100x Return System: I'm a Lustful Villain
Chapter 64: [Significant Asset Growth Detected.]
Eleanor was still holding Damon when he glanced around the expanded boutique.
"You said you had something to show me. I assume it isn’t just the new storefronts."
She laughed softly and finally stepped back, though she kept one hand around his arm.
"No, that’s only part of it. The real reason I asked you to come is something else."
Damon waited for her to explain.
"Today is the final signing for the Sterling property." Her expression brightened as she spoke.
"We’ve dealt with the remaining issues, finished the negotiations, and settled the legal arrangements. Everything is ready now. Once I sign the documents, the entire property will officially be under my control."
"That sounds like a good reason to celebrate."
"It is." Eleanor smiled, but there was something more personal in her expression.
"I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time, Damon. I wanted you here when it finally happened."
He looked at her for a moment, understanding why she’d asked him to come in person rather than simply sending him the news afterward.
He had supported Eleanor through the expansion and provided the resources that allowed her to pursue opportunities she might otherwise have struggled to reach.
Still, she had been the one dealing with the negotiations, managing the details, and making sure everything came together. The final signing was the result of her own work, and she wanted to share that moment with him.
"Come on," she said. "Everyone is waiting in the office."
She led him away from the main shopping floor and through a private corridor toward the administrative section. The atmosphere changed as they left the customers and employees behind.
The office was quieter, with several staff members moving between rooms and preparing the last documents for the meeting.
Eleanor guided him into a spacious conference room where a number of board members and senior personnel were already seated around a long table.
Folders had been arranged neatly in front of them, and the final paperwork for the Sterling acquisition occupied the centre of the table.
Their conversation paused when Eleanor entered with Damon.
Several people looked up from their documents. They recognized Eleanor immediately, but the unfamiliar man walking beside her drew their attention.
He was young, well-dressed, and carried himself with an ease that seemed natural in the room. Yet nobody recognized him, and his presence at such an important meeting left several people quietly curious.
One of the board members exchanged a brief glance with the person beside him. A few others showed similar curiosity, though nobody interrupted Eleanor to ask questions.
"Good morning, Miss Eleanor," one of the senior members greeted her. His gaze moved briefly toward Damon before returning to her.
"We’ve prepared everything for the final signing."
"Good. Thank you for taking care of it."
Eleanor led Damon toward the seats at the table and took her place beside him, treating his presence as perfectly natural.
That small detail only made the others more curious. She rarely brought outsiders into important meetings, and she certainly hadn’t announced that anyone else would be attending today’s signing.
Damon noticed the looks directed his way but paid them little attention.
He had no particular interest in introducing himself to a room full of people simply because they wondered who he was. Eleanor had invited him, and that was enough reason for him to be there.
One of the members finally addressed him with the courtesy expected in a professional setting.
"Good morning. I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting before."
"Good morning," Damon replied with a calm nod.
He offered nothing more, and the man didn’t press him. Still, the brief exchange left the question hanging in the room.
Still, the brief exchange left the question hanging in the room. Who was this young man, and why had Eleanor chosen to bring him to such an important meeting?
Nobody voiced the question outright. The acquisition mattered too much, and Eleanor had given them no reason to believe her guest was unwelcome.
A few discreet glances continued, mixed with the occasional attempt to work out his identity from his appearance and manner.
Eleanor either didn’t notice or chose not to address their curiosity. She opened the folder in front of her and looked toward the person responsible for the final paperwork.
"Are all the arrangements complete?"
"Yes, Miss Eleanor. The outstanding matters have been settled, and the documents are ready for your signature. Once they’re signed, the acquisition will be formally completed."
"Good."
The board member placed the final documents in front of her and briefly reviewed the last formalities.
The necessary work had already been done, and the people in the room were here to see the process through to its conclusion.
Eleanor opened the folder and read through the pages one final time.
Her expression remained composed, but Damon could tell that the moment meant a great deal to her.
She had spent considerable time bringing everything together, and now only a signature stood between her and the result she had worked toward.
The total value of the acquisition was $1.3 billion.
The figure alone was enough to make the transaction significant, but for Eleanor, it represented far more than the amount written in the documents.
Every negotiation and complication that had stood between her and this moment was finally behind her.
Across the table, the board members waited quietly.
Eleanor finished reading and placed the page flat on the table. For a brief second, her fingers rested beside the signature line before she picked up the pen. She paused and looked at Damon.
"I’m glad you came," she said quietly.
He returned her smile. "I wouldn’t miss it."
Apparently satisfied with his answer, she turned back to the document and signed her name.
The pen moved across the page, leaving the final mark that completed the paperwork. She set it down, and one of the board members carefully collected the signed document for the remaining formal processing.
"Congratulations, Miss Eleanor," he said. "The Sterling acquisition is now complete."
The others offered their congratulations as well. Eleanor thanked them, her composure returning as she acknowledged the people who had helped bring the transaction to its conclusion.
Damon, however, had already noticed something appearing before his eyes.
A system notification had emerged, visible only to him.
