World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 117: Rank Three Skill (Part 3)
"The weather is not looking good," Liam said with a frown as he stared at the dark clouds above them.
Evan and the others also wore serious expressions on their faces as they felt the fierce wind clashing against their bodies.
It had already been two days since Alice and the others completed their task and began their return journey.
During these two days, they spent most of their time on Nero’s back and stopped only a few times to take a rest.
Evan also saw a few small cities during this time. What surprised him was that some of these cities were actually filled with buildings made from trees.
There were no modern-looking buildings in those cities, only some beautiful trees that were shaped into homes.
Evan truly liked those tree-made buildings, as they gave him a very different feeling from the typical buildings.
After two days of journey, they were now just a few hours away from Evergreen City, but the weather suddenly became extremely bad.
"It’s not a big problem for now. But if the wind picks up the pace and it starts raining, we will have to stop and look for shelter," Kevin said as he used Mana to protect himself from the sharp wind.
Everyone nodded at Kevin’s words, as they could feel Nero was also having difficulty flying in such bad weather.
The wind was already blowing at a speed of over 250 km per hour. Even though Nero was a Rank Two beast, its strength was relatively average among them, as it was more specialized in flying rather than fighting.
Around ten minutes later, the wind speed increased even more, and the speed of the stormy wind reached over 400 km per hour.
Evan used his Wind Monarch Skill to make the area around them relatively calm, but it was just a temporary solution.
Making such high-speed wind stop from approaching them all the time was like stopping the water in the sea and parting it to the sides.
Although Evan was able to do so because of his absolute control over Wind, the amount of Mana it consumed was very high.
Moreover, Wind was just one of the problems. It had also started raining, and the drops of water in such high-speed wind struck their bodies like small pebbles.
It was fine to get struck by a few of them. But to endure such a thing for a long time, it would definitely make them feel some pain.
"Nero, find a safe place to land. We will continue after the storm subsides a bit," Alice immediately ordered Nero upon seeing that the situation was getting worse.
Soon, Nero noticed a cave in the middle section of the mountain.
There were mountain walls on the sides, and a rock was stretching out from above, stopping all the Wind and rain from the sides.
There was also flat terrain below the stretched-out rock, so Nero immediately dived down and landed on the flat terrain.
Evan and the others immediately jumped down from Nero’s back and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Let’s rest here until the storm stops," Alice said as she patted Nero, who was shaking its body to throw away the water droplets clinging to it.
"Are the storms on your planet always so strong, or is this an unusual case?" Evan couldn’t help but ask as he noticed the Wind was still getting stronger.
"The higher the level of a planet, the more powerful the natural disasters on it will be. This kind of storm might be unusual on a Rank One planet, but for a Rank Three planet, it’s actually quite normal," Liam said as he lit a bonfire at the side.
"Is that so..." Evan nodded at Liam’s words without much surprise, as it was in line with what he had expected.
Moreover, looking at the lightning thundering outside, Evan did not know why, but he felt very strange in his heart.
It was as if he was very close to catching on to something but was just a bit short.
Because of his class, Evan’s elemental affinity was very high, and he could sense that due to the storm, the Wind and Lightning Elements were currently very active.
In fact, because of how dense these two elements currently were, Evan’s strength was getting an extra boost of ten percent because of the perk of his class.
Not only that, maybe it was because he was on a Rank Three Planet, Evan could feel the power of the Wind and Lightning Elements here was far stronger than what he could feel on Planet Zarth.
Taking a deep breath, Evan sat down at the edge of the cave and looked at the rumbling lightning outside.
The violent lightning was reflected in his eyes, and the strange feeling he was getting became stronger and stronger.
Suddenly, Evan couldn’t help but remember the feeling he had when he had used the Lightning Element with the help of his Elemental Zone.
Subconsciously, the Mana in his body began to move in a different way.
He stretched out his hand, but other than balls of Mana, nothing came out of his hand.
Alice and the others noticed his actions and looked at him curiously.
"What is he doing?" Erza asked in confusion.
"Is he practicing his Mana control?" Kevin spoke in an uncertain voice when he saw him using Mana again and again.
"Let me ask him," Liam stood up and was about to go to him when Alice stopped him.
"Don’t disturb him," Alice said seriously. "I think he is close to comprehending an internal skill."
"What?" Erza and the others were stunned when they heard Alice and were about to say something when suddenly—
Crackle!
They heard the sound of lightning crackling coming from beside them and immediately turned their heads.
As they turned their heads, their already widened eyes widened even further as they saw arcs of lightning coiling around Evan like snakes.

Evan looked at the notification flashing before him, and his lips arched upwards.
