Chapter 2320 - 2317: Ancient Tomb Maze
Chapter 2320: Chapter 2317: Ancient Tomb Maze
"This Innate, and the Innate mentioned in Ancient Martial, should be different, because Innate in ancient texts has various interpretations. For people, it means the origin; for all things and the world, it represents the primitive, which can also be said to be the time of chaos yet to open," Lin Tian explained somewhat reluctantly, as the descriptions of Innate in ancient books are varied.
But it is certain that the Innate Fire mentioned in the Burning Sky Technique is definitely not the Innate Realm in Ancient Martial.
"So how should it be cultivated? Will it be difficult?" Xiao Manxuan asked nervously, thinking that even the geniuses of the Medicine King Mansion couldn’t learn it; she felt even more unsure as an outsider.
Lin Tian continued reading, then frowned: "Cultivation is divided into dynamic and static styles; dynamic style is a set of cultivation movements—let’s not talk about that yet. This static style involves sitting cross-legged, forming hand seals, and focusing the mind on the heart area..."
"What’s wrong, is there something unusual?" Xiao Manxuan asked curiously upon seeing Lin Tian’s deeply furrowed brow.
"How should I put it, the cultivation method isn’t difficult; anyone can sit cross-legged. The hand seals are complex, but with your understanding, you’ll be able to do them with practice. What’s strange is the focus on the heart."
"Generally, when cultivating, Ancient Martial Artists focus their mind on the Dantian area, known as ’mind guard Dantian,’ which helps better produce and control True Qi. However, the Burning Sky Technique instructs cultivators to focus on the heart."
"The heart belongs to fire; focusing on it raises heart fire, making the cultivator restless and aiding the growth of Heart Demon. Once the Heart Demon emerges, True Qi counterflows, damaging meridians at the least, causing madness or even death at the worst."
"I don’t know who created such a cultivation technique, going against the norm. No wonder the geniuses of the Medicine King Mansion couldn’t master it," Lin Tian understood a bit more, but still doubted if someone whimsically drafted this technique.
If it weren’t for encountering Xiao Manxuan’s special condition, Lin Tian surely would have thought so. But after some reflection, this part of the technique is simply tailored for Xiao Manxuan.
Xiao Manxuan’s energy gathering point isn’t in the Dantian, but rather in the heart area, perfectly matching the cultivation of the Burning Sky Technique. It’s no wonder the Medicine King Mansion brought out the Burning Sky Technique; one must admit Xiao Manxuan is exceptionally compatible with this cultivation method.
Of course, being compatible is one thing; whether she can cultivate it depends on Xiao Manxuan’s understanding and perseverance.
Lin Tian acted as a translator, translating all the contents of the gold scroll, while Xiao Manxuan, with good memory, memorized the contents after a while.
"Let me try it." Xiao Manxuan showed a hint of anticipation and eagerness.
Lin Tian naturally didn’t object, providing her with a cushion to sit cross-legged. The little girl sat cross-legged and formed seals; although the hand seals were complex, Xiao Manxuan quickly learned them.
Xiao Manxuan slightly closed her eyes and began cultivating as instructed.
After half an hour passed, the little girl opened her eyes, quite aggrieved: "Lin Tian, why don’t I feel anything?"
"Uh, maybe it’s just the beginning; you’ll likely feel it with more practice," Lin Tian paused, having nothing better to offer as a response.
Though not an Ancient Martial Artist, Lin Tian understood that generally, when new Ancient Martial Artists conjure the first thread of True Energy, they perceive its existence and can control it, slowly moving along the meridians.
"I thought I could become a master like my sister." Xiao Manxuan was very disappointed.
"Xuanxuan, you’ve probably forgotten; before, you couldn’t cultivate any techniques, any cultivated energies would get out of control. But now you cultivated for half an hour without any adverse effects, and that’s the most worthy reason to celebrate," Lin Tian reminded the little girl.
Xiao Manxuan’s eyes lit up, followed by great joy: "You’re right! Why didn’t I think of that? It looks like I can really cultivate Ancient Martial arts now."
"I believe the Burning Sky Technique is not merely as simple as Ancient Martial arts, and it might be the cultivation technique of some ancient greats, requiring energy quality even higher than Spiritual Energy," Lin Tian speculated.
"Whose could it be?" Xiao Manxuan was very curious.
"Who knows," Lin Tian chuckled.
The two continued studying the Burning Sky Technique, oblivious to nightfall, forgetting to even prepare dinner; with the fridge empty, even the little girl with superb culinary skills couldn’t cook without ingredients.
Lin Tian had to order delivery, luckily the delivery guy was very efficient, knocking at the door within half an hour.
When opening the door, the delivery guy was looking around as if afraid something would rush down the stairs.
"Bro, what is it?" Lin Tian, taking the bag, was confused by his behavior, suggesting perhaps someone was chasing him, making him nervous even delivering fast food.
"The school has unearthed an ancient tomb maze, reportedly quite eerie. It feels creepy walking at night; I won’t say more, I must go," the delivery guy said cautiously, then hurriedly left.
Lin Tian shook his head speechlessly, about to shut the door when suddenly, footsteps could be heard stomping from upstairs. The sensor light was broken somehow, and the staircase corridor was plunged into darkness with the sound emanating from it.
But for Lin Tian, having or lacking light made no difference; he looked up the stairs, seeing a woman slowly walking down.
He could ascertain she was a woman due to her slender long legs, slim waist, a body more impressive than Miss, comparable to Mrs. Xiao, especially noticeable in tight clothing.
Lin Tian’s eyes lit up, unapologetically swallowing: "Instructor Luoxi, can you not appear normally each time you look for me?" He emphasized the word ’big’ deliberately.
The newcomer was Ning Luoxi, expected to come up from downstairs, but she descended from upstairs instead—no doubt she climbed something given her skills, which made such feats easy.
Ning Luoxi eyed the takeout in his hand, slightly surprised, probably finding it odd that two people living together would eat takeout, but she didn’t comment.
"Did you come here about the ancient tomb maze?" Lin Tian immediately guessed Ning Luoxi’s motive.
"You’re the most familiar with the Underground Maze at school, so naturally, I came to find you," Ning Luoxi gestured for him to eat first, then unceremoniously walked into the living room.
When two beautiful women meet, a round of niceties follows. Despite Ning Luoxi being quite serious normally, she conversed well with Xiao Manxuan.
Lin Tian also ate quickly, finishing soon, and Ning Luoxi promptly ended the conversation, standing up: "Xuanxuan, I have something to discuss with Lin Tian."
"I know, go ahead," Xiao Manxuan generously said.
Like ordinary students, the two walked across the campus, Ning Luoxi stating, "Since you came back from Langya Pavilion, you and Xuanxuan seem different. Has her problem been resolved?"
"You know?" Lin Tian was slightly surprised.
"Somewhat aware; we knew about Langya Pavilion hosting the martial arts competition, but I don’t know what happened after going to Ancient Hidden Stream," Ning Luoxi said lightly.
Lin Tian was even more surprised at heart; she had known about the existence of Ancient Hidden Stream beforehand.
