Xuanwu War Sovereign
Chapter 703: A Mythological Existence
Li Yu, Village Chief of Zhonghuang Stronghold, had been a renowned powerhouse several hundred years ago.
Legends of him slaying demons and traveling between kingdoms still circulated among the many ancient nations.
Qin Feng never imagined he would meet this legendary hero here.
“Junior Brother Qin Feng, we’ve received orders to handle the cleanup for you!”
The Li Yu of today no longer possessed the dashing, handsome appearance recorded in the books. He now looked like a weather-beaten old man, his face etched with the vicissitudes of life.
He appeared exceptionally kind and wise, though a hint of majesty occasionally flashed in his eyes.
In truth, for someone at the Great Power Realm, maintaining a youthful appearance wasn’t difficult. However, not all Martial Artists chose to look young.
Li Yu was a Saint, wreathed in the Laws of the Saint Dao. He felt like an immense, imposing star.
An aura that shared the same stellar origin made Qin Feng nod inwardly.
‘This Senior Brother arrived quickly.’ Qin Feng had been worrying about how to handle the powerful members of the Demon Race who had surrendered.
‘Oh well, I’ll just leave this to Senior Brother Li Yu.’
He gave a slight nod. Just as he was about to speak, countless streaks of starlight flew toward them from the horizon.
The Star Soldiers and Star Generals of the Twelfth Army had arrived.
“General! Senior Uncle Li Yu!” Assistant General Changqin flew over. Clad in silvery-white battle armor, he cut a heroic and valiant figure.
“Ah, Crown Prince Changqin.” Li Yu nodded.
“Crown Prince?” Qin Feng’s expression flickered.
Taking in Qin Feng’s expression, Li Yu chuckled. “Changqin is the Crown Prince of the Zhurong Kingdom. He carries the bloodline of the Zhurong Clan from Ancient Times—the direct lineage of the Fire God, you could say!”
“The Zhurong Clan?”
Qin Feng looked at Changqin in surprise.
The Zhurong Clan was one of the strongest clans under the Ancient Witch Ancestor.
The Witch Ancestor was a figure from the Ancient Era, a peerless expert from before the Three Emperors Era. He single-handedly created the Witchcraft Dao and once dominated an entire epoch.
The Zhurong Clan produced some of the Witch Ancestor’s most powerful experts, leaving behind an immortal legacy in the annals of mythology.
However, following the decline of the Witchcraft Dao, the Zhurong Clan also declined, just like the Pangu Clan.
But the Zhurong Clan’s situation was a bit better. The Zhurong Clan established the Zhurong Kingdom in the Domain of All Stars. It is an Upper Grade Commandery Kingdom, second only to the Nine Great Empires.
Its kingdom is vast, and the clan is prosperous.
‘Legend tells of a son of the Zhurong Clan in Ancient Times named Changqin. But the title of Fire God was already held by Zhurong himself, forcing Changqin to seal himself away. Could the Crown Prince before me be that very son of the Fire God Zhurong?’
A peculiar glint flashed in Qin Feng’s eyes as he mulled over this theory.
‘In the future, the title of Elemental Fire God is supposed to fall into his hands.’
Qin Feng felt he was most likely correct.
‘This man before me probably hasn’t recovered his true memories yet, or perhaps his real body is still sealed away somewhere.’
After a moment of thought, Qin Feng said, “Changqin, you’ll follow Senior Brother Li Yu for now. He will be your commander.”
Changqin’s expression flickered. He glanced at the tens of thousands of Star Soldiers and Star Generals behind Li Yu and nodded slightly.
Without dallying, Qin Feng continued on toward the seventh Demon City.
The route marked on his scroll contained a total of eleven ordinary Demon Cities and three giant cities.
Now, five Demon Cities and one giant city remained. Qin Feng felt he had to pick up the pace.
Gazing at the Giant Sword in his hand, Qin Feng’s eyes turned sharp.
Li Yu, Changqing, and the others sensed the Evil Qi in Qin Feng’s eyes. They couldn’t help but feel a moment of pity for the demons that lay ahead.
Qin Feng, dragging his Chaos Sword, was just ridiculously powerful!
Saints, and perhaps even Saint Kings, would be nothing more than ghosts cut down by his blade!
