Young Mafia POV: Woke Up As A Mafia Heir In A Game
Chapter 51: Ice-Yetis [1]
A big figure swung its thick arm toward a guy with twin axes on both of his hands.
It resembled a bear but with humanoid features, it had pure white fur and it was tall five meters.
However, it was slow, both in its movements and in its attacks, allowing the guy with twin axes to slash one of its shoulders.
GRRRRR
A low growl resounded from the tall beast as a wound appeared on its body but the cold winds in the surroundings gathered on that spot, fixing the injury.
’They are easy to fight but hard to kill.’
The twin axe guy, of course, Lorenzo, testing the limits of the rank [E] Ice- Yeti in front of him.
After declining Alex offer, He had moved deep into the mountain range toward its peak, separating himself from the rest of the students.
It’s been only 20 minutes since he happened to run into Ice-Yeti.
The Ice-Yeti let out another furious growl as it swung its enormous arm toward Lorenzo.
Lorenzo sidestepped the attack with minimal effort.
BOOM!
The creature’s fist slammed into the snow-covered ground, sending chunks of ice flying in every direction.
Lorenzo paid little attention to the destruction.
Instead, he tightened his grip on the twin axes in his hands and examined the monster’s shoulder.
The wound he had inflicted moments ago had already disappeared.
The surrounding mana gathered around the injured area, freezing the blood and reconstructing the damaged flesh until not even a scar remained.
"Annoying."
He clicked his tongue.
The Ice-Yeti was only an E rank monster, yet its regenerative abilities made it considerably more troublesome than ordinary creatures of the same rank.
Its movements were slow, its attacks were predictable, and its fighting style was practically nonexistent.
In terms of combat ability, Lorenzo held an overwhelming advantage.
However, there was one problem.
The damn thing refused to stay injured.
"Let’s try something else."
Lorenzo shifted his stance.
"Axe Of Slaughter"
He then activated his S rank weapon art.
The moment Lorenzo activated his weapon art, the mana surrounding his twin axes changed.
A faint crimson glow spread across their blades, accompanied by an oppressive bloodlust that made the surrounding air feel heavier.
The Ice-Yeti instinctively stepped backward.
Unfortunately for the creature, Lorenzo had already moved.
Whoosh!
He dashed forward, swinging his right axe toward the monster’s injured shoulder.
CLANG!
The blade struck its thick hide, sending sparks flying as a layer of ice formed over the impact point.
However, Lorenzo didn’t stop there.
He twisted his body and brought his left axe down on the same spot.
CRACK!
The ice shattered, and the blade sank into the creature’s flesh.
GRRRRAAAH!
The Ice-Yeti roared in pain and swung its enormous arm toward Lorenzo.
Lorenzo ducked beneath the attack and stepped around its side, his movements smooth and economical.
He struck again.
And again.
Each successive blow grew heavier as the effect of [Slaughter Instinct] accumulated.
The Ice-Yeti’s regenerative abilities struggled to keep up with the damage. Although the surrounding mana continued gathering around its wounds, Lorenzo’s relentless attacks repeatedly tore through the regenerating flesh before it could fully recover.
So that’s how it works.
Lorenzo’s eyes narrowed with interest.
The weapon art wasn’t merely increasing his offensive power. The longer he maintained his assault, the more dangerous his attacks became.
However, he could also feel the strain accumulating in his arms and shoulders.
Even with his E- rank body, wielding an S-rank weapon art wasn’t something he could do indefinitely.
’I need to finish this soon.’
The Ice-Yeti suddenly slammed both fists into the ground.
BOOM!
A wave of freezing mana erupted from beneath its feet, spreading across the snow-covered ground.
Lorenzo immediately leaped backward.
Sharp ice spikes erupted where he had been standing a moment earlier, narrowly missing his legs.
The monster seized the opportunity and charged toward him.
Its enormous body shook the ground with every step.
Lorenzo watched its approach without moving.
At the last moment, he stepped aside.
The Ice-Yeti rushed past him, exposing its back.
Lorenzo tightened his grip on both axes.
"You’re finished."
He crossed his arms before abruptly uncrossing them, sending both blades crashing into the back of the monster’s neck.
CRAAACK!
The combined force of the strikes shattered the thick layer of ice protecting its neck and cut deeply into its flesh.
The Ice-Yeti staggered.
Before it could turn around, Lorenzo raised his right axe and struck again.
This time, its head separated from its body.
THUD!
The enormous creature collapsed into the snow, sending a cloud of white powder into the air.
Lorenzo stood beside the corpse, breathing slightly harder than before.
A few seconds later, his smartwatch vibrated.
[Monster Eliminated: Ice-Yeti]
[Rank: E]
[Number Of Kills: 1]
Lorenzo glanced at the notification before dismissing it.
"So, that’s one."
He looked at the bloodstained blades in his hands.
The fight hadn’t been particularly difficult, but it had provided him with valuable information about his newly acquired weapon art.
More importantly, he had confirmed that the longer he maintained an offensive, the more effective his attacks became.
The drawback was the physical strain.
He would need to improve his body and mana control before he could use the weapon art against stronger opponents for an extended period.
Lorenzo deactivated [Axe of Slaughter], and the crimson glow surrounding his weapons gradually disappeared.
He then stored the axes in his storage device.
"Well, that was worth the effort."
He turned toward the mountain peak.
----
In front of the Riina mansion, at the smoking area, Don Aldric Riina right-hand man, Salvatore, and other members of the organization were gathered chatting.
Sigh.
Salvatore let out a sigh, which was unusual for him.
One of the members asked, "Is the great Mr. Salvatore worried about the Young Master?"
Salvatore lifted his head slightly at the member’s words and exhaled smoke from his cigarette.
"You can tell?"
"Isn’t that obvious? It’s written all over your face that you’re worried about the Young Master."
The other members began to laugh at the member’s words, and Salvatore joined in, caught up in the atmosphere.
"Hahaha! You’re absolutely right. He’s grew up in our Riina family without much outside inference, but now he’s attending the academy. I can’t help but worry."
Another member seemed to be comforting Salvatore and said, "But he’s still the young master of our Riina family, isn’t he? I don’t think anyone will dare to bully him."
Salvatore let out a bigger sigh after hearing the member’s words. "Sigh, Do you think I don’t know about that.? I’m not worried about that."
Salvatore put out his cigarette and flicked the ash off of it.
"Even if he grew up in the Riina family, he’s still the boss’s son, who’s known to be cruel. I hope he doesn’t get into any trouble on the first day."
For some reason, Salvatore face had an inexplicable smile of anticipation as he spoke.
Tring—! Tring —!
At that moment, Salvatore phone vibrated.
He picked and found that it was Lorenzo that was calling to him and with satellite phone no else!
’What happened? Is he in trouble?’
He quickly pick up the phone.
"Hello, Young Master."
—...
"What? You are at antartica?!"
—.....
"Yes, Young Master! Don’t you worry! I’ll quickly open teleportation gate! Please send me your exact coordinates!"
After few seconds later, Salvatore hung up phone and couldn’t help but say darkly.
"Maybe I should just kill that bitch professor! How dare she bully my Young Master on his first day!"
The other members pale at Salvatore words.
Salvatore looked at them and couldn’t help but shout.
"What are you looking at me you fools! Prepare teleportation gate!"
"Y-Yes sir!"
Salvatore was in bad mood.
