100x Return System: I'm a Lustful Villain
Chapter 63: Velour’s Transformation
Next day,
Damon was going through a few things in his study when his phone vibrated on the desk.
The message was from Eleanor.
Eleanor: Come to Velour when you have time. I have something to show you.
Damon glanced at the message, then leaned back in his chair with a faint smile. Eleanor had been busy with the expansion of her business, and he hadn’t visited her properly in a while.
Damon: I’ll come over.
He put his phone away and finished what he was doing before heading downstairs.
There was another reason the visit was worth making, one that had little to do with the boutique itself. Eleanor was his first Bonded Partner, and her favourability currently stood at seventy.
The system had given him a clear incentive to keep developing his existing partnerships, and he had no intention of overlooking that simply because Vivian had entered his life.
As Damon settled into his car and pulled away from Blackstone Manor, he brought up the system interface.
[Bonded Partner: Eleanor]
[Current Favourability: 70]
He studied the display for a moment.
Until now, he had concentrated more on the returns generated by his partners’ growth than on what happened when their relationships reached the highest level.
The system had another incentive built into it, however, and understanding it gave him a reason to pay attention to the progress of each partnership.
[Bond Slot Unlock Condition: Any Bonded Partner reaches 100 Favourability.]
[Reward: One Additional Bond Slot.]
Damon read the notification carefully before dismissing it.
The rule was simple enough. Once a Bonded Partner reached one hundred favourability, he would gain another slot and be able to establish an additional Bonded Partnership.
He currently had two partners. Eleanor stood at seventy, while Vivian Ashford had already reached ninety. Vivian might reach the threshold first, though Damon wasn’t going to assume that their recent progress meant it would happen immediately.
That didn’t make Eleanor any less valuable.
She had already generated substantial returns through her growth, and her expanding business still had room to develop. If she reached one hundred favourability, he would gain the additional slot as well as whatever benefits her continued progress brought through the system’s existing mechanics.
Damon dismissed the interface and returned his attention to the road.
The commercial district gradually came into view as he drove farther into the city. Traffic grew heavier near the shopping streets, with pedestrians moving between storefronts and cars searching for parking spaces along the curb.
He followed the route toward Velour, expecting to find the familiar boutique with a few neighbouring properties added to it.
Instead, he found himself slowing down as the street came into view.
The change was immediately apparent.
What had once been a row of separate shops had become a connected commercial space, with Velour’s branding running across the expanded frontage.
The storefronts shared the same elegant design and lighting, while separate entrances led customers into different sections of the larger establishment.
Damon drove past slowly before finding somewhere to park. He had expected Eleanor to enlarge her boutique, but she had gone much further, turning the entire stretch into a destination built around her brand.
Inside, the expansion was just as apparent.
The original boutique’s refined atmosphere remained, now spread across a spacious layout that allowed customers to move between displays and sections without losing the sense of a unified business.
Money and resources could make expansion easier, but they couldn’t replace the ability to make it work. Eleanor had clearly put considerable effort into bringing the different sections together, and Damon found himself wondering what else she had planned.
He had seen Eleanor under pressure often enough to know how seriously she took her work. She could spend hours discussing a business decision, pick apart a problem that others had overlooked, and remain composed even when things weren’t going her way.
Seeing the result of that effort was more satisfying than simply reading a report about the expansion.
Still, he suspected that the business wasn’t the only thing she wanted to show him.
They hadn’t spent much time together lately. She had been occupied with Velour, while he had his own matters to handle.
Rather than linger outside, Damon made his way toward the main entrance.
The interior was just as different from the shop he remembered, with a spacious layout that allowed customers to move comfortably between the displays.
The refined atmosphere of the original boutique remained, but it now extended across a much larger area, making Velour feel like an established commercial destination rather than a single high-end shop.
A few employees noticed him as he entered. One of them seemed ready to approach, but before she could do so, a familiar voice called out from farther inside.
"Damon!"
He turned.
Eleanor had just emerged from the adjoining section of the store. She was dressed professionally, as always, but the moment she saw him, the composure she maintained while managing her business gave way to unmistakable excitement.
She didn’t stop to greet him formally or ask what he thought of the expansion. Instead, she crossed the distance between them and threw herself into his arms.
Damon caught her easily, one arm settling around her waist as she wrapped both arms around him.
"You finally came," Eleanor murmured, holding him close.
He glanced at the expansive boutique around them, then looked down at the woman in his arms.
"Looks like you’ve been keeping yourself busy."
Eleanor lifted her face toward him, a pleased smile spreading across her lips.
"Of course I have. I had a lot to do while you were away."
She tightened her embrace rather than stepping back, making it clear that she had no intention of letting their reunion end with a quick greeting.
A system notification appeared before Damon could say anything else.
[Bonded Partner: Eleanor]
[Current Favourability: 83]
His gaze lingered on the new number. Seventy had become eighty-three simply from seeing her again and allowing her to enjoy the reunion she’d clearly been waiting for.
His smile deepened. Eleanor’s progress was worth more than the business she had built, and the system had just given him another reason to appreciate the time they spent together.
