowledge from his biological structure. This was especially true because this particular Mad Witch’s specialty overlapped with Isaac’s own area of expertise: Ritualism.

The other practitioner was also a Mad Witch proficient in Ritualism. The entire Island Country was enveloped in a massive ritual for converting people into Followers, and its sheer scale was the largest Isaac had ever witnessed!

’They’re trying to create something massive!’

Generally speaking, modern High Level rituals trend toward miniaturization. A larger ritual area isn’t always better. While that might be true for low-to-mid-level rituals, High Level ones operate on the principle that "the most concentrated form holds the greatest essence." Only by focusing a massive amount of energy onto a single point can the ritual’s power radiate farther.

Furthermore, this makes it easier to adjust and lay out the ritual. If it spanned thousands of meters, how troublesome would it be to make adjustments if a problem arose?

The World Correction Ritual, for example, is just like this. The ritual’s power can cover an entire Little World, yet the Ritual Array itself only takes up an area half the size of a basketball court!

That’s not to say large-scale High Level rituals don’t exist. Certain special requirements still call for such vast Ritual Arrays. This one, for instance, appears designed to create a single, massive Follower, hence its unusually large scope.

But that had nothing to do with Isaac. He was only here to secretly learn from the master’s work. What the other party was actually trying to create was none of his concern.

A face-to-face conversation might be more fruitful, but Isaac had long since seen these people for what they were. They were cowards, so timid they wouldn’t even dare to speak with him. The moment they recognized him, they would do only one thing: run!

Run for their lives!

Therefore, Isaac had no intention of letting the other party know he was here. With his [Analysis], he could get what he wanted on his own anyway.

And so, Isaac glanced up at the sky before turning his gaze back to the boy in the dilapidated hut. He activated his [Analysis] Authority, and in an instant, he saw through to the Mad Witch’s true purpose.

A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. He glanced at the sky again. ’I never expected this one to have so much nerve.’

On second thought, however, Isaac realized it made sense. After all, once a Mad Witch ascends to Tier Five, they have to face the risk of confronting an Outer God—multiple Outer Gods, in fact. The combat power of an ordinary Demigod is simply not enough!

Unless you’re willing to live out your days cowering in the Main World...

But that was clearly impossible. Thus, even the Mad Witches of the new era grow a bit bolder after ascending to Tier Four, beginning to research the forbidden Anti-Divine Magic. A Tier Four, after all, can still roam the Boundless Void in relative safety. Once they ascend to Tier Five and their movements become restricted, it would be too late to prepare.

And this Mad Witch’s method of preparation was a classic one: creating a Divine Abomination!

A Divine Abomination originally referred to a life form born from the corpse of a Deity. They are naturally under the Curse of all gods. Though they possess god-like power, they are utterly devoid of reason, knowing only slaughter and destruction!
