An hour later, in the bustling shopping district.

It was packed with shouting merchants, cultivators bargaining for rare pills, and noble ladies drifted from pavilion to pavilion.

Madam Li walked gracefully through the crowded streets, wearing a wide bamboo hat with a thick, translucent white silk veil that covered most of her face, though nothing could hide her graceful figure.

People instinctively stepped aside. Not because they recognised her, but because she carried herself like someone with authority.

Since nothing in the entire cultivation world could cure a furious woman’s mood better than aggressively spending spirit stones on shopping, and in the process, she had already visited three different clothing pavilions.

And right now, Madam Li was standing inside the town’s most luxurious and expensive silk boutique, casually running her manicured fingers over a stunning, tightly tailored red cheongsam embroidered with golden phoenix feathers.

The fat, greedy shopkeeper was practically drooling as he rubbed his hands together, his eyes blatantly staring at Madam Li’s mouth-watering twin peaks and the incredibly thick curves of her hips perfectly visible beneath her robes.

"Ah, the esteemed lady possesses an absolutely heaven-defying figure, carved by the heavens themselves," the shopkeeper praised shamelessly, completely unaware that he was messing with the terrifying Matriarch of the Gu Clan herself.

"Fairy, your figure would suit our newest Three-Headed Serpent Skin robes perfectly," The shopkeeper said, "This blue one would bring out your elegance."

But Madam Li did not turn to look at him and continued to stare at the crimson dress in front of her.

"This crimson one..." The shopkeeper enthusiastically continued, "Would make any man forget to breathe."

"This blazing red cheongsam was not tailored but practically forged for a body like yours, my lady," the fat greedily told Madam Li, but his eyes were glued to her curves, "This dress... it will perfectly accentuate your magnificent curves, and the high slits will..."

"I can see what the slits will do," Madam Li frowned slightly behind her veil, feeling highly irritated by the fat merchant’s lecherous gaze, and her voice cut through the air. "I do not need a running commentary."

But before the man could apologise for his filthy mouth, a familiar voice echoed directly from behind her.

"I agree with the fat man."

"Those slits will beautifully display those beautiful thighs."

"I guarantee every man in this town will fall to his knees the second you put it on!"

"But..."

"But I honestly think it would look infinitely better lying crumpled up on my bedroom floor."

Madam Li’s heart performed an ungraceful little leap. And these butterflies? The traitorous things, erupted in her stomach. But she stubbornly refused to turn around, keeping her back to him and continued examining the silk as if it held the secrets of the universe.

"I told you not to follow me," Madam Li whispered harshly, her voice dripping with fake annoyance.

"And I specifically told myself that leaving my beautiful wife alone with drooling merchants is a terrible idea," Gu Fan chuckled casually, stepping right up behind her and throwing a heavy pouch of Spirit Stones directly onto the shopkeeper’s face.

"We will take the red dress, and keep the change, fatty," Gu Fan ordered with a highly intimidating glare that instantly made the greedy shopkeeper snatch the pouch.

"Young Master!" The shopkeeper looked between them, "Young Master, is this..."

"Yup... She is my wife," Gu Fan edclared proudly only to have Madam Li step on his foot. Hard.

"Ow." Gu Fan winched, looking at Madam Li with helpless gaze, "At least not in front of others."

The shopkeeper laughed awkwardly.

"I will... arrange those robes there," And with that he scurried into the back room chuckling to himself.

On the other hand however, Madam Li grabbed the wrapped package without a word of thanks and strode out into the street, heels clicking hard against the cobblestones. Gu Fan fell into step beside her, hands in his sleeves, looking somewhat pleased with himself.

"My dear," Gu Fan called out, using the same voice that made her want to kiss him always, "Come on. Don’t be like this. I said I was sorry."

"Your apologies mean absolutely nothing to me right now," Madam Li scoffed, keeping her veiled face looking straight ahead as she practically marched through the crowd.

Gu Fan followed. while she ignored him as he matched her pace. Neither of them spoke when nearly two minutes later as Gu Fan watched her swaying hips, a brilliantly mischievous idea clicked in his head.

"You want to play hard to get?" Gu Fan murmurred as a brilliant smile curled up his lips, "Fine. Watch this."

It was the perfect time to finally use his 10x acumulated wealth for something that is useful.

And without waiting, he sbruptly stopped following Madam Li.

Madam Li however continued to walk for a few more steps before she sensed that Gu fan was no longer following her.

Her steps slowed down as her eyebrows frowned. Did she took it too far? Is he angry now? Or...

Someone else caught her eye?

And the final possibility made her grit her teeth. If that was the case. she is going top kill him.

So as she slowly walked forward, through the corner of her eyes she looked over her shoulder.

Gu Fan had stopped in front of a wooden cart that had a variety of rare, glowing spiritual flowers.

Gu fan did not waste a single second as he whispered something to the cart owner, slammed a handful of spirit stones onto the cart, and grabbed as many flowers as he could in his hands before dashing in Madam Li’s direction.

Madam Li quickly turned her gaze away and looked striaght forward, continuing with her original pace.

The next scecond Gu Fan appeared in front her.

With that trademarl smile of his that always managed to melt madam Li’s heart, he shoved the big fragrant bouquet of glowing spirit-flowers into her arms before she could even blink.

"For the most beautiful woman in the nine realms,"

"Even when she is currently trying to murder me with her eyes."

"I love her..."
