Chapter 566: Chapter 400: Yandere Deity

This would allow him to determine if the changes in the soul’s structure were related to the frequency of transactions.

Beyond that, he could also run two more sets of experiments in parallel: one on soul creation and another on soul modification!

He would attempt to replicate the soul structure that resulted from this change!

Then, he would place it under Observation!

Feeling a surge of excitement, Isaac quickly completed the aforementioned experiments...

...the plans for them.

And just like that, Isaac threw himself into his experiments, working with feverish intensity. As for his original purpose for coming to this Little World...

Irrelevant!

And while Isaac was feverishly conducting one experiment after another, elsewhere, Shushu and the others were having the time of their lives!

According to their prior agreement, the group was supposed to return to the Virtual Mage Tower every six months to report their progress to Isaac and receive their next set of orders.

However, when Shushu and the others returned to the Virtual Mage Tower, there was no sign of Isaac. When they asked Maxu Kant, the deity was tight-lipped, saying only that Isaac was in the middle of an important experiment and that uninvolved parties were not to disturb him.

It’s worth noting that a bit of friction arose during their exchange with Maxu Kant...

The root of the problem lay in Maxu Kant’s very words: "uninvolved parties"!

The moment Maxu Kant uttered those two words, Shushu’s pupils constricted. ’This is bad!’ Shushu knew.

Shushu quickly looked up. Sure enough, while Liu Li maintained her usual icy facade, her eyes had turned dangerous. A faint, nearly imperceptible thread of Magic Power began to probe for a lock on Maxu Kant.

But the current gap between the two was simply too vast. After all, even though Maxu Kant was a support-type Virtual Deity unskilled in combat, they were a Tier Six existence.

They were also a genuine Tier Four Powerhouse. The disparity was too great for Liu Li; she tried for what felt like an eternity but couldn’t get a lock on Maxu Kant’s aura. This failure caused her expression to darken visibly.

This rare change in Liu Li’s expression made Shushu involuntarily shudder. As the most unique member of their ’family’, Shushu possessed a keen perception that far surpassed the other Servant Demons and Deities. In this regard, not even Demon Claw Harmon, who was by Isaac’s side day and night, could compare.

After all, that guy Harmon was lazy as sin and spent all day lounging inside Isaac’s body. Furthermore, his status as a Magic Pet was unique; he and Isaac were two sides of the same coin. He had no need to join Shushu and the others in their squabbles for favor—he wasn’t a competitor, but the referee!

An admittedly neglectful referee, but a referee nonetheless.

So, in an instant, Shushu knew it was time to step in and calm the waters.

True, Liu Li couldn’t defeat Maxu Kant now, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t be able to in the future.

Maxu Kant could increase in tier as Isaac’s Virtual Deity technology advanced, but their role was permanently fixed as support. That wasn’t to say their position was unimportant—quite the contrary. As Isaac’s "eyes" and "ears" in the outside world, their status was crucial.

But status is one thing, and strength is another!

At the same tier, their combat prowess would surely be no match for Liu Li, a Demon God’s Favored whose primary role was battle. Liu Li was only falling short because of the tier difference. Once she caught up, Maxu Kant would be the one to die!

That’s right—Shushu believed Maxu Kant would very likely die.

This might seem contradictory, but it was the truth. The entity serving as Isaac’s "eyes" and "ears" was actually the Virtual Divinity that Maxu Kant possessed, not Maxu Kant themself.

And to be honest, while both Maxu Kant and Liu Li harbored less-than-pure feelings for Isaac, the amount of time spent by his side was a deciding factor. Liu Li’s chances of becoming the lady of the house were far higher than Maxu Kant’s.

When that time came, would the outcome even be in question?

Of course, if Liu Li actually managed to kill Maxu Kant, she might not be executed for it, but she would definitely incur Isaac’s wrath for a very long time. That wasn’t something Shushu wanted to see, so it immediately stepped forward.

