Xuanwu War Sovereign
Chapter 700: A Deadly Setup
Qin Feng traveled at full speed, even faster than before.
However, when he was about a thousand miles from Earth Pole City, Qin Feng suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Sweeping his gaze across the Void, Qin Feng sneered.
“Come on out!”
For a long moment, the Void remained silent.
Qin Feng laughed scornfully. “Since you all dared to ambush me, surely you’re not too scared to show yourselves!”
Qin Feng continued, “Since you’re not willing to come out, I’ll just have to blast you out!”
With a shake of his great sleeve, Qin Feng unleashed ten thousand bolts of Five Elements Annihilation Thunder from within it, blasting them into the Void.
BOOM! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
Like rain battering a banana leaf, a huge section of the Void was instantly destroyed and distorted.
Along with an angry curse, a giant, chaos-colored umbrella appeared, trembling incessantly like a banana leaf pelted by a downpour.
A savage-looking man with black wings sprouting from his back cursed angrily, his heart aching as he put away the giant umbrella.
‘He could actually see through the Heavenless Umbrella’s concealment! What a formidable character!’ The few Saints, who were radiating a murderous aura, stared at Qin Feng in shock.
The Heavenless Umbrella was the Supreme Treasure that had made the Wutian Saint famous.
A Postnatal True Artifact with eighteen Heavenly Gang Prohibitions.
This Treasure could conceal all traces. Not even a Saint proficient in Innate Divine Calculation could necessarily find those sheltered by the Heavenless Umbrella.
“One, two, three, four, five… Two Quasi-Saints and three Saints?”
Qin Feng’s gaze was ice-cold as he watched the five experts, who were now revealed and exuding a monstrously fierce aura.
If not for his recent surge in power, he might not have been able to discover the five experts hidden in the Void.
Qin Feng’s expression was grim. “Who are you? Why did you set up an ambush in the Void?”
The auras of the five were a mixed bag. There were Demon Fiends, an Alien Race, and even a Human Race Saint. For a moment, Qin Feng couldn’t discern their origins.
What the five did have in common, however, was an extremely strong Evil Qi. They were clearly vicious killers who had stained their hands with countless blood.
The five experts sneered sinisterly.
The Wutian Saint was the most vicious of them all. He was a monster born from the world’s baleful energy. With his Heavenless Umbrella damaged, he was already finding it difficult to contain his killing intent.
He cackled grimly. “Qin Feng, you don’t need to know who we are. You may have seen through our tracks, but today, you will not escape your doom!”
Qin Feng carefully studied the fierce Saint with the cyan complexion. From this man, Qin Feng sensed an aura of world-slaughter, but also a barbaric air that seemed to want to devour the universe.
“You’re one of the Barbarian Ancestor’s experts. If I’m not mistaken, you must be Li Lu, son of the Wuhuai Clan’s chief!”
“You know me?” The Wutian Saint’s face stiffened, a flicker of gloom passing through his eyes.
The other four experts exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with astonishment.
The Wutian Saint was different from them. He was actually a figure from the Ancient Era who had only recently reawakened. Logically, no one should have recognized him.
Qin Feng sneered. “Of course I know you. The son of the Wuhuai Clan’s chief is quite famous!”
The chief of the Wuhuai Clan was a King from an Ancient Tribe.
He himself was a Bright Monarch, but his son, Li Lu, was born imbued with the world’s perverse and violent energies. From a young age, he possessed Divine Power, able to wrestle flying dragons with his bare hands and tear apart rhinos and elephants. He was extraordinarily fierce and brave.
But because he acted so perversely, his own clansmen could no longer endure his tyranny and joined forces to exile him to South Mountain.
Li Lu had an extremely violent temperament. He considered this exile the greatest humiliation of his life. The more he stewed on it, the more resentful he became, until he grew ill from pure rage. Within a few years, he had literally angered himself to death.
When his father, the chief of the Wuhuai Clan, saw that his beloved son had died, he was overwhelmed with grief. He wept and lamented his regrets every day, and in less than a year, he too passed away.
The new King who took the throne was a powerful minister of the Wuhuai Clan named Bai Huang. He was treacherous, cunning, and cruel. Under the pretext of commemorating the former king’s virtue and might, he hatched a wicked plot.
