Chapter 469 - 416: Daluo Daoist Sound
Deep within the Divine Palace, Qi Yun sat cross-legged like an ancient mountain. The faint golden Divine Power enveloping him was more restrained than before his seclusion, yet also more profound.
His eyes were slightly closed, but deep within them, a Star River seemed to reverse its course as Dao Rhyme flowed.
’The foundation of this realm lies in the Incense and Candle Divine Dao.’
’A Divine Position is a mandate of authority from Heaven, while incense and faith are the living wellspring that sustains the Divine Position and strengthens Divine Power.’
Qi Yun’s Heart Thought flashed like lightning as he analyzed the essence of cultivation in this realm.
’And when it comes to incense and faith... there are masters of this art in the Profound Yellow world as well!’
The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a faint, confident smile.
In his mind, countless memory fragments and Secret Skill Manuals flashed by like phantoms of Flowing Light, finally settling on one in particular.
In an instant, his eyes flew open. An azure and golden divine radiance intertwined and flared within them, as if containing endless wisdom and penetrating power.
A grand, subtle Dharma Gate that pointed directly to the origin of incense and faith was slowly organized and extracted from the depths of his memory. Its name was—
Universal Salvation Buddha’s Voice.
This skill was not for combat or protection. It was a supreme secret art specializing in "spreading faith," "condensing Wish Power," and "deepening conversion"!
It was one of the core Dharma Gates that Qi Yun, in his identity as Fa Hai, had gone to great lengths to obtain by infiltrating the Spirit Mountain Sacred Realm, the very source of Buddhist Cultivators.
The wonder of this skill lay in the resonance between "sound" and "heart."
Any sentient being, whether intelligent or dull, would have their Heart and Spirit attracted and saturated by the grand Wish Power Realms of Compassion, worldly salvation, and the shores of Paradise contained within the Universal Salvation Buddha’s Voice just by hearing or reciting it.
With each recitation, their identification with and reliance on the source of the "Dharma sound" would deepen, naturally gathering the power of faith and wishes.
Even more profound was that listeners would involuntarily spread it. It would pass from one to ten, and ten to a hundred, like ripples in water, spreading ever wider and deeper. Faith would follow, taking root and becoming unshakable.
It could be called the most efficient "proselytizing" Dharma Gate in the Incense and Candle Divine Dao!
’The Buddhist Cultivators of Spirit Mountain have innumerable followers. The Universal Salvation Buddha’s Voice is largely to thank for that.’
Countless fine, golden phantoms of Sanskrit characters seemed to flow and then dissipate at Qi Yun’s fingertips.
’However, its foundation is ultimately embedded with the core doctrines of the Buddhist School: ’karma,’ ’reincarnation,’ and ’take refuge in me, the Buddha.’ The faith it generates ultimately points to Spirit Mountain...’
This, obviously, did not meet Qi Yun’s needs.
What he wanted was his own incense and faith, a power that could help him control this world’s Divine Dao and carry out the Sacrificial Refinement of the Gods Sealing List—not to toil for someone else’s benefit.
’Strip away its divine essence, change its foundation, but leave its structural bones.’ Qi Yun’s Heart Thought was resolute. His Divine Sense, like the most precise celestial hammer, began a drastic overhaul of the Universal Salvation Buddha’s Voice.
He stripped away and erased all specific Buddhist Sect honorifics and imagery, such as "Buddha," "Bodhisattva," "Vajra," and "Arhat." He eliminated the core Buddhist School doctrines and their ultimate goals, such as "transcendence through reincarnation" and the "Western Paradise."
He kept the grand Realm of Compassion but secretly replaced its core. This Compassion was not the compassion of a Buddha, but the generalized Daoist Intent that "Heaven and Earth have a virtue of nurturing life."
Worldly salvation no longer led to Spirit Mountain, but pointed toward simpler aspirations closer to the instinctual desires of living beings: "order," "peace," "favorable weather," and "self-transcendence."
Most crucially, he secretly replaced the final "coordinate" where faith gathered in the unseen world—changing it from the ethereal saints of Spirit Mountain to—himself!
「Three days later.」
A light hum of Dao Rhyme echoed through the Divine Palace.
A completely new Dharma Gate had taken its final form in Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit.
It retained the unparalleled ability of the Universal Salvation Buddha’s Voice to propagate, influence, and condense and deepen faith.
But its core, its direction, and its Realm were now completely different, aligning more closely with the understanding of the native beings of [Spirit Yong] and fitting better with Qi Yun’s own "Dao."
Qi Yun named it—Daluo Daoist Sound.
’Wherever the Daoist Sound reaches, there is my domain; wherever the Heart Thought turns, they are all my faithful.’
Qi Yun whispered, and a strange Talisman Seed that was neither gold nor jade materialized at his fingertip. It was wreathed in faint streams of chaotic energy and crimson-gold ordinance patterns.
This was the seed for transmitting the Daluo Daoist Sound.
With a slight shift of his Heart Thought, the Talisman Seed silently broke apart, transforming into thousands of imperceptibly fine strands of Dao Rhyme and Flowing Light. It merged into the fluctuations of his own Divine Power as the "Thousand Peaks Mountain Venerable." It then spread out soundlessly, carried by the Divine Power and will he naturally emitted while handling divine affairs, descending oracles, and receiving prayers.
The first to receive it were, naturally, the Subordinate Deities, Divine Attendants, Warriors, and Spirit Maidens inside and outside the Divine Palace.
They already held the "Thousand Peaks Mountain Venerable" in awe and faith. When they came into contact with the rhythm of the Daluo Daoist Sound—which was fused with Divine Power and echoed naturally in their Heart and Spirit—they at first only felt that the Mountain Venerable’s sermon today was exceptionally exquisite and pleasant to hear. It calmed their Heart and Spirit, and their awe and reliance on the Mountain Venerable deepened inexplicably.
Over time, they began to unconsciously chant and savor the "True Words" within the Daoist Sound. When interacting with other Low Tier Cultivators, the Temple Priests under their command, or even their own families and children, they would naturally mention and pass on these "wondrous words of the Mountain Venerable" that "calmed the heart and spirit" and "brought one closer to the Great Dao."
Subsequently, through the Subordinate Deities managing their territories, Temple Priests presiding over sacrificial rites, and the word-of-mouth of the faithful...
The Daluo Daoist Sound spread at an astonishing speed throughout the one thousand three hundred sixty-five peaks of the Thousand Peaks Mountain Range.
Mountain villagers hummed it while they tilled their fields, woodcutters chanted it while chopping wood, and Cultivators visualized it during their meditation...
This "Daoist Sound" was not compulsory, yet it possessed a natural attraction and the ability to soothe the soul and focus the mind. It even had a barely perceptible benefit for regulating the body and perceiving Spiritual Qi, causing people to involuntarily accept and spread it.
The Incense and Wish Power began to subtly change.