"The master is experimenting with the Mad Witch Traits, isn’t he? We really can’t get involved in that. Still, let us contact him remotely. We need to know our next steps." As it spoke, Shushu’s tail gently tapped Liu Li’s back in a gesture that said, ’Leave this to me.’

The subtle exchange between Shushu and Liu Li didn’t escape Maxu Kant’s notice. As the God of Imaginary Numbers, they had naturally reached the same conclusions as Shushu. They simply didn’t care.

Life and death held no meaning for them. As long as they could remain by their Divine Master’s side—in any form, even as a Virtual Divinity devoid of self-awareness—they would be content.

Thus, when dealing with any Existence besides Isaac, they couldn’t be bothered with meaningless social niceties. They said what they meant and spoke whatever came to mind.

But this bluntness didn’t equate to recklessness. So, when Shushu put forth a relatively reasonable proposal, Maxu Kant considered it for a moment and agreed. A remote briefing would have minimal impact on Isaac’s work.

Maxu Kant nodded. Illusory numbers converged before them, forming a projection of Isaac—a projection of him hunched over a desk, calculating something.

Meanwhile, on Isaac’s end, projections of Shushu, Liu Li, the Saint Master, the Silver Knight, and even the boy with the Martial God Body appeared before him.

Isaac froze for a second when he saw the boy standing behind Liu Li, then slapped his forehead in realization. He’d completely forgotten about him...

Fortunately, the boy’s time hadn’t been wasted. He had clearly been training hard with Shushu and Liu Li. Sensing an aura on him comparable to that of a Tier One Transcendent, Isaac nodded in satisfaction.

But his satisfaction wasn’t due to the boy’s rapid progress. It was due to his *slow* progress!

As a particularly special type of Spiritual Host, it was incredibly easy and fast for the boy to increase his strength. For him, speed meant nothing; maintaining stability was what mattered most.

When this type of Spiritual Host first appeared, their condition was even considered a Curse.

Mad Witches often used them as "Follower bombs" because their power grew so quickly that their bodies, souls, and even the very Concept of their Existence couldn’t withstand the rapid expansion and would swiftly collapse.

It was only after later Mad Witches developed countermeasures that this type of Spiritual Host became truly powerful.

However, these countermeasures were quite troublesome, which was why Isaac had left the boy in the Virtual Mage Tower, intending to train him personally. He just hadn’t expected to forget all about it...

Fortunately, Liu Li and the others had found the boy and taken him under their wing. Under their guidance, the boy’s power had been brought under control, released in a slow and steady manner.

Notably, the method they used to control his power wasn’t the Spirit Sealing Skill Isaac had intended to use. Isaac’s plan was to seal most of the boy’s seven Spirit Bodies. This would not only protect the boy but also allow the sealed Spirit Bodies to slowly accumulate power, which could then be unleashed all at once at the opportune moment.

It was an extremely effective method, whether for creating a living bomb or for shattering a Level barrier.

This method wasn’t Isaac’s own creation; it was a Sealing Technique developed specifically for Martial God Body-type Spiritual Hosts like the boy.

However, the method the boy was currently using wasn’t this one. It was...

A Divine Art tailor-made for him by Shushu!

The principle seemed to be using a Divine Art to temporarily transform the seven Spirit Bodies into Undead, briefly severing their connection to the boy. He would then slowly draw power from them bit by bit, adapting to each new increment before drawing more.

This method was broadly similar to the Spirit Sealing Skill. The main difference was that while the accumulated power was still retained, Shushu’s version wasn’t designed to be used as a bomb.

It was considerably safer, but it came at a price: as power accumulated, the undead transformation of the Spirit Bodies would gradually become permanent. The connection to the boy, however, would not be severed.

It was hard to say whether this was a good or bad thing. While the undead transformation introduced some new drawbacks, the Spirit Bodies already possessed most of the inherent weaknesses of Undead Creatures, they just weren’t as pronounced.

Now, after their undead transformation, they had also gained some special abilities. Perhaps it could be considered an enhancement?