He had an enormous tomb constructed for the Wuhuai father and son on South Mountain.
He used over one hundred thousand laborers, forcing all the wise and brave people of the kingdom to toil on this royal project so they would have no time for other matters. This allowed him to secure his position as Monarch.
Three days after construction began, the main burial chamber was completed. At that point, Beiche had all the former king’s close ministers sealed inside, telling the public they had volunteered to be buried with their lord. The project lasted for seventeen years until the entire tomb was finished. By then, the whole kingdom was in an uproar, and Bai Huang was ultimately killed by a mob of angry citizens.
However, what Bai Huang had never expected was that a vein of ghostly energy ran beneath South Mountain, making it a place of great evil. Nurtured by this energy, the deep-seated resentment of the Wuhuai father and son allowed them to come back to life over time, but they returned as undead Demon Corpses.
The father and son pair had a stroke of good fortune. Not long after becoming Demon Corpses, they encountered the Barbarian Ancestor.
And who was the Barbarian Ancestor? He was a peerless Fierce God, capable of contending with the Five Desolate Emperors.
During his reign, he unified the Barbaric Wilderness, and even the many Demon Gods could only submit to his rule.
This Barbarian Ancestor appreciated their potential and taught the two Demon Corpses many Secret Techniques, promoting them to the rank of general.
From then on, in the subsequent struggle against the Central Wilderness Emperor, the two shone brilliantly. Many experts under the Central Wilderness Emperor’s command met their end at the hands of these two Demon Corpses.
Later, after the Barbarian Ancestor was suppressed, the two Demon Corpses were captured by the Central Wilderness Emperor. He used the earth itself as their prison, dispelled their Demon Qi and Corpse Qi, and imprisoned their Holy Souls. It was rumored that the Central Wilderness Emperor had long since used a Secret Technique to refine them to death. To think that Li Lu had actually managed to escape.
The man before him was a legendary villain from the epics.
‘It seems the Barbarian Ancestor is also beginning to revive. These people must be his lingering remnants. They’re probably trying to free the suppressed Barbarian Ancestor!’
Qin Feng sighed inwardly.
With the dawn of a new Great Era, all sorts of old fossils were crawling out of the woodwork.
This Barbarian Ancestor was a peerless Fierce God who had once contended with the Central Wilderness Emperor. Even the Demon Gods had been forced to submit to his tyrannical might. If he were to be unleashed upon the world, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Red light flickered in the eyes of another, the Flame Saint. He said indifferently, “Boy, you have some knowledge, but you are still going to die today. However, considering your potential, I will give you one chance. Swear loyalty to Lord Barbarian Ancestor and offer up a sliver of your Primordial Soul, and I can spare your life!”
“Let’s not even talk about handing over my Primordial Soul and being controlled by you. Just the lot of you, the Barbarian Ancestor’s remnants, are not enough to do anything to me, Qin Feng!” Qin Feng shook his head.
According to what Qin Feng knew, the Barbarian Ancestor’s faction was not particularly strong in the Early Stage of the Golden Era. Although he eventually emerged, he had ultimately lost the initiative.
“You don’t know what’s good for you!” the Flame Saint said with a hint of regret. A flicker of flame sparked in his eyes, and in an instant, a colossal, sky-blotting hand came crashing down toward Qin Feng.
The Wutian Saint, the Dark Yin Saint, and the other two Quasi-Saints all attacked at once.
It was a deathblow!
Three Barbaric Saints and two Quasi-Saints joining forces—the might of their combined attack seemed to freeze Space-Time itself. As their vast power descended, hundreds of feet of the Void in front of Qin Feng were directly shattered by the force of the Saint’s Law.
The five attackers’ expressions were varied: some savage, some indifferent, some sneering.
The five of them had come here to set up this ambush ever since receiving a message from Chimo.
They were already clear on Qin Feng’s intelligence.
Martial Arts Great Power Realm, a Medium-sized Grotto Heaven, and possibly a True Artifact for protection. To the average person, this was terrifying, but the five of them had already calculated that with Qin Feng’s strength, he could kill one Saint at most.
Now, with three Saints and two Quasi-Saints attacking with their full power, even if Qin Feng utilized his Medium-sized Grotto Heaven, there could only be one outcome.
Instant death. Utter annihilation!
