Chapter 674: Airtight

“Master Qin certainly puts on a grand show!”

A strange, sarcastic voice called out.

Qin Feng looked over and saw a young man in a black robe glaring at him with hostility from behind several imposing figures.

He looked to be in his mid-twenties, with a high-bridged nose and a sinister gaze. He stared at Qin Feng, a cold sneer on his lips.

“And you are?”

Qin Feng’s eyes flashed as his gaze fell upon Fang Zhongyuan. This group of people had incredibly powerful auras—the one at the head was even a Saint—but of them all, he only recognized Fang Zhongyuan.

At this moment, Fang Zhongyuan was clearly not of high status among the group.

“Ah, Master Qin, allow me to make the introductions!” Fang Zhongyuan stepped forward with a smile. “This is the Great Village Chief of Shaoyang Stronghold, Nine Elements True Monarch!”

Qin Feng’s gaze followed his finger to a figure that seemed like a Divine Spirit.

He stood in the Void, like a great sun. Qin Feng could faintly sense nine extremely powerful streams of Primordial Qi churning within him, like nine Star Rivers, exceptionally tyrannical.

Qin Feng had heard of the Nine Elements True Monarch. He was the Village Chief of Shaoyang Stronghold.

Though both were Village Chiefs, the status of Shaoyang Stronghold’s Village Chief was leagues beyond that of the Peach Blossom Village Chief.

The Eastern Changle Wuji Fumo Heavenly King Palace has Nine Marshals under its command, and the Nine Elements True Monarch before him was one of them.

A Marshal, the strongest expert beneath the four Celestial Kings. Each one held the life and death of countless kingdoms in their hands.

This man could be considered Qin Feng’s direct superior!

After speaking, Fang Zhongyuan pointed to another figure, a strikingly handsome Daoist with billowing sleeves, clad in a Tai Chi Yin Yang Robe.

“This is Lord Su Qin, a Fourth-class Inspection Envoy of our Supervision Hall!”

‘A top spy!’

Looking at this kind-faced, gentle-eyed Daoist, this was the image that appeared in Qin Feng’s mind.

The Supervision Hall was essentially the secret police of the Star Sect.

Although this organization had never deliberately created an atmosphere of terror or framed anyone.

But throughout history, many major figures in the Star Sect, even Supreme Elders, had fallen at the hands of the Supervision Hall.

They had even taken down a Sect Leader.

‘Their power is overwhelming.’

These people were the ones closest to the Celestial Rules and Regulations.

They could even wield the power of the Celestial Rules from the great beyond.

The Supervision Hall has nine grades. The Ninth Grade is the lowest, scattered across the Domain of All Stars to monitor the various nations.

A Fourth-class Inspection Envoy, on the other hand, held immense power. If one of them went on a rampage, even a Supreme Elder would have to think twice.

“This is Cang Yu, a Fifth-Rank Curtain General of the Eastern Changle Wuji Fumo Heavenly King Palace!” Qin Feng’s gaze landed on a young man.

He was clad in dark green Armor, his eyes cold and indifferent. His killing intent formed a thick, chilling wind around him.

The Eastern Changle Wuji Fumo Heavenly King Palace, a Curtain General… Among the nine grades of generals, this position was considered a close attendant to the Celestial King!

Even a low-ranking official at a Prime Minister’s gate commands respect, to say nothing of a general who serves a Celestial King. To be an expert who could be in the Celestial King’s presence at all times spoke volumes of his status.

These were all major figures.

He was a Quasi-Saint, but Qin Feng could see that the Saints in the group did not look down on him in the slightest.

“This is Fifth-Grade Divine Supervisor Wei Changming of the Supervision Hall, Junior Martial Uncle Wei!”

“As for this one?” Fang Zhongyuan pointed to the sarcastic young man in the black robe. “This is Seventh-class Patrol Envoy Hua Zixu of the Supervision Hall!”

Qin Feng nodded. He had expected their origins, but he hadn’t anticipated such a grand lineup.

After a round of pleasantries, he led them into the Unity Hall and immediately cut to the chase.

“As I understand it, the Supervision Hall holds great power and authority, and its members are always busy. To what do I owe the honor of your visit?”

