Chapter 705: Nightmare City

“Should we send someone to rescue them?”

Inside Shaoyang Stronghold, the Village Chiefs watched Gongsun Jiuniang’s predicament, and their expressions turned grim.

Eight Saints besieging three—the odds were overwhelming.

All eyes turned to Le Wudao, Ren Changhong, and Yan Feng, the three who were temporarily fulfilling the duties of Shaoyang Stronghold’s own Village Chiefs.

Le Wudao, their leader, shook his head. “It’s fine. Gongsun Jiuniang hasn’t sent a distress signal yet!”

The various Village Chiefs exchanged a look and shook their heads to themselves.

Sending a distress signal would be seen as automatically forfeiting her claim to the position of Peach Blossom Village Chief. Gongsun Jiuniang was far too proud; she would never admit defeat so easily.

Sweeping his gaze over the assembled Village Chiefs, Yan Feng smiled. “There’s no need to worry. Don’t forget, Gongsun Jiuniang is from Liu Tu Peak. The Five Saints of Liu Tu have extensive connections. I imagine it won’t be long before a Saint from the Twenty-eight Peaks descends to help!”

Hearing this, the Village Chiefs nodded to themselves.

According to the rules, they were not to attempt a rescue unless the Commander of the Twelve Armies sent a signal.

But if they just sat back and watched a sect expert perish, they would have to bear significant blame when the sect inevitably held them accountable.

Seeing the expressions on the Village Chiefs’ faces, Le Wudao, Yan Feng, and Ren Changhong couldn’t help but smile wryly.

At this moment, nearly all of Shaoyang Stronghold’s experts at the Saint level and above had already been dispatched. They were currently tied down by reinforcements from the Golden Light Demon Capital’s central army. Where would they find any more experts to send out?

The Village Chiefs before them were available, but they were their last reserve of power and couldn’t be deployed rashly. If they were sent out, they would lose the initiative in the overall battle.

Unless the three of them went themselves. But against so many Saints, even if all three of them joined the fray, it was unlikely they could turn the tide.

“Unless…”

“Unless we ask Qin Feng to make a move!”

The three exchanged a look, their gazes falling upon a Primordial Light Mirror.

Like an unstoppable force, Qin Feng had easily destroyed another Demon City blocking his path.

This was the eleventh Demon City.

Ever since he had advanced to the level of a Supreme Great Power, the Demon King guards of these Demon Cities were no match for him.

The strongest among these guardian Demon Kings were merely Yang God Quasi-Saints.

Now, in the face of Qin Feng’s advanced Cave Heaven Power, a Yang God Quasi-Saint was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot—utterly crushed in a single blow!

In just half a day, and with seemingly no effort at all, Qin Feng had fought his way to the last of the great cities.

‘Xuanxin City?’

Qin Feng stared in astonishment at the colossal city before him. Its high parapets soared into the clouds, like something from a mythical kingdom of the gods.

Looking up, the walls seemed to disappear into the heavens, a truly magnificent sight.

Yet, Qin Feng sensed a tremendous, imposing aura emanating from the city—a pressure that weighed on the very depths of his soul.

Gazing at the great city, it was as if he could see a terrifying King enthroned in the deepest darkness.

‘Looks like this one won’t be easy.’

As he mulled this over, Qin Feng sized up the great city. To his surprise, he found that it had no entrance; it was completely enclosed by walls on all four sides.

He shot up into the clouds, only to discover in amazement that the walls seemed to grow along with his line of sight. No matter how high he went, all he could see was an endlessly tall parapet with no border in sight.

‘What is this power?’

He had a theory. After a moment of contemplation, he flicked his wide sleeve, and thousands upon thousands of five-colored lightning bolts bombarded the parapet.

The Five Elements Annihilation Thunder, which could normally shatter mountains, struck the parapet like raindrops on a leaf, merely causing ripples to spread across its surface.

‘Just as I thought!’

