Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Chapter 556: What? This is the Mercer Family?

  • Next Chapter

Cameron Walker looked at Miles Mercer. ’Why does he seem so serious?’

’Is he really serious, or is he just bluffing?’

’Maybe he’s afraid he can’t afford to lose, so he’s making threats now to scare me into backing down.’

’Is this actually some conspiracy between the two of them, a mind game?’

’He definitely can’t afford it. This is a high-end designer clothing store. Does he think buying it is that simple? It’s like buying the entire brand.’

’Forget about this broke loser and Nina Scott—even my own Walker Family might not have the resources for that.’

So, Cameron Walker concluded they were just trying to save face because they had backed themselves into a corner.

"What, getting cold feet?" Miles Mercer watched him, his presence sharp and powerful.

Cameron Walker had already figured it out. He said, "Why would I be scared? I’m worried you two won’t have the guts."

As he spoke, his lecherous gaze landed on Nina Scott again. "You can start getting ready. Why don’t you think about when you’ll be joining me? How about tonight?"

Nina Scott felt so disgusted she could throw up. Yara Scott was his wife, for crying out loud, and he was planning to sleep with another woman right in front of her.

It seemed Yara Scott really had no status at all in the Walker Family.

Nina Scott suppressed her discomfort. ’This man is going to be ’ruined’ soon anyway,’ she thought. ’I can put up with it for now.’

Nina Scott said, "It’s a bit too early for you to be saying that, Young Master Walker. Why don’t you worry about whether your ’family jewels’ will still be intact by tonight?"

Cameron Walker chuckled smugly. "I’m not falling for your scare tactics. We have a bet!"

Nina Scott hadn’t expected someone to be so eager to court death. Since he was asking for it, she felt it would almost be rude not to oblige.

"I’ve been recording everything you just said. This is the evidence. If anyone tries to back out later, don’t blame the other party for being ruthless."

Nina Scott had been holding her phone to her chest the whole time, recording. Of course, she had to capture how these people were digging their own graves.

A staff member came over to remind them, "Sir, this store is not for sale. Your bet might not be possible."

Cameron Walker said, "Get your manager over here. First, get an estimate of the price. Then just have this gentleman pay that amount."

The staff member thought for a moment, then had no choice but to call the manager over, telling him there was a group of lunatics in the store.

The manager arrived quickly. After hearing what was going on, he asked, "Are you serious?"

The manager’s eyes were full of disdain. In his view, these were just a bunch of posers.

’How dare they boast about buying the entire store? Do they have any idea how much that would cost?’

’Besides, this store isn’t for sale on a whim. It definitely can’t be sold.’

Miles Mercer said, "Do I look like I’m joking?"

Then, Miles Mercer took out his phone, walked to the side, and made a call. "There’s a store I want to buy. Handle it."

The manager said, "This really isn’t possible. Should I call a doctor for you? Or the police? You look like you need help."

However, Miles Mercer simply pushed a card forward. "Buying the store can wait. For now, why don’t you just bag up all the clothes in your shop."

The manager looked at the card. Just the clothes in the store, if bought all at once, would cost several hundred million.

"Sir, you..."

Miles Mercer said flatly, "Charge it."

He didn’t even bat an eye at that amount of money.

The manager’s expression toward Miles Mercer changed completely. It had to be said, a man was truly at his most handsome when spending money.

He was a man himself, but when Miles Mercer uttered those two words, "Charge it," even his own heart skipped a beat.

"Yes." The manager immediately took the card reverently and had someone calculate the total price of the clothes.

But just then, the manager received a call from his superior—a top executive from the company.

"Mr. King, you’re saying... What? Yes, yes!"

After hanging up, the manager looked as if he’d seen a ghost. He walked over and returned the card to Miles Mercer.

’They haven’t even charged it yet, so why is he giving it back?’

Cameron Walker had nearly died of fright, thinking the man could actually afford it. But now, it looked like it was all a bluff. ’The card must not have had enough money, that’s why he got it back, right?’

Cameron Walker said, "Alright, Nina Scott, you’d better get ready to be my woman. I’m already in the mood. Why don’t we head to the restroom over there and let me have some fun first?"

He felt he couldn’t even wait until tonight. He wanted Nina Scott right now!

However, the manager shoved Cameron Walker aside, walked up to Miles Mercer, and performed a perfect ninety-degree bow. "Boss!"

What?

Cameron Walker and his wife were stunned!

Yara Scott’s jaw dropped in disbelief. ’How could this man possibly be the boss?’

"Are you confused?" Cameron Walker cursed at the manager.

The manager said, "I just received a call from corporate. The entire brand has been purchased by you. You must be Young Master Mercer, Miles Mercer. I was rude just now. You don’t need to buy the clothes; they’re all yours now."

"What?" Cameron Walker couldn’t believe it.

Miles Mercer... actually bought the store?

’Impossible. This is absolutely impossible!’

Cameron Walker looked at the manager. "Is there some mistake here? Are you two in on this together?"

The manager replied, "Young Master Mercer bought it fair and square with his own money. You saw it yourself just now."

"I don’t believe it! How could he possibly afford it? He’s just a poor bastard!"

Even now, Cameron Walker refused to believe that Miles Mercer was rich, still thinking of him as nothing but a poor bastard.

The manager almost laughed in exasperation. "Sir, do you live under a rock? Don’t you read the news or go online? You’re actually calling a young master of the Mercer Family a poor bastard? Do you not know who the Mercers are? Why don’t you go Google it?"

Now Cameron Walker was baffled. "The Mercer Family? Which Mercer Family?"

He did know of a Mercer Family, but they were in a completely different league, someone who would never appear in a place like Lustre.

Although he was married to Yara Scott, he never actually knew the name of Nina Scott’s husband.

’The Scott Family looked down on him and called him a poor bastard, so how could he possibly be from *that* Mercer Family!’

’It’s impossible, absolutely impossible!’

’There must be some mistake. Maybe their names just sound similar, and this manager is saying it on purpose.’

"How many Mercer Families could there be? Do you think Mercer is some common surname? This is the third young master of the Mercer Family, Miles Mercer."

Seeing Cameron Walker standing there dumbfounded, the manager took out his own phone, found news articles about the Mercer Family acquiring yet another company, about them being billionaires, about their assets ranking in the global top twenty, and shoved the screen in Cameron Walker’s face.

"Take a good look. It’s *this* Mercer Family. Are we clear now?"

Cameron Walker was completely frozen. His legs began to feel weak, and he nearly collapsed on the floor.

’Wasn’t he just an ordinary guy? How could he... How could he be one of the Mercers?’

He knew that the Mercer Family had built their empire in Elandra and had grown incredibly powerful. It was no exaggeration to call them the richest family in Elandra.

And he... he... he... he was one of the Mercers?

’What the hell is wrong with the Walker Family? To actually look down on Miles Mercer?’
