Chapter 696: The Ruins of Yuan Huang
Carefully examining the altar before him, Qin Feng frowned.
This was the only altar in the entire Earth Palace. Qin Feng could see it was surrounded by an extremely powerful Prohibition. If anyone were to rush in recklessly, even a Saint would suffer a great deal.
Yet aside from this Prohibition, there was nothing else—certainly no entrance to the Kunlun Spirit Ruins.
‘But the notes of that Kunlun Demon God recorded that the entrance was right here!’
After a moment of contemplation, Qin Feng exited the Earth Palace.
An hour later, he reappeared beside the altar.
He had searched the entire area beneath the Kunlun Platform.
There were many ruins beneath the Kunlun Platform, but Qin Feng deduced that this one was the most likely to hold the entrance to the Kunlun Spirit Ruins.
‘Could it be that the Kunlun Demon God’s notes were intentionally misleading, that it’s a trap!’
His gaze shifted as a thought occurred to him. His fingers weaved together rapidly, gathering a continuous stream of Cave Heaven True Power.
Suddenly, Qin Feng uttered a soft cry. “Condense!”
In the next instant, a strange, seemingly tangible sigil condensed between his palms.
HUMMM!
An invisible wave radiated from him, spreading slowly into the surrounding Void like ripples from a pebble dropped in a lake.
BOOM!
A moment later, with a shudder, Qin Feng felt the wave he had emitted collide with something, as if striking a reef. He looked up to see a spatial node appear before his eyes.
He sent his Divine Thought into it, only to find a vast emptiness.
‘Fake!’
The next moment, another soft sound reached his ears. Qin Feng followed the sound to investigate, but soon shook his head.
‘Another fake one!’
‘Fake!’
‘Fake!’
‘Fake!’
…
An hour later, after investigating countless false entrances, Qin Feng finally found the real entrance in an inconspicuous stele.
It was a low, unassuming stele, like one that would mark a manor. It was right by the entrance, extremely inconspicuous, and half-buried in the ground.
Carved upon it were two simple, unadorned words from the Ancient Texts: Kunlun Palace.
At first, Qin Feng hadn’t been certain. However, after Sensing an incredibly ingenious hidden Prohibition on the Stele, he was sure he had found the entrance.
It was a Prohibition called the Grand Thousand Cloud Dream Prohibition. Qin Feng had seen this kind of Prohibition in some powerful Ancient Ruins before.
This was an extremely high-level concealment Prohibition. Even an ordinary Venerable would be unable to discover it without some special ability.
In a flash, Qin Feng appeared before the stele.
With a flick of his wide sleeve, a jade-green bead appeared before him.
The Ancient Treasure, the Forbidden-Breaking Pearl!
A layer of jade-green brilliance flared, instantly dispelling the Prohibition on the stele.
“Kunlun!” A vast, majestic aura, reminiscent of the Barbaric Wilderness, rushed toward him. Qin Feng felt as if he were seeing a sky-supporting Divine Mountain, its endless majesty crashing into his True Soul.
It was the vast, boundless aura of Taigu.
‘That brat actually found the Kunlun Spirit Ruins?’ A trace of surprise flashed through the Demoness’s beautiful eyes. She had been observing coldly from the sidelines, watching Qin Feng eliminate possibilities and approach the real entrance.
The way Qin Feng searched the ruins gave her a peculiar feeling.
Familiar!
It was the confidence of someone entering another’s house as if it were their own.
This was definitely a veteran who had explored countless ruins!
RUMBLE!
The vast Taigu aura shook his True Soul. But far from being alarmed, Qin Feng’s face lit up with immense joy. His True Soul transformed into a simple, unadorned Innate Yin Yang Black and White Divine Map, ravenously devouring the Taigu aura emanating from the ancient word like a starving wolf.
‘He actually knows what’s valuable. The Taigu era was close to the Dao, and the residual essence in the word “Kunlun” is the last remnant of the Kunlun of Ancient Times. If he were to Refine it into those five great mountains of his, the benefits would be endless!’