A flicker of understanding flashed in Qin Feng’s eyes.

With a calm gaze fixed on Xuanxin City, Qin Feng called out, “Master of Xuanxin City, a guest has come to call. Is turning them away at the door any way to show hospitality?”

“Impudent whelp, what kind of guest are you? You destroyed my Golden Radiance Land, plundered my people, and killed my kin! I wish I could eat your flesh and drink your blood. However, I am not a petty man. You little scoundrel, if you have the guts, then come in!”

Accompanied by a bone-chilling sneer, a gate of light appeared on the parapet, just large enough for a person to enter.

Qin Feng scoffed. “You old fiend Xuanxin. I’ve heard you were once the eyeball of an Ancient Demon God, and that you achieved enlightenment by cultivating the Nightmare Law. And yet you dare show off these cheap tricks before me? What a joke. You want me to come in? Fine, I’ll come in. What can you possibly do to me?!”

A sinister, cold glint flashed in his eyes.

In a flash, Qin Feng transformed into a streak of light and entered Xuanxin City without a moment’s hesitation.

Upon entering Xuanxin City, Qin Feng felt the environment shift instantly. It was as if he had plunged into the deepest darkness, surrounded by a void of silent Annihilation.

There was no up or down, no left or right, not even a sense of Space-Time.

He looked around into an endless void. The suffocating aura of Annihilation was palpable. It felt as if a Fierce God from the Taigu era was lurking in the darkness, waiting to tear him to pieces.

Deep within Xuanxin City, in a grand palace, a withered old man radiating Evil Qi sat upon a throne, sneering as he gazed into a mirror.

The mirror showed Qin Feng’s figure. He stood in the darkness, frowning and looking around warily.

“This brat is unbelievably audacious. Does he really think Xuanxin City is just some place he can come and go as he pleases? Today, Xuanxin City will be his grave!”

Flanking the palace hall, five or six other Saints exchanged a look upon hearing this. One of them chuckled.

“The Ancestor’s fame is legendary; of course a wet-behind-the-ears brat like him wouldn’t know of it. When the Ancestor roamed the Barbaric Wilderness, this kid hadn’t even been born. He’s clearly ignorant, otherwise he wouldn’t have walked right into his own grave!”

The six Saints in the hall had all come from the depths of the Barbaric Wilderness to defend the Golden Light Demon Capital.

The strongest among them was Wuding Demon Saint, the one who had just spoken.

Besides Wuding Demon Saint, there were five other Saints from the Barbaric Wilderness, including the Nine Infant Demon Saint, the Ox Demon Ancestor, and the Qingyang Ancestor.

The Nine Infant Demon Saint laughed. “The boy is courting death. He’s so arrogant, foolishly walking right into the Ancestor’s Nightmare Space. If he knew the true power of the Nightmare Space, I bet he’d piss his pants in fear!”

Wuding Demon Saint nodded, a smile in his eyes. “Back when the Ancestor was making a name for himself in the Spirit Sea Realm, he was known as the Ancestor of Nightmares. Countless sects trembled in fear at his name, and for a time, the very words ‘Nightmare Space’ became taboo!”

A terrifying smile spread across Xuanxin Ancestor’s withered face. “My dear brothers, you flatter me. Ancestor of Nightmares? It was merely a trifle, born from a fleeting moment of inspiration!”

Despite his words, a trace of smug satisfaction showed on his face.

“Looks like we came all this way for nothing, then?” the Ox Demon Ancestor said in his rumbling voice, causing several of the other Demon Saints to share a knowing smile.

‘What a formidable old demon,’ Qin Feng thought. ‘Just as I suspected, he fused his Lifebound Cave Heaven with the city itself. It can shift between solid and illusory, a mixture of real and unreal. Truly impressive!’

Qin Feng smacked his lips, his eyes gleaming as he sized up his surroundings. It was as if he could smell something delicious in the air. A strange smile crept onto his face, like a gourmand who had just spotted an exquisite delicacy…