「Inside the Cave Mansion of Ancient Origin Cave.」
Ye Ding’s expression was grim.
“You’re saying Qin Feng has a Medium-sized Grotto Heaven, and he also broke through to the Supreme Great Power Realm?”
The jealousy in Ye Ding’s eyes practically burst into flames, and a nameless rage surged within him.
‘The Supreme Great Power Realm… How long has it even been?!’
‘Even with the Kunpeng Essence Blood, I barely survived advancing to the Martial Dao Great Power Realm!’
“How could that little bastard break through to the Second Order Supreme Great Power Realm!”
CRACK!
The magnificent golden throne in his hand warped, crushed into fine gold dust.
“And that’s not all. The second great city, Earth Pole City, has also been breached. Its three City Lords—Riding Path Saint, Earth Element Saint, and Earth Dragon Saint—were all cleaved to death by him in a single sword strike!”
The middle-aged man sighed, a look of resignation in his eyes.
Qin Feng’s rate of growth was simply staggering.
“What? He killed three Saints with one sword strike?” Ye Ding could hardly believe his ears.
He had always been self-assured. Ever since the Ye Family was destroyed, his path had been one of smooth sailing. Though he faced many tribulations, he not only survived them all but also managed to conquer numerous Female Knights, Demonesses, and Saintesses along the way.
It had been a glorious journey.
Later, he was even taken in as the adopted son of the Star Sect’s foremost True Inheritance disciple. He could have anything he wanted, and his cultivation had advanced by leaps and bounds.
Among his peers, no one was his match. Any who came close simply became stepping stones for his own advancement.
Until he met Qin Feng!
He had lost count of how many times he had been trampled underfoot by Qin Feng.
He kept telling himself it was only temporary. And it was true—his power had been advancing at a ferocious pace, far outstripping even some of the most monstrous talents.
But Qin Feng’s progress was even faster.
Being surpassed once wasn’t terrifying, but being stomped underfoot every single time—that feeling was driving Ye Ding mad.
“Qin Feng!”
Ye Ding’s expression was utterly ferocious. But alongside the rage, a thick, bitter feeling of resentment rose from the depths of his heart.
‘Qin Feng! If my adoptive father hadn’t used a Secret Technique to temporarily borrow a part of my Qi Fortune, do you really think I couldn’t kill you? You’d be nothing but another one of my defeated opponents! I would have devoured you long ago! It’s infuriating! My adoptive father is at a critical juncture and can’t intervene, otherwise why would I be in such a passive position!’
Ye Ding ground his teeth, wishing he could shatter Qin Feng’s bones and suck out his marrow.
“Little Junior Brother, should we proceed?”
The Bihuan Village Chief, dressed in green, gazed at Ye Ding.
The Bihuan Village Chief’s standing was no less than that of the other Village Chiefs. In fact, his position should have been far above Ye Ding’s.
But Ye Ding’s status was exceptional. Being the adopted son of the Star Sect’s foremost True Inheritance disciple was a role far more significant than one might think.
Moreover, before that True Inheritance disciple left, he had given an order that if necessary, everyone was to obey Ye Ding’s command.
His pupils were like those of an Ancient Fierce Beast. Ye Ding sneered, “No need. Someone else will make a move for us.”
The Bihuan Village Chief looked thoughtful. “Is Little Junior Brother referring to Inspector Hua Zixu of the Supervision Hall? Forgive my bluntness, but while Hua Zixu is powerful, comparing him to Qin Feng is like comparing a firefly to the bright moon. I fear he’s no match for him.”
“I know he’s no match for Qin Feng. Hua Zixu is a fool blinded by jealousy. All for that woman, Honglian. Right now, he wants nothing more than to tear Qin Feng limb from limb!”
The Bihuan Village Chief frowned. “And what do you mean by that, Little Junior Brother?”
Ye Ding gave a sinister sneer. “Tell me, what do you think the sect would do if Qin Feng were to ‘accidentally’ kill Hua Zixu?”
The Bihuan Village Chief’s expression shifted, and a faint smile emerged. “Killing a fellow disciple? He would, of course, be stripped of everything and thrown into the Demon Refining Tower, doomed for all eternity!”
