Chapter 562: Refining Profound Yellow

HUM.

A remarkably soft tremor, like a plucked string, drifted from the void. The sound was faint, yet it fell directly into the deepest depths of Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit, rippling outward in subtle circles like a pebble tossed into a tranquil lake.

Qi Yun furrowed his brows slightly.

There, a figure stood.

The figure was blurred, resembling a cluster of light shrouded in thick fog. Its face and clothing were indistinguishable, making it impossible to tell if it was male or female. Yet simply by standing there, it became the absolute center of the Heaven and Earth within this Purple Mansion. All the chaotic iridescent colors, the azure light of the sky, and the Power of Primordial Xuanhuang slowly swirled around it.

The Will of Heaven of Profound Yellow.

Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit stirred slightly.

“You’re here,” he said calmly, showing neither surprise nor panic.

“You knew I would come.” The figure’s voice was faint and ethereal, like wind rustling through dead leaves or a water droplet echoing in a deep pool. It had no direction and no source; it seemed to resonate simultaneously from every inch of the void within the Purple Mansion.

“I guessed a little,” Qi Yun replied lightly. “But I wasn’t certain.”

“Are you certain now?”

“Yes.”

Silence fell between them. The blurred cluster of light hovered quietly within the Purple Mansion, meeting the gaze of Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit.

“You intend to Refine the Profound Yellow Origin,” it finally spoke.

“Yes.”

“You must think this through carefully.” The figure’s voice remained soft, yet it carried an indescribable solemnity. “To Refine the Profound Yellow Origin means binding yourself entirely to the Profound Yellow Origin Realm. From now on, as long as the Profound Yellow exists, you exist; if the Profound Yellow perishes, you perish. There will be no way back.”

Qi Yun did not answer immediately. He opened his eyes and looked at the hazy cluster of light.

“Senior, from the moment Qi stepped onto the path of cultivation, Qi has never considered a way out,” his voice was low but filled with unquestionable certainty. “Not before, not now, and not ever.”

The cluster of light fell silent for a moment.

“Very well.” It said only a single word.

Then, the cluster of light began to dissipate. Like a wisp of blue smoke scattered by the wind, it faded from the edges, gradually becoming transparent, ethereal, and returning to the void.

Qi Yun watched it disappear without offering a word to make it stay. He knew it hadn’t left. It was merely merging its very existence into this Heaven and Earth, into the Profound Yellow Origin, and into Qi Yun’s Dao.

From this moment on, it was no longer an entity on equal footing with Qi Yun. It was a part of him. It was his Dao, his method, and his authority.

“Thank you,” Qi Yun murmured softly before closing his eyes once more.

His Heart and Spirit reached back into the Profound Yellow Origin. This time, there was no resistance, no hesitation. His Heart and Spirit acted like an invisible, sharp blade, slicing through the layers of light to reveal its truest, most essential core.

It was a seed.

A perfectly round seed, its surface rippling with countless Dao Patterns, exuding the primordial vicissitudes of time and boundless vitality. This was the root of the Profound Yellow Origin Realm. It was the starting point and the ultimate end of all existence since the inception of this Heaven and Earth.

Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit gently brushed against the seed.

In that split second—

BOOM!!!

An indescribably majestic power violently erupted from the seed! The vast energy was like the eternal river of time suspended upside down, or the stars of the heavens plummeting to the earth. Guided by Qi Yun’s Heart and Spirit, it surged into his limbs and bones, flooded his meridians and acupoints, and poured into his Purple Mansion’s azure sky!

Qi Yun’s body trembled violently!

Under the explosive impact of the power, his robes shattered inch by inch, revealing his Daoist Body beneath, which shimmered with chaotic iridescent colors. Upon his Daoist Body, countless Dao Patterns surfaced, slithering and intertwining like living creatures. Every single Dao Pattern represented one of the Heaven and Earth Laws, and each Law carried the sheer weight of a world.

Behind him, the azure sky abruptly expanded!

The sun and moon underwent frantic Reincarnation, the stars flashed wildly, and mountains and rivers surged with madness! Imbued by the Profound Yellow Origin, the entire azure sky solidified and elevated at an inconceivable speed!

Within the azure sky, signs of life began to emerge. Vegetation sprouted among the mountains and rivers, birds and beasts sprinted through forests, fish and shrimp swam in the rivers and streams, and humanity built its first city on the plains.

This was no illusion; it was reality. It was Qi Yun’s Dao, using the Profound Yellow Origin as nourishment to give birth to a true, independent world with its own Dao and its own order.

Qi Yun’s aura began to climb. It was not a slow increase, but an explosive leap. He was charging toward that Supreme, peerless state—a Realm that only a handful of individuals had ever managed to touch throughout all of eternity: the Dao King.

Outside the quiet room, before Taixu Hall.

Dozens of True Monarchs were adjusting their breathing and recovering when they suddenly felt an indescribable palpitation in their hearts simultaneously.

“This is…” Qingyuan Dao Seeking True Monarch stood up abruptly, his expression drastically changing. “Someone is breaking through to the Realm of Dao King?!”

“It’s Qi Yun!” Desolate Halberd Splitting Sky True Monarch tightly gripped his Great Halberd, his tiger-like eyes wide open. “Is this kid… really going to succeed?”

“No,” True Monarch of No Dao Extreme Law’s voice drifted out from the gray mist, carrying a rare trace of gravity. “He is still one step away. The final step. And the most dangerous step.”

“Dangerous?” Desolate Halberd Splitting Sky True Monarch paused. “What danger?”

True Monarch of No Dao Extreme Law did not answer. He merely lifted his gaze, looking toward the Broken sky above the Celestial Vault.

There, the great tide of time continued to surge. The churning of the ocean of light was far more furious than before, and the rift in the realm wall had doubled in size within a mere few breaths. And deep within the depths of that ocean of light, at the very source of the long river of time—

Gazes lit up.

Not just one, but seven.

Golden-yellow, dark red, green-gray, pitch-black, ghastly white, spectral blue, and purple-gold—seven colors, seven gazes, seven Dao Kings.
