Chapter 2210: Chapter 2207: Crippled

Hou Xinchang took a knife to "kidnap" Lin Tian and then fiercely threatened the audience. However, he noticed that the audience’s expressions were quite strange, with some people trying to suppress laughter, including the disciples of the Situ family.

"This person must be out of his mind; of all people to provoke, he chose this demon." Situ Ruoling gritted her teeth and looked at Hou Xinchang as if he were a fool.

"Haha, this should be interesting to watch." Another Situ family disciple chuckled softly.

Although Hou Xinchang also realized something was amiss, he felt compelled to carry on. Pressing the dagger, he continued his threat: "Do as I say, everyone, put down your weapons, or I will kill your best healer."

"Ahem..." Lin Tian cleared his throat and interjected, "One moment, I have a question. With so many people here, why did you choose to kidnap me?"

Hou Xinchang sneered, wearing an expression that suggested the answer was obvious: "Isn’t it clear? You’ve been treating them all along, you’re the best healer, and you’re a person of importance."

"Besides, you’re the only one in a wheelchair, with disabled legs, so you have the weakest combat ability. Who else should I kidnap?" Hou Xinchang glanced at Lin Tian’s feet, absolutely certain.

Several people, including Miss, almost burst into laughter but managed to hold it in.

"I have the weakest combat ability?" Lin Tian raised an eyebrow and asked again, "Are you sure you know me?"

Hou Xinchang frowned, thinking this isn’t the attitude a hostage should have. However, he replied, "I didn’t know you before, but now I do; your name is Lin Tian."

"Oh, you just got to know me, no wonder." Lin Tian chuckled and shook his head, muttering to himself, "Seems my reputation isn’t that significant after all."

"Be serious, you’re my hostage, stop smirking." Hou Xinchang hardened his expression, unwilling to continue the idle chat with Lin Tian.

In this situation, the likes of the Situ family surely wouldn’t want to intervene; they’d rather watch Lin Tian and the Ling family’s embarrassment, so everyone quietly enjoyed the show.

Outside the venue, a group of Ling Family disciples appeared, each holding a sword, ready to rush in. Ling Zishan waved them away silently, so these disciples retreated.

"Hou Xinchang, I don’t know how you got an invitation to the Ancient Martial tournament, nor do I care. You’re an Island Country samurai, infiltrating the tournament, certainly not for placing, so tell us your purpose." Ling Zishan said coldly.

"Of course, coming from Pavilion Master Ling, it sounds quite straightforward. At this point, I’m not afraid to tell you. I came to Langya Pavilion, not for ranking, but for two goals."

"First, what is Langya Pavilion hosting the Ancient Martial tournament for? Don’t tell me it’s for rankings; I don’t believe that stuff."

"Second, I want to explore the secrets of Langya Pavilion’s treasure vault." Hou Xinchang seemed to throw caution to the wind and seemed to have some reliance, fearing no one knowing his purpose, since Lin Tian, the hostage, was his leverage.

Ling Zishan smiled faintly and said, "It’s pretty much as I thought."

"Ling Pavilion Master, don’t entertain the thought. Lin Tian is closely connected to Langya Pavilion, and he’s in my hands. As long as Langya Pavilion agrees to my conditions, I won’t harm him." Hou Xinchang said coldly.

"What conditions?" Pavilion Master Ling asked calmly.

"Three conditions. First, tell me the purpose behind hosting the Ancient Martial tournament. Second, give me the layout of Langya Pavilion’s treasure vault mechanisms. Third, ensure my safe exit from Huaxia. All three conditions, none are dispensable." Hou Xinchang laid out his demands, in an unnegotiable tone.

Hua...

There was an uproar in the audience, and someone exclaimed immediately: "He’s asking for the layout of the treasure vault? That’s outrageously bold!"

"That’s the forbidden zone within Langya Pavilion’s forbidden lands, the foundation. He dares to ask for it." Ancient Martial Artists thought the little troublemaker was out of his mind; giving away the mechanism layout would be akin to disabling the vault’s defenses.

Not to mention swapping it for Lin Tian; probably even swapping for Ling Shuiyao wouldn’t be possible, according to the Ancient Martial Artists.

"Haha..." Lin Tian suddenly laughed out loud, causing Hou Xinchang to frown deeply, puzzled.

"What are you laughing at?" Hou Xinchang pressed the dagger, fiercely.

"I’m laughing at your two-fifty intelligence quotient." Lin Tian laughed lightly, derisively: "What’s the use of having the mechanism layout? Even if they let you in, can you get the stuff out? Okay, even if you have help, are you sure the vault’s defense is just mechanisms and no Hidden Guard? Can you deal with the Hidden Guard?"

Initially agitated, Hou Xinchang now felt it made sense, and he immediately kicked his "two-fifty intelligence quotient" brain into gear, pondering deeply.

"Can you hold the knife a bit more professionally? It makes you look unprofessional." Lin Tian noticed he was so consumed by thinking that the knife almost slipped down, so he helpfully reached out to adjust the dagger for him.

These actions made Miss and others roll their eyes, thinking you want to be a "hostage" this professionally?

"Stop thinking, I have a suggestion for you. Let Langya Pavilion prepare five helicopters, uh, maybe five isn’t enough, make it ten. Then let them load all the treasure vault items onto the helicopters, and then you can take a helicopter, carrying all the treasures, and leave Huaxia. How does that sound?" Lin Tian suggested earnestly but nonsensically.

Miss and others, along with the audience, found this "suggestion" to be quite hilarious; Ling Shuiyao, the Little La Jiao, almost erupted, wanting to beat Lin Tian up. What kind of awful suggestion was that?

Hou Xinchang’s eyes brightened, but he hadn’t completely lost his sanity and suspiciously asked: "Will they agree to this condition? What are you to them? Isn’t this a trick on me?"

Lin Tian’s lips curled into a slight smile and said, "You guessed right, I’m tricking you."

"You’re courting death; I’ll disable your arm first, then they’ll agree to my conditions." Hou Xinchang’s eyes turned fierce, raising the dagger to slash Lin Tian’s arm.

But in an instant, he felt a flash before his eyes, his hands loosened, and the dagger was gone. Upon focusing, he realized it had landed in Lin Tian’s hands.

Hou Xinchang’s heart trembled, but he still considered Lin Tian disabled, with limited mobility. He stepped back and kicked toward Lin Tian, with the blade tip showing again.

"I already said, don’t do stupid things." Lin Tian shook his head, the dagger swung lightly, but with lightning speed.

A spray of blood flew, Hou Xinchang cried in pain and fell, his face in agony, right hand pressing against his right heel, yet blood still seeped through his fingers.

"My foot..." Hou Xinchang shouted in anguish.

"Your foot is crippled." Lin Tian wiped some blood off the dagger on him, saying lightly, as if it was an insignificant task.

Throughout the entire process, Lin Tian sat in the wheelchair, but the single swift cut accurately severed Hou Xinchang’s foot tendons and ligaments.

"This is repayment for Fatty’s; what you did to Fatty, has now been done to you." Lin Tian said placidly, his tone calm, yet icy cold.
