Chapter 591: Trying on the Wedding Dress

Ivy heard the voice and looked up in disbelief, turning her gaze toward the source.

"Nina!"

It wasn’t anyone else but Nina Scott!

Nina came in from outside and immediately hugged Ivy. "WAAH! Ivy, I missed you so much!"

Although they hadn’t been apart for long and kept in touch frequently, the moment they saw each other, all their excitement bubbled to the surface.

"I missed you too!" Ivy said. "Why didn’t you tell me in advance? I could have picked you up at the airport. When did you arrive in Aethelgard? Did you come with my brother and the others? Don’t tell me you came here just for him!"

Nina scoffed. "You heartless girl! What does this have to do with your brother? Of course I came here for you. How could I not be a part of the most important event of your life!"

Ivy suddenly realized something. "So, you’re the designer!"

"MHM!" Nina nodded proudly. "That’s right! It was your Mr. Blackwood who trusted me enough to give me this opportunity. He even paid a fortune to hire me and brought in an internationally renowned designer to assist me. Good heavens, my absolute idol actually became my assistant! You have no idea—I almost cried tears of joy."

"I’m almost crying too. I never expected..." Ivy never expected that Nina would be the one personally designing her wedding dress.

The two of them were completely overcome with emotion. Since Quentin had told her he would take care of the wedding dress, Ivy hadn’t needed to worry about it. She never imagined he would actually seek out Nina.

"We agreed a long time ago that when you got married, you absolutely had to wear a wedding dress I designed myself," Nina said.

Ivy nodded vigorously.

"Hurry up and try them on!" Nina urged. "Your Mr. Blackwood is still waiting for you over there. I’ll alter whatever doesn’t fit right. There are quite a few sets, including both traditional and Western styles. I’m going to make sure you’re the most beautiful bride in the world on your wedding day!"

Ivy looked up and saw Quentin standing not too far away.

The corners of his lips curled up slightly. He just watched her, not rushing her in the slightest.

Holding the clothes, Ivy headed into the inner room with Quentin.

"Thank you, Quentin!" Ivy was truly grateful.

"For what?"

"For letting Nina be the designer. I never expected to see her today. I’m so happy, so thank you."

Quentin smiled. "There’s no need to thank me. If you really want to, then just prepare yourself well. Next month, be my happy and beautiful bride!"

Ivy quickly changed into the wedding dress. Nina’s design was absolutely stunning—grand, majestic, and gorgeous. The intricate patterns added the perfect finishing touch. The pristine white gown made Ivy’s fair skin look even more radiant, and even without any makeup, she was breathtakingly beautiful.

Quentin was the first to see her. Without even blinking, he nodded. "Beautiful."

She really was beautiful. It felt as though he had stumbled upon a priceless treasure!

Because of her pregnancy, Ivy had a slight bump. Nina’s design was incredibly clever; she used the dress’s voluminous skirt to completely conceal Ivy’s belly. It was entirely unnoticeable and didn’t detract from the gown’s beauty in the slightest.

Meanwhile, Quentin’s dark suit was tailored to perfection, fitting his every measurement flawlessly. He was naturally tall, and the suit gave him an unparalleled aura of authority. Standing next to Ivy, the two of them looked like a match made in heaven.

When the couple finished changing and walked out of the room together, Nina and Miles Mercer were still bickering.

"Stay away from me. I don’t want to stand next to you!" Nina said, her face full of disgust.

"It’s not like I want to stand next to you either," Miles retorted. "Didn’t you notice how many women are around here?"

There were indeed quite a few people present today, most of them being young women.

Nina shot back, "Why are you so full of yourself? Those girls aren’t even near you, so what are you hiding from? Do you think you’re some kind of national treasure that everyone wants to stare at? Haven’t you noticed that no one is even giving you a second glance?"

She was still busy working, yet Miles insisted on hovering around and getting in her way.

"You don’t know that!" Miles replied, a hint of embarrassment flashing across his face.

Regardless, using the crowd as an excuse, he followed Nina wherever she went.

Once Ivy came out, Nina didn’t have time to keep bickering with Miles. She quickly rushed over, admiring Ivy in the wedding dress she had personally designed. It was truly a spectacular sight.

Nina walked up to adjust the gown slightly before giving Ivy a thumbs-up. "Ivy, I think you’re my walking billboard. I’m definitely going to take a bunch of photos of you later to promote our studio. When people see you wearing this out there, so many of them will choose our brand. Will you be my spokesperson?"

"No problem," Ivy agreed. "As long as you don’t mind me ruining your brand’s image."

"How could you ruin it? If you do this for me, my dresses will sell out completely!"

The two of them joked around for a bit before Nina inspected the dress again. It was still a little loose right now, but since Ivy’s belly would likely grow a bit more by next month, the fit would be absolutely perfect by the time of the wedding.

Nina jotted down the areas that needed alteration. While waiting for Ivy to change into the next outfit, she immediately started making the adjustments.

Nina knew Ivy inside and out, including her exact clothing measurements. As a result, every single outfit she designed fit Ivy like a glove. Whether it was a traditional or Western style, Ivy looked incredibly stunning in all of them. She looked like a runway model, carrying every piece flawlessly.

Nina was also highly satisfied. Seeing her own designs look so breathtaking on someone else gave her an immense sense of accomplishment as a designer.

They kept busy for the entire day. When they were finally done, having not seen each other for days, Ivy and Nina naturally had endless things to talk about.

The two of them headed straight back to the bedroom. With Nina around, Quentin was naturally kicked to the curb.

Lying on the bed, they caught up on recent events before speaking up at the exact same time.

"So now that the Scott family knows my brother’s identity, they’re practically treating you like royalty?"

"So your mother was actually with the King of Elandra? Could you be the King’s child?"

Both of them stared at each other in surprise before saying in unison, "You first!"

Nina laughed. "My stuff isn’t that interesting. You go first! I’m genuinely curious—could you really have a secret identity as the little princess of Elandra?"

Ivy was speechless. "Life isn’t some soapy melodrama. The facts have proven that I have no relation to Mr. Ovillette whatsoever."

"Why do I get the feeling it’s not that simple?" Nina muttered.

"Don’t overthink it. The kind of things that happen in TV shows don’t happen in real life."

"Why is it impossible? Your mom was with the King, wasn’t she? Normally, you wouldn’t have even dared to imagine something like that either, right?"