“Qin Feng, do you really not know why we’re here? There’s no need to play dumb. No matter how you try to hide, you will eventually show your true colors before our Supervision Hall!”

Hua Zixu was not being polite in the least. He held an undisguised enmity for Qin Feng.

“What am I supposed to know? Junior Brother Hua, you shouldn’t make baseless accusations. I know your Supervision Hall is powerful, so much so that even the Supreme Elders are wary of you, but you can’t just call a stag a horse and slander people out of thin air!”

Qin Feng looked at Hua Zixu with a glacial gaze.

As soon as he said this, the eyes of the Nine Elements True Monarch and Cang Yu flickered, and a trace of displeasure crossed their faces.

‘The Supervision Hall’s power is too great!’

Hua Zixu’s face darkened. He slammed the table and shot to his feet. “Qin Feng, even now, you’re still trying to twist right and wrong and stir up trouble?”

Glancing at the stone-faced Su Qin, Wei Changming, and the others, Qin Feng sneered inwardly. He shot to his feet, countering sharply, “I’m stirring up trouble? How dare you bite back and twist the truth! You came in here and immediately slapped such a huge label on me, a True Disciple. It seems even True Disciples are nothing but meat on a chopping block in your eyes. That really shows how impressive you people are. But I, Qin Feng, am no pushover! I am a True Disciple of the Star Sect, after all. I doubt the Elders of the Twenty-eight Peaks would stand by while one of their own is treated with such contempt and slandered!”

At these words, the expressions of Su Qin and Wei Changming, who had been content to watch the show, instantly changed.

Within the Star Sect, the Supervision Hall was an independent power. Backed by the Celestial Rules, it stood above worldly affairs and could take down even True Disciples, Supreme Elders, or the Sect Leader at will. It seemed to monopolize all authority.

But in reality, it was for this very reason that the Twenty-eight Peaks held a natural animosity and vigilance toward both the Supervision Hall and the Celestial Punishment Hall.

Qin Feng was a True Disciple, and thus a part of the Twenty-eight Peaks’ lineage. If this wasn’t handled well, it could truly trigger a major earthquake.

Hua Zixu’s face was grim. This was a sensitive issue. Even with his status as a disciple of the Supervision Hall, he didn’t dare speak recklessly at this moment.

But the more this was the case, the more he hated Qin Feng to the bone.

‘As a disciple of the Supervision Hall, even ordinary True Disciples have to show me some respect! When has anyone ever been so confrontational, talking back to my face like Qin Feng?’

‘Does he really think being a True Disciple means he can be lawless? Damn mongrel! Just you wait until you fall into my hands. I’ll make you wish you were dead!’

His heart filled with venomous hatred, Hua Zixu’s expression became utterly gloomy.

“Master Qin, you’re exaggerating. While the Supervision Hall holds great power, we do not abuse our authority. The Celestial Rules are perfectly just!”

Wei Changming’s gaze bored into Qin Feng.

“Master Qin, please answer carefully. What were you doing six days ago?”

‘Six days ago… that was when Lin Guangdong and Jiang Hanguang were killed!’

An immense pressure flooded the room, piercing straight to the depths of one’s heart. It was a Secret Technique of interrogation, judgment, and sentencing.

It targeted the very core of one’s being.

Ordinary experts, even Supreme Great Powers or Quasi-Saints, could not escape the interrogation of their own hearts.

Qin Feng felt a giant mirror appear before him.

Under the mirror’s revealing light, nothing could be hidden. His memories involuntarily drifted back to six days ago.

‘This is incredibly tyrannical!’

‘The Supervision Hall is more aggressive than I imagined, acting against a True Disciple without a moment’s hesitation!’

“Six days ago? I was in Fubo Cave six days ago!” Qin Feng said with a cold expression, but he was sneering inwardly. He was the Ancestor of Heart Demons; dealing with this kind of Secret Technique was his specialty.

Heart Demons were ever-changing, masters of concealment, blurring the lines between true and false, real and illusory.

“You can ask anyone else in Fubo Cave about this!”

As he said this, there wasn’t the slightest ripple in his true heart.

Su Qin, Wei Changming, and the others stared intently at Qin Feng. Hua Zixu was especially expectant. However, they were all soon disappointed…
