Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 2315 - 2312: Striking It Rich
Chapter 2315: Chapter 2312: Striking It Rich
Now not only can I communicate, but the Sword Spirit has also entered, Lin Tian immediately thought of a question. The space he is in is not a virtual space but actually exists; otherwise, the Sword Spirit wouldn’t be able to enter.
"Master, are you thinking that this is a tangible space?" The Sword Spirit quickly guessed Lin Tian’s thoughts. This guy has lived for hundreds of years and has become quite astute.
"Have you seen it before?" Lin Tian retorted.
The Sword Spirit drifted a bit and denied, "I haven’t seen it, but since there’s such a massive main space like the Netherworld, it’s reasonable for such small spaces to exist too."
"So, you’re saying the black iron ring is a space ring?" Lin Tian was overjoyed. Although he had some premonition before, it felt very ethereal, but now it seems more real.
"If Master wants to verify whether it’s a space ring, just take something from here. If you can take it out, it’s a space ring; if not, it’s just your imagination," the Sword Spirit suggested.
Lin Tian naturally thought of this. Before it finished speaking, he picked up a medicinal plant, his mind left the space, and after a moment of vertigo and a sense of solid ground beneath his feet, he returned to his dormitory.
Looking at the dark red medicinal plant in his hand, Lin Tian was ecstatic, grinning before bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha, I’ve struck it rich!" Lin Tian shouted. If Miss were here, she’d definitely say he was getting carried away.
"This brat, even his sleep-talking is so loud," came Ling Xuesong’s muttering from next door.
Lin Tian quickly stopped laughing, but he couldn’t conceal the joy on his face. This was a space ring filled with countless herbs and minerals and an unidentifiable withered branch, which was said to be the most important, though he couldn’t see why.
However, in Lin Tian’s view, the ring was the most important and was something he had longed for. With it, he could store too many things, even a car wouldn’t be a problem.
"Master, your smile is so sly," the Sword Spirit said with disdain.
"When a master acquires such a treasure, not feeling ecstatic is not enough to express my inner excitement. Forget it, you wouldn’t understand," Lin Tian was so happy that he didn’t care about its disdain.
"It truly is a treasure. Previously, a powerful barrier must have sealed it. Sometimes your consciousness could pass through, but items couldn’t. Now the barrier has been opened by the Shennong Ding. I must say, master’s luck is indeed extraordinary," the Sword Spirit couldn’t help but marvel.
The Shennong Ding opened the barrier seal? Lin Tian was moved, recalling the information left inside the ring. The previous owner of the ring was the Shura High Priest, who met Emperor Shennong while traveling the mortal world.
It’s possible there is some connection between the ring and Emperor Shennong; otherwise, why would the Shennong Ding open the ring’s seal for no reason?
Emperor Shennong, the ring? Lin Tian silently repeated in his heart and then, with a thought, entered the ring’s space again. He quickly reached the house in the center, picked up the withered branch, and returned to the real world once more.
"Master, what are you doing with this branch? Preparing to make a fire to cook?" The Sword Spirit was puzzled.
"What are you talking about, don’t you know this branch was given by Emperor Shennong? Anything from Emperor Shennong must be a treasure," Lin Tian said with certainty.
Emperor Shennong and the Shura High Priest were both important figures. When two such figures converse, they wouldn’t joke around with an ordinary branch, right?
"Since it’s a treasure, it surely won’t burn. What’s the harm in trying?" The Sword Spirit said a bit pouty.
"You’re not entirely wrong," Lin Tian steeled himself, a purple flame rising in his hand, enveloping the branch. If it was a treasure from Emperor Shennong, it shouldn’t be destroyed. If it was just an ordinary branch, it wouldn’t matter if it burned.
After evolving into a Green-eyed Zombie, the power of Lin Tian’s purple flame had advanced to a higher level. Ordinary treasures couldn’t withstand the burning of the purple flame. However, the branch remained unscathed amidst the purple flames.
"Heh, didn’t I say, a good burn never hurt anyone," the Sword Spirit said smugly again.
"It’s indeed a treasure." Lin Tian’s eyes shone brightly, confirming he’d truly hit the jackpot.
After thinking for a bit, he summoned the Shennong Ding and threw the branch into the tripod, then began to heat the Shennong Ding. Purple flames swirled outside, flames spiraled inside the tripod, refining the branch.
With the aid of the Shennong Ding, nothing couldn’t be refined. Lin Tian was treating the branch as medicinal material to refine, to see if it could be refined.
The flames spun around the branch continuously, the intensity of the flames was slightly less than three people joining forces, but stronger than the previous purple flame. According to reason, flames have a restraining effect on wood to some extent, yet this unremarkable looking branch remained intact.
"Huh, something’s odd..." The Sword Spirit suddenly expressed surprise. Before Lin Tian could ask, it continued, "The branch is absorbing energy from within the Shennong Ding. Although it’s very subtle, my feeling can’t be wrong."
"No way, not only can’t it burn, but it can also absorb energy?" Lin Tian was even more astonished. The Sword Spirit’s sensitivity to energy was never wrong.
"I have a bold idea; perhaps it’s not a withered branch but one with vitality," the Sword Spirit speculated.
Lin Tian stopped refining, put away the purple flame and the Shennong Ding, and observed the branch carefully. Unfortunately, there was no change at all.
"Could it be planted in the ground, watered and fertilized every day, given sunlight and rain, and then come back to life with buds sprouting?" Lin Tian pondered.
"You can always try," the Sword Spirit suggested straightforwardly.
Lin Tian immediately dismissed its bad idea: "If it were that easy to plant, would the Shura High Priest have left it to me? It would have been a large tree, saving his people."
"With the ancient abundance of Spiritual Energy, and such a good environment, still unable to grow, can it grow in the current environment?" Lin Tian questioned.
"Of course, it can’t be grown," the Sword Spirit responded awkwardly.
Lin Tian temporarily couldn’t think of a solution, so he put the branch back into the black iron ring and went to sleep.
The next morning, following his usual routine, Lin Tian woke up early to cultivate. After advancing to a Green-eyed Zombie, Lin Tian felt he could absorb the essence of the sun faster and more abundantly.
Once cultivation was complete, the courtyard became lively, with the Xiao sisters and Ling Shuiyao bringing breakfast.
Lin Tian walked out of the room, looking at the delicacies on the table, but instead of immediately dining, he said, "Shuiyao, let’s eat while we walk. Take me to see Senior Sister Ling Xiao."
"Alright, I went to see her last night. Senior Sister Ling Xiao’s condition isn’t very good," Ling Shuiyao swallowed a mouthful of food, worriedly said.
The two elders merely sighed and said nothing. Ling Xuesong, although strong, couldn’t do much either.
With Ling Shuiyao leading the way, the three arrived at the female disciples’ dormitory. Although it was a dormitory for disciples, the environment was quite nice, and the building seemed better than the houses at the back mountain.
A girl’s boudoir should be fresh and beautiful, filled with an aromatic fragrance, but when Lin Tian entered Ling Xiao’s room, he smelled medicine instead.
Ling Xiao lay there, unable to move, while a female disciple was wiping her face and caring for her. That Healing Medicine only saved her life but didn’t restore her mobility, let alone her abilities.
"Senior Sister Ling Xiao, I brought Lin Tian to see you," Ling Shuiyao stepped forward, softly said, even the ever-playful Ling Shuiyao could be gentle like this.
