"Warning. Symptoms of non-traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage have been detected. Please seek treatment from a medical team as soon as possible."

Right then, a mechanical voice suddenly rang out from inside Kagemaru's life-support machine, shaped like a steel spider, and it repeated the warning over and over.

Inside it, the old man's head lolled to one side, and he passed out cold from sheer rage.

"Non-traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage... what does that mean?" Jaden Yuki, Syrus, and the others wore blank, bewildered looks.

They turned to ask Rowan on the Duel Field, and then Chancellor Sheppard and the school nurse, Nurse Fontaine, standing beside him.

Even Zane Truesdale and Chazz looked over in puzzlement.

This kind of terminology had nothing to do with Dueling, and their knowledge of it was a little thin.

"Er, to put it simply, it means... a brain hemorrhage." Chancellor Sheppard mopped his sweating forehead with a handkerchief and explained awkwardly.

Nurse Fontaine nodded to confirm it.

"..." Jaden Yuki, Bastion, Atticus Rhodes, and the others all wore expressions of profound shock.

Then they retreated in unison, tactically, and looked toward Rowan!

Dueling this guy was just too terrifying!

Those who had dueled Rowan before and were still alive today, shouldn't they be thanking their own strong mental fortitude?!

Even Jaden, a card fanatic and hot-blooded fool, began to wonder whether he should still challenge Rowan to a Duel to win back his pride.

The danger of dueling Rowan seemed to be even higher than a Shadow Duel!

Rowan's own mouth twitched at the sight.

He had never imagined that old man Kagemaru would actually pass out from a brain hemorrhage.

Where was the man who'd lived a hundred and some years, who'd seen so much and had such a strong psychological tolerance?!

And this was the result...?

"Liar!"

Rowan shook his head and sighed, as though in bitter resentment.

He declared that the thing he hated most in this life was a liar!

"..." Alexis Rhodes and her two sidekick besties, Jasmine and Mindy, along with the others, stared at Rowan with black lines running down their foreheads.

Once this guy got shameless, nobody else had anything to say.

"RUMBLE!!"

With Kagemaru unconscious, the ritual space of the Shadow Duel automatically ruled that the opponent had conceded.

The black valley all around them and the clouds above shook violently. After a flash of white light, they all vanished.

By the time Rowan and the others opened their eyes again, their surroundings had already returned to the forest south of Duel Academy.

The Sacred Beasts and their like had faded out and disappeared, turning back into three cards that dropped to the ground in front of Rowan.

And Kagemaru, unconscious inside the mechanical life-support machine, was the loser of the Shadow Duel.

In accordance with the wager made earlier, in an instant he was transformed into a spirit form in a flash of black light, sealed inside the golden one-eyed Shadow Charm ring that he had been wearing himself. The ring flew out.

It landed in Rowan's hand!

"So the incident with the dark forces of the Seven Stars can finally be brought to a close?" Chancellor Sheppard said, letting out a long sigh of relief as he saw this.

The others, hearing this, also recovered one by one from their dazed state.

"We really owe it to Rowan this time. If it had been me facing those three Sacred Beasts and Chairman Kagemaru, I might have been completely powerless to fight back."

Bastion stepped forward with a smile and offered Rowan his congratulations.

"As the person with the highest responsibility for practical Duels at Duel Academy, I, Vellian Crowler, have always thought highly of Slifer Slacker's strength!"

Professor Crowler, with his blond mushroom haircut, nodded and said it with rare frankness.

"Um... but come to think of it, Chairman Kagemaru is still sealed inside there suffering from a brain hemorrhage. Doesn't he need treatment?"

Alexis Rhodes stepped forward on her own and picked up the three Sacred Beast cards for Rowan. As she handed them over, she saw the ring of the Sacred Beasts in his hand and asked the question.

Chancellor Sheppard, Jaden Yuki, and the others looked at Rowan at her words.

When it came to Shadow Duels, Rowan clearly knew more than anyone present.

Even Chancellor Sheppard, who knew quite a few secrets himself, felt the same.

And the Shadow Charm ring was, in a sense, the spoils of Rowan's victory in the Shadow Duel.

The authority to dispose of it was in his hands.

"Because of the wager in the Shadow Duel, old man Kagemaru sealed inside is now in a state like a pure Duel Spirit soul, so ordinary human ailments don't affect him."

Rowan shook his head and explained plainly.

Put simply, the man was no different now from a soul that had already died...

There was no need to worry about a brain hemorrhage, not unless he was let out and that problem had to be faced.

"Rowan, about these three Sacred Beast cards..." Chancellor Sheppard scratched the back of his bald head, rather sheepishly, as he spoke.

Clearly, he meant to have them sealed away again.

But it was Rowan who had stopped Chairman Kagemaru from seizing the Sacred Beast cards, so it felt a little awkward for him to come right out and say so.

"If you feel bad about it, Chancellor Sheppard, just give me a few tens of millions to make it right!"

Seeing this, Rowan put on a face that said he was thinking of what was best for him, and spoke in a very "understanding" tone!

He declared that the money hardly mattered. The main thing was that he didn't want to put Chancellor Sheppard in a difficult position.

"..." Chancellor Sheppard went numb on the spot.

"..." Alexis Rhodes, Chazz, Jaden Yuki, and the others all wore strange expressions.

If they remembered correctly, this guy had only just shaken down Chairman Kagemaru for money not long ago, hadn't he?!
