10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 125: Questions
Amon and Felicia walked out of the teleportation portal and back into the bunker beneath the Vale residence.
The white light behind them slowly faded as the magical crystals around the archway returned to their normal state.
Amon remained quiet as he just glanced back at the archway.
The two of them walked out of the bunker and into the long hallway, but unlike his usual self, Amon didn’t make any jokes or comments along the way.
Felicia noticed the deep look on his face.
She glanced at him from the corner of her eyes before finally asking, "Didn’t the talk with Nadya go well?"
Amon smiled slightly and shook his head. "It wasn’t that bad."
He didn’t explain anything else. His mind was still occupied by what Nadya had told him.
A massive dungeon would appear in the centre of the capital within one month, and according to her memories, that dungeon would become the beginning of everything that followed.
’If she’s telling the truth, things are going to get messy.’ Amon clenched his hand slightly before relaxing it again. ’I need to become stronger.’
More importantly, he needed to become stronger quickly.
Everything in this kingdom was becoming increasingly uncertain, and he had no idea when things would suddenly become chaotic.
Amon didn’t want to wait until disaster arrived before realizing he wasn’t strong enough to protect himself and his loved ones.
’I’d better have a few ways to save myself if things go completely wrong.’ His thoughts then shifted toward Seraphina. ’And I probably need to pamper my first wife a lot more.’
After all, that’s one of the easiest ways for him to get stronger.
Felicia and Amon continued walking through the hallway until Felicia suddenly spoke.
"I’ll message you all the addresses of the places that could potentially contain mana-rich land."
Amon nodded. "Send them to me. I’ll check them within two days and tell you the results."
Felicia nodded before becoming quiet again.
They walked for another few seconds before she finally spoke. "I’ll also look after your family while you’re gone."
Amon stopped walking. He turned toward her with a slightly surprised expression.
Felicia continued before he could say anything. "I can’t promise that I’ll be able to keep them safe every second of every day, but I’ll make sure no harm reaches them."
Amon stared at her.
Her expression remained completely calm, as though she had just made an ordinary business statement.
But Amon understood what she was actually offering.
Amon’s mouth opened before his brain could stop him. "Will you marry me?"
Felicia looked at him with a completely calm expression.
Amon immediately realized what he had said. ’...Why did I say that out loud?’
Felicia slowly turned toward him.
She walked closer and gently chopped him on the head. "Know your limits."
Amon rubbed his head. "I was just asking."
"Ask again when you’re old enough to understand what you’re saying."
Felicia turned around and continued walking without giving him another chance to respond.
Amon stood in the hallway for a moment.
He watched her disappear around the corner before letting out a long sigh. ’Hey, at least she didn’t reject me outright.’
He shook his head and continued walking. His destination was Seraphina’s room.
Amon followed his memories through the residence, passing several familiar hallways before eventually arriving in front of her door.
He raised his hand and knocked.
A few seconds later, the door opened and Seraphina stood on the other side.
The moment she saw him, a bright smile bloomed across her face. "You came."
Before Amon could answer, she grabbed his arm and pulled him inside.
The door closed behind him, and Amon immediately wrapped his arms around her waist as he leaned down and kissed her.
Seraphina returned the kiss warmly before pulling away. She then pushed him toward the bed. "Sit."
Amon raised an eyebrow. "That’s an interesting way to greet your husband."
"Just sit down."
Amon chuckled and sat on the edge of the bed.
Seraphina turned toward the clothes spread across it.
There were several dresses, shirts, and other pieces of clothing scattered around, making the bed look more like a temporary wardrobe than a place to sleep.
She picked up two dresses.
One was black with a simple but elegant design, while the other had a lighter colour with a more elaborate pattern.
Seraphina held them up beside each other. "Which one looks better?"
Amon stared at the two dresses.
He took his time examining them, mostly because he knew that both of them would look incredibly good on her.
After a moment, he pointed toward the black one. "The black one."
Seraphina looked at it again before nodding. "I like it too."
Amon looked around at the clothes covering the bed. "Why are you picking dresses?"
"I’m packing." She placed the black dress into a suitcase. "I’m getting ready for our trip to the capital."
Amon blinked his eyes softly.
"Our trip?" He suddenly remembered something. "Wait, did you get your admission to Royal University?"
Seraphina smiled. "I told you already. My aunt got me an invitation letter."
Amon frowned slightly. "Your aunt?"
"Yes."
"Who exactly is your aunt?"
Seraphina stopped packing and looked at him.
"Her name is Marielle Vale." She replied with a smile. "She’s Mother’s younger sister."
That explained the family connection.
Seraphina continued folding another dress. "She’s a senior staff head at Royal University."
Amon looked interested. "Is she a teacher?"
"No." Seraphina shook her head. "She’s a researcher."
Amon nodded slowly. ’So that’s how Seraphina got her invitation.’
It wasn’t particularly strange considering her talent, but having a close relative working in such a high position certainly made things easier.
Amon then remembered something else. "I saw the teleportation portal."
Seraphina looked at him. "The one under your family’s residence?"
"Yeah."
She nodded her head as she understood without his saying anything else. "You can use it if you want."
Amon’s eyes brightened slightly.
"Really?"
"Of course." She smiled. "It’s mainly there so people from our family can travel between the cities without wasting too much time."
Amon thought about that for a moment. "How much does it cost to use it once?"
"Ten thousand Federal Notes."
Amon’s expression remained calm. Internally, however, he nearly coughed. ’Ten thousand for one trip?’
That was ridiculously expensive for ordinary people.
Even with his current wealth, he wasn’t particularly interested in throwing ten thousand Federal Notes away every time he wanted to travel.
’Teleportation really is a luxury.’
Before he could think about it any further, Seraphina leaned forward and kissed him again.
The sudden movement caught Amon off guard.
She pulled away after a moment and whispered close to his ear, "Mother must be watching us right now."
Amon felt a shiver run through him.
He slowly turned his head toward the door, but Felicia didn’t storm in.
Seraphina moved away with a quiet giggle. "You should have seen your face."
Amon narrowed his eyes. "You enjoy tormenting me too much."
"Maybe."
She smiled before returning to her packing, but a few seconds later, her expression changed.
The playful smile disappeared, replaced by something more serious.
Seraphina looked directly at him. "Amon."
"Hm?"
She hesitated for a moment before she asked quietly, "Are you planning to have more than one wife?"
