Chapter 2195 - 2192: Miss’s Fan
Chapter 2195: Chapter 2192: Miss’s Fan
"The copper ring should be made of a special material; it can’t be made by mere casting techniques," Lin Tian speculated. Having completed the forging of the Heavenly Tribulation Sword with Tang Banqing, he understood more about casting than most Ancient Martial Artists.
"Actually, I don’t even know where the dual maces came from. Since the day I started practicing Ancient Martial Arts, my father gave them to me but never spoke about them," said Little Fatty, scratching his head in confusion.
Miss just smiled and didn’t press further. She handed the mace back, saying, "Here you go. Fight well. With the help of the Kanglong Mace, you should have no problem getting into the knockout rounds."
Little Fatty took the Kanglong Mace with an open expression: "I don’t really care about winning or losing. Both my dad and Mr. Lin told me to fight well, so I will. By the way, Mr. Lin, is your foot alright?"
Lin Tian waved his hand and smiled, "It’s nothing, it’ll be fine soon."
"As long as my benefactor is alright," Little Fatty sighed in relief.
The Geng group matches moved to the next round. Most of the contests ended quickly due to the dominant difference in levels. Only evenly matched competitors resulted in stalemates.
Little Fatty and Situ Ruoling each fought a few more rounds. When Little Fatty defeated the last opponent in his group, the results for Geng group’s matches were finalized: Little Fatty took first place, Situ Ruoling second, both advancing to the knockout stage.
The audience accepted the results, but for the Situ family, failing to have anyone from their group advance in first place was a blow to their pride.
Especially for Situ Ruoling, who considered herself superior as a member of an elite family. Losing to a Loose Cultivator was unbearable, particularly when faced with Ling Shuiyao’s provocative gaze, which made her even angrier.
"Hehe, I’m still a step above her. I advanced in first place, let’s see how she flaunts now," Ling Shuiyao crowed triumphantly, her emotions clear as day.
"Next group, Yi group..." As the lottery results were announced, everyone turned simultaneously to look at Miss, including Lin Tian, because Miss was in the Yi group and was a seed contestant.
Miss remained calm, gracefully walked onto the stage, holding the Hua Ying Sword. As the mountain breeze gently blew, her garments and hair floated, ethereal like an immortal.
Everyone was captivated, including the young heirs of prestigious families, both male and female, their attention wholly drawn to Miss.
Of course, there were exceptions. The members of the Ji family were fixated on the Hua Ying Sword, rumored to pair with the Sky Soaring Sword, once both belonging to the same master in ancient times.
Unlike the Zidian Qingshuang dual swords, which originally belonged to a couple.
The Ji family considered themselves the true descendants of Ancient Martial arts, claiming to be the rightful inheritors of the Sky Soaring and Hua Ying swords. So, spotting the Hua Ying Sword ignited their envy.
Miss didn’t even glance at them. She was now the master of the Hua Ying Sword, which was given to her by Lin Tian. Regardless of the circumstances, the sword would never go to the Ji family.
Another contestant stepped onto the stage, a man who greeted with a smile, "Miss Xiao, don’t worry, I know my limits. I’m no match for you, so I concede."
"Boo..."
He forfeited the moment he took the stage, prompting boos from the audience. The man, unfazed, continued smiling, "However, before conceding, I have a small request. Would Miss Xiao be willing to agree to it?"
"What’s the matter?" Miss wrinkled her brow, not agreeing immediately.
The man smiled sheepishly and hesitated, "Um...could Miss Xiao sign my clothes? I’m a fan of yours."
The audience was dumbfounded; they had never seen someone with such thick skin.
"Sister Manxue certainly has a strong charm; even pursuers follow her onto the stage," Ling Shuiyao glanced slyly at Lin Tian, seemingly observing his reaction.
Of course, Lin Tian had no reaction. He was well aware of Miss’s demeanor. Indeed, Miss said nothing more and turned to leave, leaving the man awkwardly alone.
In Lin Tian’s eyes, Miss was like a cool, domineering CEO and never paid attention to such so-called suitors.
"Hahaha..." Some audience members burst into laughter.
"Brother, you’re like a toad wanting to eat swan meat. Miss Xiao is a heavenly immortal; only the most outstanding young talents are worthy," someone bluntly taunted him.
The man didn’t get angry, instead, he teased back, "A toad that doesn’t want swan meat is no good. Why don’t you tell me which young talent here is worthy of Miss Xiao?"
"No question, it must be Brother Lin Tian," the person confidently replied.
This statement received much agreement among the crowd, though the young heirs’ expressions weren’t as pleasant, especially Ji Zimo and Situ Yufeng among a few others, as the title of "most outstanding young talent" stung their pride.
As Miss heard these discussions, she happened to walk to Lin Tian’s side. Her face flushed slightly, her heart skipping a beat.
"They...they’re just talking nonsense, don’t overthink it," Miss softly remarked.
Lin Tian blinked, gazing at her face with a slight smile, "What should I be overthinking? Miss shouldn’t let her thoughts wander. Focus on the competition."
Seeing the glint in Lin Tian’s eyes made Miss somewhat flustered. Her blush deepened, and she averted her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.
"Next match, Xiao Manxue versus Hou Xinchang!" The second match for the Yi group was announced.
Another man took the stage, but after a long wait, Xiao Manxue didn’t appear.
Lin Tian glanced at her in surprise, "Miss, it’s your turn again."
"Oh..." It seemed Miss just then came to her senses, responding softly and hurriedly walking onto the stage, without the calm grace from before.
Her opponent, Hou Xinchang, was a short man, even shorter than her, yet with a sharp gaze and mature face. If it weren’t for the age restriction in this competition, Lin Tian might have thought Hou Xinchang was in his thirties.
"Brother, are you here to get an autograph, or something else?" someone joked, as a continuation of the previous match, considering Hou Xinchang another "fan."
Hou Xinchang remained serious, expressionless and silent. Instead, he cupped his hands toward Miss, saying, "Please, guide me well."
So far in the Ancient Martial matches, he was the first to be so courteous.
Miss followed Ancient Martial World’s etiquette in kind, saluting back, then stood with her sword poised.
Hou Xinchang didn’t draw a weapon but said, "I know the power of the sword you hold, so I opt to fight barehanded."
Apart from modern firearms like guns and cannons, Ancient Martial contests don’t restrict weapon types or require using one in a match.
However, phrasing it this way had an implied meaning: by not using weapons himself, he subtly suggested that Miss shouldn’t use the Hua Ying Sword.
This could be considered a strategy, but when Lin Tian heard it, he couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy.
