Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Chapter 597: Touching Your Abs Isn’t Too Much, Right?

  • Next Chapter

After a brief chat between Nina and Seth, the car arrived at the Mercer villa.

Nina and Miles walked in together. The old man wasn’t asleep yet, and he was overjoyed to see Nina. "Nina! Come quick, come quick! It’s so good that the two of you could come back together!"

"Good evening, Grandpa."

"Good evening, good evening! Have you eaten? Or should I have Nanny King whip up something?"

"No need, Grandpa. We’ve already eaten."

Once they were in their room together, Miles said, "Just stay here with peace of mind for the next few days."

"But... but..." Nina still felt it was inappropriate.

Before, she had only stayed occasionally. If she lived here regularly, wouldn’t that mean sharing a room with Miles all the time? She didn’t mind, but it would be terrible for Miles’s reputation.

"But what?" Miles asked, looking at her as he closed the bedroom door.

"Don’t you find the sofa too small? Won’t it be uncomfortable?" Nina asked.

"Mm." Miles nodded. He was tall, and the sofa in the bedroom was indeed smaller than the one in the living room. It really wasn’t very comfortable for him to sleep on.

The Mercer family actually had more than just this one property. They weren’t short on money and had bought quite a few houses. Miles could have easily taken Nina to stay elsewhere. But while driving earlier, he had hesitated for a moment before bringing her here anyway.

With his grandfather around, this woman would be much more obedient.

"Why don’t I give you the bed and go squeeze in with Ivy?" Nina suggested after a moment’s thought. Instead of sleeping in the same room as Miles, she might as well be thick-skinned and act as a third wheel for Ivy. Besides, she could take care of her while she was at it.

"If you leave now, what do you think Grandpa will think? He’ll assume we had a fight, or that something happened to make us sleep in separate rooms. Then he won’t just nag me; he’ll nag you too," Miles said flatly.

Thinking it over, Nina realized he had a point. Grandpa would definitely get suspicious.

"I’m going to go wash up, then," she said, heading into the bathroom.

When she came back, Miles was already lying on the sofa, holding his phone.

She wondered how Miles was managing to sleep. The sofa had looked a bit small before, but hadn’t he fit just fine? Why were his feet hanging off the edge today?

"I’m done. You can go in."

"Mm." Miles got up, set down his phone, and went to the bathroom.

After blow-drying her hair, Nina picked up her phone, only to discover a new deposit in her account. It was followed by a string of zeros, clearly a substantial sum. Nina counted them—another hundred million. Needless to say, she knew exactly who had transferred the money.

When Miles finished his shower, Nina sat cross-legged on the bed and looked at him. "Why did you transfer money to me again?"

"Allowance," Miles replied, coming out while towel-drying his hair.

"I don’t need an al... allowance..." Nina stammered, her eyes glued to his body.

His pajama shirt wasn’t fully buttoned; the top two were undone. Under the light, his collarbones and chest were clearly visible. Lower down, his abs peeked through the opening.

Nina stared in a daze, her cheeks flushing without her realizing.

This man had a decent face, and his body wasn’t bad either. No wonder so many women loved throwing themselves at him. With his natural assets, even if he were broke, there would definitely be plenty of wealthy older women eager to keep him as a sugar baby.

"What are you looking at?" Miles felt her gaze.

"We’re legally married. Can’t I look? Besides, you’re dressed so decently, I can’t see a thing anyway. Why don’t you take it off and let your big sis appreciate the view?" To be honest, Nina really did want a better look.

"I’m older than you. You should be calling me ’big brother’."

"Older? Where exactly are you bigger? Take your clothes off and show me what you’ve got." Nina knew Miles hated this kind of talk, so she always used it to tease him.

Getting Miles to strip was surely impossible. The man guarded his modesty fiercely; he acted like he wanted to wear extra layers every time he went out.

To her surprise, however, Miles actually took it off. Unbuttoning the shirt, he revealed his torso.

Unlike bulky gym rats, Miles was on the leaner side. His muscles weren’t overly exaggerated, but they were incredibly aesthetically pleasing. His neatly defined six-pack, broad shoulders, and narrow waist, coupled with whatever lay hidden beneath his pajama pants, were enough to inspire a ten-thousand-word essay of wild fantasies.

"Is this impressive enough for you?" Miles asked, looking at her.

"Enough... This is more than enough!" she thought.

"Hold on a second." Nina pulled out her phone and snapped a quick picture. "I’m going to send this to Ivy. Good things should be shared!"

Miles was speechless.

Nina texted: "Ivy, look at this! A rare treasure!"

She immediately attached the photo. Then, she locked her screen and sneaked another glance at Miles. With that body, he could easily be a male model.

But Miles quickly put his shirt back on, cutting off her view.

Nina was still left wanting more, but she averted her gaze. "You don’t need to transfer money to me. It makes it feel like I’m your sugar baby or something. I have my own money. I’m going to send it back to you."

Nina didn’t want his money. But just as she picked up her phone to transfer it back, Miles suddenly walked right up to her. He reached out and snatched the device from her hand.

He had walked over while buttoning his shirt, so he wasn’t fully dressed yet. His bare chest, which had just been at a distance, was now right in front of her face.

Because Nina was sitting on the bed and Miles was standing, her eye level was perfectly aligned with his abs. Looking a little lower led to his most masculine feature. Even though his pajama pants were loose, Nina could still tell what he was truly packing. Especially since she had already felt it the last time she accidentally bumped into him in the dark.

"I’m not short on cash. You don’t need to send it back," Miles said.

Nina remained frozen in the same posture. Oh no. She felt like Miles’s voice had suddenly gotten huskier.

Her face was so red it looked like it might bleed. Completely at a loss, her breathing grew a fraction heavier. Because they were so close, her breath fanned directly across his abs.

Miles instantly felt the scorching heat of her breath. Even though they weren’t touching, his body suddenly flared with heat.

"You..."

"You..."

They spoke at the same time. Nina looked up, her gaze locking with his as he looked down at her.

Miles’s eyes were incredibly dark. Perhaps it was because of the angle, but those profound depths seemed to be swirling with an intense emotion.

Nina’s heart skipped a beat. Driven by some inexplicable urge, she reached out and pressed her hand against his bare skin.

"He’s right in front of me! Who could resist this? I’ll just touch him once—that’s not too much to ask, right?" she thought.
