Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The Humiliation of the Past, Adrian Mercer’s Decisiveness!

Amid the relentless stream of insults, someone had even kicked Adrian Mercer, sending him tumbling down the mountain gate and rolling down the green stone steps.

Back then, as they watched Adrian leave in such a miserable state, the disciples of the Aldercrest Order had believed they would never see him again in their lifetimes.

Yet fate had other plans.

They had met again far sooner than anyone could have expected.

At this moment, Adrian slowly raised his head and looked at the familiar faces standing above him. Their expressions were just as ugly as he remembered, their eyes filled with the same arrogance and contempt.

A surge of anger rose within his chest.

As memories of everything he had suffered in the past resurfaced, his anger intensified until it reached its limit.

Julian Mercer immediately noticed the change in Adrian’s emotions. His gaze grew cold as he spoke in a calm, quiet voice.

"Today, we’re not just here to seek justice for you. We’re also here to annihilate the Aldercrest Order. So, no matter how these people humiliated you in the past, you should repay them twice over. Do you understand?"

Warmth spread through Adrian’s heart.

The anger burning inside him eased slightly, replaced by a deep sense of reassurance. He nodded without hesitation.

"I understand."

Then Adrian turned his gaze back toward the disciples guarding the mountain gate.

A murderous glint appeared deep within his eyes.

Repay them twice over?

That’s exactly what I had in mind!

The distance between the two sides continued to shrink. Within moments, Adrian and the disciples stood less than five meters apart.

One of the guards immediately recognized him. His face twisted with surprise before contempt spread across it.

"Adrian Mercer! How dare you come back here? Have you completely forgotten the rules of the Aldercrest Order?"

"Hahaha! Could it be that your worthless clan has finally grown tired of feeding a useless cripple? Is that why you’ve come crawling back, hoping the Order will take you in again?"

"Since you were once a disciple here, we’ll spare you the trouble of being dragged away. Now turn around and get lost!"

"Still want to climb this mountain? Fine! But don’t blame us when we show you no mercy. Last time, you only lost your cultivation. This time, we might take your arms and legs too! Hahaha!"

The disciples guarding the mountain gate were merely at the Bone Tempering Realm. With their limited strength and shallow experience, they couldn’t possibly see through Adrian’s current cultivation.

In their eyes, he was still the disgraced former disciple whose Dantian had once been crippled.

They had no idea that every insult they uttered was bringing them closer to their own deaths.

Watching them continue their disgusting performance, Adrian gave a cold smile.

He didn’t waste another word on them.

Instead, he reached for the treasured sword Julian had given him and drew it from its sheath.

The blade gleamed beneath the sunlight.

It was an Earth Rank Top Grade Dharma Treasure, a weapon far beyond anything these ordinary gatekeepers could afford to imagine possessing.

Yet rather than recognizing the danger, the disciples burst into even louder laughter.

"Did I see that correctly? He actually drew his sword against us?"

"Hahaha! Has this fool forgotten that his Dantian was crippled? What makes him think he can fight us?"

"Perhaps the humiliation he suffered last time finally drove him insane!"

"Looks like someone needs to teach him a lesson about reality."

"Let me handle him first! Hahaha! I’ll kick him down the mountain again, just like before!"

A short, arrogant youth pushed his way out of the crowd.

He strutted toward Adrian with an expression of utter disdain, seemingly convinced that the former disciple was nothing more than a helpless target.

Stopping directly in front of Adrian, he raised his chin and casually lifted his right leg.

He intended to kick Adrian just as he had once been kicked himself.

But before his toes could even reach their target, Adrian moved.

His sword flashed through the air with astonishing speed.

Slash!

A sharp tearing sound rang out.

The blade swept across the youth’s right leg, severing it in a single strike. Bone showed through the bloody wound as blood splashed across the stone steps.

The youth’s balance vanished instantly.

He crashed face-first onto the ground.

For a moment, he stared blankly at the remains of his leg, his eyes wide with disbelief. It seemed his mind couldn’t comprehend what had just happened.

Then the pain struck.

"My leg! My leg! Aaaaaah!"

His face twisted horribly. His features contorted, and the veins across his forehead bulged as he desperately clutched the wound, trying to stop the bleeding.

His screams echoed throughout the mountain gate, sending chills through everyone who heard them.

The remaining disciples finally reacted.

They stared at Adrian as though they were looking at a ghost.

What just happened?

How could this be possible?

Wasn’t Adrian Mercer the cripple whose Dantian had been destroyed? Hadn’t he lost his cultivation and become a complete waste?

Then how had he just unleashed such a terrifying sword strike?

His movement had been so swift that most of them hadn’t even seen the blade move.

Before they could make sense of the situation, Adrian acted again.

He showed no hesitation and no mercy.

Tightening his grip on the sword, he looked down at the short youth with cold eyes.

The youth had barely managed to raise his head when he noticed the sword descending toward him.

His eyes widened in terror.

"No, wait..."

Slash!

The blade fell.

His head separated from his body, and his screams stopped abruptly.

The mountain gate fell silent.

Adrian stood over the corpse with an expression of complete indifference. He didn’t even spare the dead youth another glance.

Since Julian had decided to annihilate the Aldercrest Order today, there was no reason to show mercy to those who had repeatedly provoked him.

For Adrian, this was not an impulsive act of revenge.

It was the beginning of settling an old debt.

The other disciples stood frozen, their faces drained of color.

Only moments ago, they had been laughing at Adrian and treating him as a helpless cripple. Now, one of their companions lay dead at his feet.

The sheer speed and decisiveness of his attack shattered their confidence.

Fear spread through the group, making their bodies tremble uncontrollably.

At last, they began to understand that something had gone terribly wrong.

The former disciple they had bullied and humiliated was no longer someone they could casually trample beneath their feet.

He was a swordsman capable of killing them before they could even react.

Desperate to regain some sense of security, the disciples hurriedly drew their weapons. Swords, sabers, and other weapons appeared in their trembling hands as they raised them before their chests.

Yet even with their weapons drawn, none of them dared to take the first step forward.

Adrian’s cold gaze swept across their faces.

The memories of the past remained vivid in his mind.

He remembered their ridicule.

He remembered the contempt in their eyes.

And he remembered being kicked down those very steps while they laughed at his suffering.

Today, he had returned.

And this time, he would never be the one crawling away.