The Taigu Kunlun was the Ancestral Vein of the Ancestor of Ten Thousand Mountains and contained Ancient Divine Power. If he could fuse this aura with his Chaos Mountain, the benefits would be endless.
In the future, it might not be impossible for him to forge it into a true Divine Mountain!
The Demoness was secretly puzzled.
Qin Feng’s insight astonished her. An ordinary person would have simply overlooked it!
As Qin Feng devoured the aura, his soul slowly comprehended it. After he fused with a trace of Taigu power, his True Soul visibly contracted. Flashes of Thunder shook it, like a Divine Embryo forming amidst the thunderbolts. Its very essence was being elevated, and it now possessed a majestic pressure it lacked before, like that of the mighty Kunlun itself.
The next moment, Qin Feng’s True Soul transformed, becoming a majestic Divine Mountain from which emanated a trace of power capable of suppressing the Firmament.
With this transformation, the entire Chaos Cave Heaven changed as well. The Crystal Wall Element filled with a heavy and majestic Divine Power, and the sense of instability from its recent advancement vanished in an instant.
The Great Powers and Quasi-Saints sealed within the Grotto Heaven felt this change most clearly.
The Grotto Heaven, which had felt somewhat unstable, suddenly became as solid as an iron plate. A crushing pressure descended from the Void, making it almost impossible to breathe.
The greatest change, however, was to the Chaos Mountain within the Grotto Heaven. What had once looked like an ordinary, giant mountain now resembled Buzhou Mountain—propping up the heavens, immovable, and shaking the very earth.
A moment later, Qin Feng’s consciousness returned, a look of joy on his face. With a shift of his gaze, he shot like a streak of light into the Kunlun Stele.
When he reappeared, he found himself inside a palace.
The palace was enormous but looked old and dilapidated, as if scarred by the blade of time. The air was thick with the aura of crumbling ruins.
‘This is the Kunlun Spirit Ruins?’
Qin Feng sensed an emptiness, along with an aura of decay and decline.
The entire Kunlun Spirit Ruins, much like the Earth God Secret Realm, felt like the twilight of a dying world, permeated by an apocalyptic air of death.
‘It seems it won’t be long before this Kunlun Spirit Ruins faces Annihilation!’
He sighed softly.
Qin Feng’s gaze swept across the palace as he searched it carefully. A moment later, he shook his head.
There had once been countless Spirit Medicines and Spiritual Roots around the palace, including many rare specimens, but they all looked as though they had been ravaged.
The Alchemy Room did contain quite a few petrified Elixirs.
The Hidden Soldier Cave was also completely empty.
All around were traces of fierce battles fought over Treasures.
Qin Feng could tell that internal strife had broken out within the Kunlun Sacred Land before its fall!
Weathered white bones were scattered everywhere!
On the mountain behind the palace, Qin Feng found a vast Spirit Medicine Garden. Inside it, he discovered several skeletons, seated as if in meditation when they passed.
The skeletons glowed with a simple, ancient gold, possessing a tremendous majesty, like that of a Taigu Giant Beast.
These were Holy Bones!
Moreover, they weren’t ordinary Saints, but ancient beings of at least the Great Saint Level!
These old Saints appeared to have died tragically. Their Holy Bones were incomplete, as if they had been cleaved apart by a Supreme Divine Weapon!
After searching the area and finding nothing, Qin Feng flashed back to the palace, arriving at the grand hall in the very center.
“Primordial Emperor Hall!”
Gazing at the three large words that exuded a majesty like that of a Divine Spirit, Qin Feng’s eyes flickered.
Every generation of the Kunlun Sacred Land produced a host of experts!
The last Saint Master was called Yuan Huang. He, too, was a supreme expert of his generation.
A strange, magnificent power still lingered in this Central Divine Hall, preventing easy entry. Standing before the grand hall, Qin Feng sensed that if he tried to force his way in, something disastrous would likely happen!
